Abstract

Autologous Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) is one of the alternative therapy for type 2 diabetes that might potentially regenerate pancreatic beta cells. HbA1c levels ≤7% is an efficacious indicator for type 2 diabetes mellitus treatment. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of autologous SVF therapy on decreasing HbA1c levels of type 2 diabetes patients at Hayandra Clinic in 2016. This study uses observational analytics by obtaining 30 patients' medical records after autologous SVF therapy and analyzing by using paired t-test. The results showed a decrease in HbA1c levels in 24 patients (83.4%), increased HbA1c levels in 4 patients (13.3%), and two patients (3.3%) who had no changes in HbA1c levels after one month got autologous SVF therapy. Based on HbA1c levels as an efficacious indicator, there was an increase in the percentage of type 2 diabetes patients with controlled HbA1c levels from 37% to 47%. The percentage of type 2 diabetes patients with uncontrolled HbA1c levels decreased from 63% to 53%. There was a correlation between autologous SVF therapy and the decrease of HbA1c levels in type 2 diabetes patients (p=0,003). Keywords: Type 2 diabetes; HbA1c levels; Stromal Vascular Fraction

Abstract

Stunting and anemia are quite serious public health problems, especially in areas with high poverty rates and limited access to health services. Several contributing factors include lack of knowledge about nutrition, unbalanced diets, and limited access to health services. One of the factors that contributes to stunting is anemia in pregnant women. Given these conditions, efforts are needed to increase public understanding of anemia and stunting and prevent stunting from pregnancy. These efforts were realized through health education activities carried out in September 2023 in Sukasirnarasa Village, Sumedang Regency, West Java. Participants were 10 posyandu cadres and pregnant women. The service activity was in the form of education about iron deficiency anemia. The success of this activity was evaluated through measuring achievement indicators using a pretest and posttest with a true-false test type. The evaluation results showed an increase in participant understanding by 15.7% after participating in the education. This increase indicates that health education activities regarding stunting prevention through anemia prevention in pregnant women have been successfully implemented and achieved the expected goals..

Abstract

Immunization is an effort to actively create/increase a person's immunity against a disease so that if one day they are exposed to the disease they will not become sick or will only experience mild illness. By providing timely immunization, the community can remain protected and VPD outbreaks can be prevented. Diseases that can be prevented by immunization currently still threaten the world because they can cause death and disability. Based on this, it is very necessary to take preventive and promotive actions related to the importance of immunization. The method used in this activity is through socialization and discussions involving expert speakers in their fields with participants consisting of 67 mothers of toddlers. Participants came from three villages in Jatigede sub-district, Sumedang.
