Abstract

Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) masih dipandang negatif oleh sebagian masyarakat dan sebagai sekolah yang belum mampu memberikan prestasi dalam bidang akademik, sehingga berpengaruh terhadap peminat SMK. Permasalahan tersebut juga dipengaruhi oleh kualitas layanan sekolah itu sendiri. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang masalah SMK Negeri di Kecamatan Pulau Punjung sehingga mengalami penurunan pendaftar tiga tahun terakhir. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 72 guru dari SMK Negeri di Kecamatan Pulau Punjung, penarikan sampel menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh dengan demikian jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 72 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan SMK N Pulau Punjung mendapatkan skor tertinggi dalam penggunaan teknologi dan terendah dalam promosi. Sehingga rebranding SMK Negeri di Kecamatan Pulau Punjung dapat dilakukan dengan penyegaran identitas visual, menjalin mitra dengan media massa, mengintegrasikan survei kedalam kegiatan sekolah dan mengadakan pelatihan internal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh peningkatan kebutuhan kualitas pelayanan ketatausahaan sekolah berbasis digital dan peningkatan kompetensi teknis tenaga administrasi sekolah di era digitalisasi ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi tentang ada atau tidaknya hubungan kompetensi teknis dengan pelayanan ketatausahaan sekolah berbasis digital di SMP Negeri Kecamatan Pamulang Kota Tangerang Selatan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat korelasional. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 270 orang guru di SMP Negeri Kecamatan Pamulang. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 76 orang yang ditarik menggunakan Teknik Propotional Random Sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa angket dalam bentuk Rating Scale yang telah diuji cobakan untuk melihat validitas dan reabilitasnya. Analisi data penelitian dilakukan dengan bantuan program SPSS (Statistic Package and Social Science) 20.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai dari diperoleh sebesar 0,677 lebih besar dari yaitu 0,225 pada taraf signifikasi 5% menunjukkan tingkat korelasi sedang. Pelayanan ketatausahaan sekolah berbasis digital sudah baik dengan tingkat capaian rata-rata sebesar 88,20 dari skor ideal. Kompetensi teknis sudah sangat baik dengan tingkat capaian rata-rata sebesar 92,22 dari skor ideal. Selanjutnya, setelah diuji Koefisien Determinasi diperoleh hasil 0,459. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hipotesis yang berbunyi terdapat hubungan yang baik secara signifikan dari kompetensi teknis dengan pelayanan ketatausahaan sekolah berbasis digital dapat diterima yaitu sebesar 45,9%, sedangkan 54,1 % dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Peneliti menyimpulkan kompetensi teknis memiliki hubungan yang baik secara signifikan dengan pelayanan ketatausahaan sekolah berbasis digital di SMP Negeri Kecamatan Pamulang. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penulis menyarankan agar instansi pendidikan terutama bagi tenaga administrasi sekolah untuk dapat mempertahankan dan meningkatkan lagi kompetensi teknisnya agar kualitas pelayanan ketatausahaan berbasis digital semakin optimal.

Abstract

Root canal infection is a polymicrobial infection that is a progression of chronic caries affecting the dental nerve tissue and surrounding root tissue, which can be accompanied by extremely uncomfortable sharp pain. Enterococcus faecalis is one of the infecting agents that can be found in primary root canals experiencing endodontic infections and is resistant to root canal irrigation materials, thus leading to root canal treatment failure. Herbal plants have been used since ancient times by the Indonesian people to address health issues due to the believed beneficial properties of their constituents. Research on torch ginger reports pharmacological activities such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and anti-aging effects. Torch ginger (E. elatior) is a spice plant reported to have antibacterial bioactive compounds. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract from torch ginger leaves (E. elatior) against Enterococcus faecalis bacteria. The Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method was used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value and the streaking method from MIC testing to determine the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) with 8 concentrations and 2 controls. Data analysis of the MIC and MBC values was performed using One-Way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis parametric tests. The ethanol extract of torch ginger leaves (E. elatior) has minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) values against Enterococcus faecalis bacteria. The minimum inhibitory concentration of the ethanol extract of torch ginger leaves is at a concentration of 3.125%, while the minimum bactericidal concentration is at a concentration of 65%.

Abstract

Administrative services to students play an important role at the university. Optimal administrative services to students can increase university competitiveness. One effort that can be made is to provide digital and online based service facilities to make the service process easier. However, currently, there are still administrative services at universities that are not digital and online based, which causes problems. The research method starts from requirements and analysis. The aim of the research is to analyze needs for problems in the field as a reference for designing administrative service websites for students. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews at Educational Technology Study Program, Universitas Negeri Padang. The research results show that students need website-based administration services to handle the administration of letters to departments. The results of this research provide a solution for study programs to the problems they face

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang ditemukan terkait dengan motivasi kerja guru di SMP Negeri Se-Kecamatan Guguk Panjang Kota Bukittinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk memperoleh informasi dan mendeskripsikan mengenai motivasi kerja guru di SMP Negeri Se-Kecamatan Guguk Panjang Kota Bukittinggi. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah guru di SMP Negeri Se-Kecamatan Guguk Panjang Kota Bukittinggi sebanyak 291 orang guru, dengan sampel sebanyak 81 orang guru yang dipilih melalui teknik Proportional Stratified Random Sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah angket model Skala Likert yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi kerja guru berada pada kategori tinggi dengan skor rata-rata 4,40 dan persentase capaian sebesar 89%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa secara umum guru memiliki semangat dan dorongan kerja yang baik dalam melaksanakan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the integration of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles and models within the framework of the Indonesian National Education Quality Assurance System (SPMP). The research employed a literature review methodology, analyzing related regulations, theoretical frameworks, and documented implementation strategies pertaining to TQM and the SPMP. The analysis indicates that TQM, including the PDCAE model and principles like stakeholder involvement and a customer-centered approach, has been formally adopted into the SPMP in Indonesian schools. However, its implementation has not been optimal, hindered by constraints such as limited funding, inadequate resources, and an unsupportive operational environment. Consequently, TQM integration remains largely theoretical and has not yet solidified into a pervasive, practical quality culture within the school system. To move beyond theoretical adoption, education policymakers and school administrators must prioritize securing adequate resources, building institutional capacity, and fostering an organizational environment that actively supports the practical application of TQM principles to establish a sustained quality culture. This study provides a structured analysis of the specific challenges in translating TQM theory into practice within Indonesia’s national education quality assurance framework. It contributes by highlighting the commonality of this theory-practice gap in developing countries and by clearly identifying the systemic barriers financial, resource-based, and cultural that impede the full realization of a TQM-based quality culture in schools.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) is a strategic indicator that reflects the quality of life, achievements of society, particularly in the domains of education and economy. This study aims to analyze the contribution of educational and economic factors to the variation in HDI scores across districts and municipalities in East Java Province. A quantitative approach was employed using multiple linear regression analysis. The independent variables include the number of senior high schools, the student–teacher ratio in senior high schools, the Net Enrollment Rate (NER) at the senior high school level, the poverty rate, and per capita expenditure. The dependent variable is the Human Development Index (HDI). Data were obtained from the 2023 publication of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), covering 38 districts/municipalities in East Java Province. The results indicate that the educational and economic factors significantly contributing to HDI are the NER, poverty rate, and per capita expenditure, while the number of senior high schools and student–teacher ratio show no significant contribution. The regression model strongly explains the proportion of HDI variance with a high R-square value, making it a reliable basis for formulating regional development policies. This study underscores that interventions aimed at improving educational attainment and strengthening the local economy are key strategies for accelerating human development in East Java. Although the multiple linear regression model used in this study shows strong explanatory power in identifying the educational and economic determinants of HDI across districts and cities in East Java, this model assumes independence between observation units and still cannot explain other indicators that influence HDI in detail. Therefore, future research on HDI indicators could utilise a multilevel or linear mixed modelling framework to achieve a more robust analytical level that could assist policymakers in formulating policies.

Abstract

Indonesia has made substantial efforts to improve the quality of education by strengthening leadership, developing teacher competencies, and creating supportive school environments. However, gaps in school performance persist, particularly in vocational schools located in developing areas. This study aimed to analyze the determinants of education quality by examining the influence of principal leadership, teacher competency, and school well-being in vocational high schools in Merlung Regency, Jambi Province. By using a quantitative design, the data were collected from 40 teachers through a validated questionnaire that measured the role of the principal, teacher competency, school well-being, and education quality based on national education standards. The data was analyzed using SPSS 25 to find descriptive statistics, classical assumption testing, multiple regression, and analysis of determination. The results indicated that all three variables: principal leadership, teacher competency, and school well-being jointly have a significant simultaneous effect on education quality (F = 3.037, Sig. = 0.041). However, a partial t-test indicated no significant individual effect of each variable on education quality. The coefficient of determination indicated that 20.2% of the variance in educational quality is explained by the combined predictors. This finding suggested that while leadership, teacher competency, and school well-being collectively contribute to school quality, none of the three independently demonstrated strong predictive power, likely due to limited optimization of leadership practices, inadequate teacher development, and inconsistencies in school well-being. This study highlighted the need for more responsive leadership, continuous professional development, and a stronger emphasis on creating a supportive school climate to improve the overall quality of vocational education.
