Abstract

Muntingia calabura L. and Strobilanthes crispa are types of plants that contain flavonoids, saponins and tannins The Fusarium sp fungus infect plants, causing disease in plants. This-study aims to determine the-comparison of the effective fungistatic properties of Muntingia calabura L. and Strobilanthes crispa extracts against Fusarium sp in vitro. This research is experimental research, analyzed statistically using the anova-method, after being tested anova with significant results, it is continued with the Tukey-test, and paired-sample-tests . The adaptability of the Fusarium sp fungus in a-petri dish containing NA-medium which was then added with Muntingia calabura L and Strobilanthes crispa extracts with the same concentration, respectively 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 95% and the-addition of control(-) (aquadest) and control(+) (amoxilin) which observed for 3-days. Based on the-results of research that have been made, the measurement of the inhibition zone in Muntingia calabura L. extract with 75% treatment was 1.6mm. And Strobilanthes crispa in the 80% treatment had an inhibition zone of 2.5mm. The 2-tailed sig value was 0.758, this means the sig-value is greater than-0.05 (p>0.05). So it-can be concluded that is no significant difference between the fungistatic activity of Muntingia calabura L extract and the fungistatic activity of Strobilanthes crispa extract.

Abstract

Facial skin care, especially facial masks, has become part of the modern lifestyle, as the younger generation becomes increasingly aware of the importance of a healthy appearance. One natural ingredient that is widely used in skin care products is Spirulina platensis, a microalgae that is rich in nutrients and has various benefits, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. This research aims to develop a peel off facial mask made from Spirulina platensis which is equipped with essential oil to improve the quality of skin care which is a major contribution to the development of natural cosmetics so that it can become an attractive alternative in the cosmetics industry. The method used in this research is an experimental method with five mask treatments. The results of the ANOVA test showed that there were significant differences in the aroma, color and consistency of the mask. Masks with Vanilla essential oil (F3) are preferred because of their more pleasant aroma, while masks with Sakura essential oil (F4) have the most preferred color. This research shows the potential of Spirulina platensis as an active ingredient in peel-off masks, which can be an attractive alternative in the cosmetics industry, as well as supporting a creative economy based on natural ingredients.

Abstract

Development of critical thinking and collaboration test instruments with a discovery learning approach on ecosystem materials. Education plays an important role in educating and developing an individual's potential to become a useful human being. As time goes by, 21st century skills such as critical thinking and collaboration have become very important needs in the world of education. However, critical thinking skills are still a big challenge in Indonesia, with measurement results showing low scores. Therefore, learning that can improve these skills, such as Discovery Learning, is very necessary. This research aims to develop a test instrument that can measure students' critical thinking and collaboration skills on ecosystem material, using the Discovery Learning model. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The test instrument developed includes essay questions that measure critical thinking and collaboration skills. The research results show that the instrument developed isvalid and reliable, and can measure critical thinking and collaboration skills effectively. Learning Discovery Learning on ecosystem material has been proven to improve students' critical thinking and collaboration skills, where the analysis results show a significant correlation between these two skills. This research contributes to the development of learning instruments that can be used to measure 21st century skills in the learning context in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

Natural clay mask is a safe and effective alternative for skin care. This study aims to develop a clay mask based on Spirulina, enriched with sali-cylic acid, Centella asiatica, and clay, for natural skin care innovation. Three formulations were tested with different composition variations: (1) salicylic acid 0.50 g, Centella asiatica 5 mL, clay 10 mL; (2) salicylic acid 0.20 g, Centella asiatica 2.5 mL, clay 20 mL; and (3) salicylic acid 0.20 g, Centella asiatica 2.5 mL, clay 10 mL. The results showed that all formulations were physically stable with a pH suitable for the skin. Hedonic tests were conducted on 20 student respondents to evaluate preferences for the formulations. Respondents gave assessments based on as-pects of texture, aroma, color, and comfort of use. Formulation C1 is effective for acne-prone skin, C2 excels in spreadability for oily skin, and C3 provides a balance between cleansing and moisturizing. The combination of nutrient-rich Spirulina sp., clay, salicylic acid, and Centella asiatica produces a product that not only cleanses deeply, but also provides nutrition and prevents hydration to the skin. This product is safe, environmen-tally friendly, and has great potential to be developed in the cosmetic industry as a natural skin care.
