Abstract

Kegiatan Fun English ini merupakan kegiatan Pegabdian kepada Masyrakat (PkM) hasil kolaborasi dosen dan mahasiswa/I yang bertujuan untuk menjawab kebutuhan peserta didik akan penggunaan Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa yang harus dikuasai di era kemajuan teknologi saat ini. Pengabdi berinisiatif untuk membantu siswa/di salah satu SDI Kabupaten Manggarai Barat yang mengalami kesulitan untuk belajar bahasa Inggris karena kondisi mereka yang selalu terpaku dengan menggunakan bahasa ibu dan kesulitan berbicara. Hal ini mendorong pengabdi untuk mendirikan sanggar sastra yang akan menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan kreativitas anak-anak, terutama dalam pengembangan bahasa Inggris. Hasil dari kegiatan pendampingan ini terlihat sangat berdampak terhadap anak-anak yang sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan Bahsa Inggris dalam sanggar sastra yang terbentuk.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to increase the activity of students, and the use of conventional This study aims to determine the life of WH who lives the status of a widow in the family, this role has been carried out since 2019. Activities carried out by WH daily are gardening and doing side jobs, namely making various kinds of snacks from bananas, sweet potatoes, and cassava. This study uses psychological well-being and public pedagogy theories to examine WH life in Oni Village. This type of research is qualitative research using the Life history approach method. They are used to help researchers understand the deeper meaning of WH Life in Oni Village before widowhood until now a widow who has three children, who acts as the head of the family, and Mother Tumah Tangga. Data collection techniques use observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques begin by examining all data collected from informants. The results of the study can be concluded that the life of WH in Oni Village as a widow is not only focused on work to earn a living and take care of children, but, WH was also chosen to be one of the members of the PKK in the field of government and the field of spirituality WH was chosen to be the head of the mothers. Amid WH's busy life of earning a living and taking care of children, WH also takes time to carry out tasks in the fields of government and spirituality.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted to describe the process of developing independence for children raised in the GMIT 221 Kupang Christian orphanage. This research uses a qualitative case study approach. The subjects in this research were 3 children from an orphanage and one caregiver. Data collection was carried out using observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that (1) in the responsibility stage where caregivers play a very important role in the process of developing children's independence. (2) In this autonomy stage, the caregiver always provides direction in carrying out tasks so that children feel confident in carrying out tasks according to their respective groups. (3) This initiative stage is where caregivers always provide opportunities for children to carry out activities outside the orphanage such as operating the LCD in the church and attending worship every morning and evening. (4) This stage of self-control is where children are able to control themselves in overcoming the problems they face and children are able to make decisions The conclusion of this research is that with the activity schedule in the orphanage, it can be seen that there is a positive change in every child in the orphanage where at first they were not able to do their own tasks, but with the assistance and supervision of the caregiver over time the children are used to doing things themselves so that children become independent.

Abstract

This research was motivated by problems regarding the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) program for PKBM Bintang Flobamora students in Kupang City, the school literacy movement had not been implemented in accordance with the existing stages, namely the habituation stage, development stage and learning stage. Apart from these problems, there are also several obstacles that occur in implementing the school literacy movement program, such as, some students do not read but only look at pictures in books. This obstacle is a concern for the school. This research aims to determine the influence of the School Literacy Movement on the reading interest of residents studying at PKBM Bintang Flobamora, Kupang City. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto research design. The population used in this research was PKBM Bintang Flobamora study residents, Kupang City, total sampling, so the sample in this study was 30 study residents. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and documentation. Instrument testing uses validity and reliability. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis and prerequisite tests, namely normality test, linearity test, hypothesis test in the form of a simple linear regression test using the terms Ho, accepted and Ha, rejected. Based on data processing from research results with a sample size of 30 residents studying PKBM Bintang Flobamora, Kupang City, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) on the reading interest of residents studying PKBM

Abstract

This research was conducted at Attin Namosain Junior High School in Kupang City. The primary focus of the study was the influence of extracurricular activities on improving student character, with the aim of explaining the contribution of scouting efforts in fostering student character development at Attin Namosain Junior High School in Kupang. This study employed a qualitative descriptive methodology, providing a comprehensive overview of the implications of scouting. According to Sugiyono (2019:9), qualitative research is characterized by the researcher serving as the primary instrument, with data analysis conducted through an inductive approach. To collect relevant data, the researchers used techniques such as observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings of this investigation indicate that initiatives aimed at improving student character are being implemented effectively. The study concluded that scouting plays a significant role, as evidenced by the character values developed through scouting activities and the role of the instructors in carrying out their roles. The extracurricular function of scouting plays a very influential role in improving student character. Scouting efforts provide important character values, including discipline, responsibility, cooperation, leadership, and social awareness among its members. Through numerous activities, students not only develop practical competencies but also cultivate stronger character, which then influences their attitudes and behavior in daily life. With the advancement of character development, students are expected to develop into better individuals and make constructive contributions to society.
