Abstract

ABSTRACT Out-of-school youth need empowerment. The impact of young people not continuing their education is unemployment, lack of skills and detrimental treatment such as drug use. Out-of-school youth are also less likely to obtain stable employment and generate adequate income. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of empowering out-of-school youth through ikat weaving skills training at Sanggar Doka Tawa Tana studio. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The results of the research show that: Empowering School Dropout Youth through ikat weaving skills training at Sanggar Doka Tawa Tana consists of 3 (three) stages, namely: 1) the awareness and behavior formation stage, 2) the ability transformation stage in the form of knowledge and skills and 3) the increasing intellectual abilities and skills to achieve independence. The result is that young people who drop out of school get motivation that can change their lives, increase their skills in the field of ikat weaving, take initiative in the process of gaining knowledge and skills, open business opportunities, and increase the independence of participants and also success in increasing their knowledge and skills in making sarongs. and improve family welfare.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning of the ikat weaving motif for the youth of the Uma Badut tribe. This research method uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological study approach. The research location is the Uma Badut tribe in Maktihan village, West Malaka District, Malaka Regency. The subjects in this study were the Uma Badut tribe community consisting of youth, weaving mothers and traditional elders. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Research Results One of the woven motifs that is still relevant to the life of the Uma Badut tribe is the uma nen motif. The uma nen motif has a deep meaning and value contained in it. In the lives of the youth of the Uma Badut tribe, from generation to generation they have preserved these two values. However, today's youth do not understand these two values, due to a lack of teaching from parents or traditional elders. Therefore, based on these results it can be concluded that the Uma Badut tribe has basic motifs that have deep meaning and value contained in woven fabrics. However, many young people from the Uma Badut tribe do not live up to the values conveyed by their ancestors. Keywords: Meaning, Motif, Ikat Weaving, Youth

Abstract

Community empowerment through the cultivation of red ginger plants in Watunay Village, West Golewa District, Ngada Regency is an empowerment program that aims to help the community improve the economy and rise from economic downturn. The purpose of the study was to find out how community empowerment through the cultivation of red ginger plants in Watunay Village, West Golewa District, Ngada Regency. This type of research uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data collection method uses interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. Validity of research data using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that the community empowerment program through the cultivation of red ginger plants in Watunay Village is an effort to create an atmosphere or climate that allows the community to develop (Enabling) by providing encouragement to the community in the form of providing funds, mentoring efforts and holding activities, and providing motivation. However, there has been no effort to strengthen the potential that is already owned (Empowering) in the form of providing facilities and markets. The community empowerment program through the cultivation of red ginger plants in Watunay Village also makes efforts to protect economically weak communities (Protecting) by prioritizing weak communities. In the community empowerment program through red ginger cultivation in Watunay Village, it still cannot help the community improve the economy because it has not had a significant impact on the community's economy.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine community empowerment efforts through the smok cloth handicraft business at PKBM Empowering Pemuda Harapan Bangsa, Kupang City. The smok cloth handicraft group has been established since 2015 until now. The empowerment efforts studied in this research are through awareness, capacity building and empowerment. The type of research used is qualitative with a case study approach. The research location is at PKBM Empowering Pemuda Harapan Bangsa, Kupang City. The subjects of this research were companions, leaders and group members. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The triangulation used to explain the validity of the data is source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results of the research show that the empowerment efforts carried out through smok cloth handicrafts at PKBM Empowering Pemuda Harapan Bangsa, Kupang City have gone quite well. In the awareness stage, learning residents are given motivation through outreach activities. At the capacity building stage, students are also given training and demonstrations. In the final stage, the empowerment stage, even though the students are still not completely independent, the profits obtained from smok cloth handicrafts so far can be used to meet the daily needs of the students.

Abstract

Abstract This research is motivated by the problem that men's empowerment can also be realized through active participation in the wider community facilitated by empowerment actors. Men in Palamarung M1 Subdistrict (20 years old) are involved in informal sector economic activities as weaving craftsmen. This research aims to find out the process of empowering male ikat weaving craftsmen and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors as a male ikat weaving craftsman This research method uses qualitative methods and the research location is in Palamarung Village, East Sumba Regency. The subjects in this research were ikat weaving craftsmen, parents, village heads, school principals and students. Data collection uses interview techniques, observation and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the research show that M1 is a male Ikat Weaving Craftsman in Palamarung Village, East Sumba Regency. Awareness actions carried out by M1 include approaching schools about the importance of preserving ikat culture and conducting outreach to students to take part in extracurricular activities on ikat weaving as an extracurricular of interest. As well as grouping students based on gender in preparing weaving materials and tools. In the Transformation stage, M1 prepares materials and collaborates with the school to create extracurricular schedules and study agreements. Apart from that, the sales and promotion process is carried out through social media. The stage of student independence is combined in a class and group between male and female students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui program PKK di Desa Nunkolo, Kecamatan Nunkolo, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan dengan mengacu pada teori yang dikemukakan oleh Sumodiningrat bahwa tahap pemberdayaan dibagi menjadi tiga bagian yaitu tahap penyadaran, tahap tranformasi dan tahap peningkatan.Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 3 orang yaitu ketua PKK, sekretaris PKK, dan anggota PKK. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik yang digunakan untuk analisis data adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Triangulasi yang digunakan untuk menguji data dengan menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan; 1) Tahap penyadaran; potensi yang dimiliki tidak dikembangkan dengan baik karena malas dan tidak mau untuk belajar, adanya motivasi dari ibu-ibu PKK yang didapat dari pelatihan tentang pembuatan keterampilan menganyam okomama dan tas dari daun lontar namun hanya sekedar mengikuti dan tidak melanjutkan ke kelompok dan juga untuk kehidupan sendiri, kurang adanya interaksi antara pengurus dan anggota atau anggota dengan anggota lain sehingga potensi dari ibu-ibu hanya sebatas untuk dirinya sendiri yang mengetahui. 2) Tahap transformasi; ibu-ibu dalam PKK sebagian sudah terampil namun kurangnya interaksi dan kerjasama sehingga tidak berbagi ilmu kepada anggota lain tentang pengolahan keterampilan dan 3) Tahap peningkatan ; ibu-ibu PKK kurang menyadari akan potensi dan keterampilan yang dimiliki, kurangnya motivasi dari program PKK yang ada sehingga mempengaruhi potensi yang dikembangkan.

Abstract

This research was conducted at Attin Namosain Junior High School in Kupang City. The primary focus of the study was the influence of extracurricular activities on improving student character, with the aim of explaining the contribution of scouting efforts in fostering student character development at Attin Namosain Junior High School in Kupang. This study employed a qualitative descriptive methodology, providing a comprehensive overview of the implications of scouting. According to Sugiyono (2019:9), qualitative research is characterized by the researcher serving as the primary instrument, with data analysis conducted through an inductive approach. To collect relevant data, the researchers used techniques such as observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings of this investigation indicate that initiatives aimed at improving student character are being implemented effectively. The study concluded that scouting plays a significant role, as evidenced by the character values developed through scouting activities and the role of the instructors in carrying out their roles. The extracurricular function of scouting plays a very influential role in improving student character. Scouting efforts provide important character values, including discipline, responsibility, cooperation, leadership, and social awareness among its members. Through numerous activities, students not only develop practical competencies but also cultivate stronger character, which then influences their attitudes and behavior in daily life. With the advancement of character development, students are expected to develop into better individuals and make constructive contributions to society.

Abstract

Separation not only has an impact on husband and wife but also on teenagers. Adolescence is an important period in which physical and mental development occurs. After parents separate, teenagers have to go through difficult stages, including the process of self-acceptance. The aim of this research is to dimensions of adolescent self-acceptance from separated couples through the concept of Psychological Well-Being. The phenomenological qualitative research method was carried out on teenagers aged 16-19 years whose families were not intact or where their parents had separated. Data collection techniques use observation and interviews, and are analyzed through data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. Triangulation carried out to explain the validity of the data is source triangulation and technical triangulation. The research results show that self-acceptance includes stages, namely: 1) Denial, teenagers are confused about what is happening in their family. 2). Anger (anger), towards oneself and the situation of the family. 3). Bargaining (gainning), starting to accept the situation of an incomplete family and determining life goals. 4). Depression (depression), closing yourself off from other people. 5). Acceptance, accepting the situation of an incomplete family and focusing on the future. Furthermore, the aspect of self-acceptance consists of: 1). Strengths/strengths, support from extended family and being able to open up to other people. 2). Disadvantages/weaknesses, not being able to accept the situation of an incomplete family. 3). Positive behavior, spending more time at home and developing hobbies. 4). Negative behavior, lazy to go to school, irresponsible for assigned tasks, fighting with peers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan rendahnya minat baca masyarakat pedesaan, khususnya di Desa Lilo, Kecamatan Amanatun Utara, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan. Keterbatasan akses bahan bacaan, minimnya sarana literasi, dan minimnya kegiatan membaca menjadi tantangan tersendiri yang memerlukan solusi konkret. Rumah Literasi Thomas Edison hadir sebagai salah satu solusi dengan menerapkan berbagai strategi untuk meningkatkan minat baca masyarakat. Evaluasi dilakukan untuk menilai sejauh mana strategi tersebut memengaruhi pengembangan budaya baca di masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan lokasi penelitian di Rumah Literasi Thomas Edison Desa Lilo. Subjek penelitian meliputi pimpinan Rumah Literasi Thomas Edison, peserta program, dan warga masyarakat yang tidak mengikuti kegiatan. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi langsung, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan untuk memperoleh gambaran menyeluruh tentang efektivitas strategi yang diterapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang diterapkan Rumah Literasi Thomas Edison meliputi: (1) Strategi sosialisasi aktif yang dilakukan melalui kegiatan sekolah dan gereja untuk memperluas jangkauan informasi dan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya literasi. (2) Penyediaan bahan bacaan berkualitas yang disesuaikan dengan minat anak, disertai bimbingan khusus bagi mereka yang belum bisa membaca, merupakan langkah penting dalam menjangkau semua anak. (3) Penyelenggaraan kegiatan rutin setiap dua bulan, seperti lomba membaca, membaca cepat, serta menulis dan membaca puisi, terbukti efektif dalam menumbuhkan kreativitas, membangun rasa percaya diri, dan meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa anak. (4) Program dirancang agar selaras dengan kebutuhan dan budaya setempat, sehingga terasa relevan dan berhubungan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat.
