Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi peningkatan pembelajaran keterampilan membaca pada siswa kelas X-1 SMA Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan dengan menggunakan metode TPS (Think Pair Share). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dan datanya dipaparkan melalui data deskripsi kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari atas 4 tahap yaitu: tahap perencanaan, pelakasanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Data proses pembelajaran, setiap siklus dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Sedangkan data hasil pembelajaran dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-1yang berjumlah 33 Orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai ketuntasan klasikal yang diperoleh siswa pada siklus I adalah 67,83 % sedangkan pada siklus II mencapai 85,67 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan metode TPS dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca khususnya teks recount sejarah siswa kelas X-1 SMA Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This research aims to see whether there is an increase in students' ability to understand mathematical concepts by implementing the Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) learning model assisted by e-modules. This research is classroom action research (PTK), with research subjects of class XI MIPA-1 students at SMAN 1 Sinunukan, Kabupaten Mandailing Natal, totalling 310 people. The object of the research is to examine whether or not the application of the CUPs learning model assisted by e-modules in class This research consisted of 2 cycles, in cycle I based on analysis showed that 22 students (62.810%) met the criteria for learning success, while 13 students (37.14%) did not meet the learning success criteria. Cycle I produced a mean class score of 78.66. Furthermore, in the second cycle there was an increase, namely the total number of students who achieved the criteria for learning success became 36 students (88.107%) or the high category, although 4 students (11.49%) still did not meet the criteria for learning success and the average class score was 86. 38. The research results obtained show that the application of the Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) learning model assisted by e-modules in trigonometry material improves the ability to understand mathematical concepts in class XI MIPA-1 students at SMAN 1 Sinunukan, Kabupaten Mandailing Natal for the 2022/2023 academic year.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan permainan edukatif yaitu permainan Suit Perkalian dalam konsep perkalian bilangan bulat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MIS Tahfidzul Qur’an Darun Najah Padangsidimpuan dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 26 siswa kelas II. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik deskripsi kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis hasil belajar (uji kefektifan). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa permainan Suit Perkalian dibutuhkan dalam pembelajaran untuk memberikan pembelajaran yang efektif, efisien dan tentunya menarik. Keefektifan pengembangan permainan Suit Perkalian dapat dilihat dari hasil uji keefektifan menggunakan paired samples t test terhadap evaluasi siswa pada pretest dan posttest yang memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa yang awalnya 77,31 menjadi 84,85 artinya bahwa ada peningkatan sebesar 7,54. Peningkatan yang signifikan ini terlihat juga pada perhitungan dengan SPSS dengan hasil nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, yang berarti hasil pretest dan posttest berubah secara signifikan sebelum dan sesudah tes. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan permainan Suit Perkalian efektif karena dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung perkalian siswa kelas II SD/MI dalam pemebelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran ialah salah satu per angkat yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran yang berfungsi sebagai alat bantu untuk menyampaikan pesan atau informasi kepada siswa guna memahami konsep-konsep matematika yang bersifat abstrak. Sehingga, media pembelajaran sangat penting digunakan dan dirancang sedemikian rupa agar menghasilkan media yang menarik dan mudah digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran berbasis ICT dengan menggunakan software scratch yang valid dan mengetahui respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran berbasis ICT dengan menggunakan software scratch pada materi peluang. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Portibi. Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan adalah menggunakan langkah-langkah model pengembangan dari ADDIE yakni 1) tahap analisis; 2) tahap perencanaan; 3) tahap pengembangan; 4) tahap implementasi; 5) tahap penilaian. Pengembangan produk ini telah melalui proses validasi yaitu validasi ahli materi sebanyak dua orang, validasi ahli media sebanyak 2 orang danuji coba skala kecil yang menunjukkan bahwa produk ini dinyatakan valid/layak digunakan berdasarkan saran yang diberikan. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa 1) media pembelajaran berbasis ICT menggunakan software scratch pada materi peluang yang telah melalui tahap validasi menghasilkan produk yang valid/layak digunakan; 2) respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran berbasis ICT menggunakan software scratch pada materi peluang mendapat respon baik.

Abstract

Lucky are the parents who send their children  to  Islamic  boarding  schools. Especially in this digital era, supervision of children needs to be enhanced. Learning in boarding schools is not only about religious knowledge but also other subjects, including Mathematics. However, many students claim that Mathematics is difficult. Various phenomena occur, such as students sleeping or skipping classes during Mathematics lessons, teachers who lack engaging lesson designs, and rigid and tense teaching methods that make Mathematics a frightening subject. As teachers, we should be able to create a fun and enjoyable learning atmosphere, so that students become addicted to learning Mathematics. The purpose of this research is to find out the fun and enjoyable ways to learn Mathematics in Islamic boarding schools. The analysis is based on literature review. Data collection techniques involve gathering various information from literature sources. Additionally, it is structured and organized systematically for better understanding. The results obtained in this research are various enjoyable ways to learn Mathematics in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

AbstractThis paper explored pre-service teachers’ perceptions and knowledge of trigonometric concepts. Convenience sampling technique was used to select a sample of 200 (50 females, 150 males) second year science/mathematics pre-service teachers from two Colleges of Education in the Padangsidimpuan City. Trigonometry Perception Questionnaire (TPQ) and Trigonometry Assessment Test (TAT) were used to collect data on pre-service teachers’ perceptions and conceptual knowledge of trigonometry. Data were coded and keyed into Statistical Package for Service Solutions (SPSS version 20) and analysed using descriptive statistics. The results suggested that pre-service teachers perceived trigonometry as abstract, difficult and boring to learn; and had limited conceptual knowledge of basic trigonometric concepts. Consequently, more that 65 % of them were unable to construct and reconstruct the appropriate mental structures for meaningful understanding to enable them respond to important basic trigonometry tasks. To achieve quality mathematics education, teacher educators must change their instructional practice and teach for understanding. Since understanding is the key to teacher’s instructional actions, processes and knowledge, we recommend teaching trigonometry for understanding during teacher preparation.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a discrete mathematics module based on discovery learning to improve students’ mathematical understanding in higher education. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with a mixed approach and ADDIE model in the product development stage. The data collection techniques used questionnaires, tests and interview guides. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used in this research combines qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The results include (1) Reviewing the study of discrete mathematics module development; it obtained valid results after going through several assessments and revisions, and the practicality of developing this discrete mathematics module was categorized as practical; it is not surprising that the module can increase students’ mathematical understanding with a range of 37.97; (2) Judging from effectiveness; it is obtained from inferential statistics that significance is 0.00, which means there is an influence on the use of discovery learning-based discrete mathematics modules on students’ mathematical understanding. These results have implications that the module has proved effective in improving students’ mathematical understanding in higher education.
