Abstract

The master key to understanding the meaning of foreign language sentences is vocabulary. Mastering a lot of vocabulary makes it easier to understand the reading, follow a conversation, give an answer, and speak a foreign language. Without a proper vocabulary, the students cannot communicate and understand what is being communicated. The goal of vocabulary teaching should be to get students to actively think about the meaning of words and how we can use them in different situations. The use of subtitles in films is an effective way to make it easier for students to develop an understanding of the sentences and vocabulary conveyed in films. For students studying English, movie subtitles have a distinct appeal, especially for expanding vocabulary. The purpose of this study is to see how the use of subtitles in films is beneficial for mastering students' vocabulary and find out whether subtitles in films can influence students' mastery of English vocabulary. The research method used by the author is a qualitative descriptive research. Data collection was carried out through documentation and interviews with research subjects. The subjects of this research were two students majoring in English class of 2020 at a private campus in South Kalimantan. This study finds the conclusion that the use of films with English subtitles as a strategy for teaching vocabulary independently can help students to master English vocabulary in a fun and interesting way because students enjoy and are motivated to learn vocabulary.

Abstract

Perpustakaan keliling Sragen merupakan media yang menjadi strategi dalam menumbuhkembangkan budaya gemar membaca peserta didik. Melalui kegiatan ini peserta didik mampu menumbuhkembangkan semangat dalam membudayakan gemar membaca di lingkungan sekolah karena mereka dapat membaca buku dengan banyak jenisnya dan dapat mengeksplorasi pengetahuan yang luas yang akan mereka dapatkan ketika membaca buku melalui perpustakaan keliling. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkembangkan budaya gemar membaca peserta didik di SDN Dawung 3 yang diaplikasikan melalui perpustakaan keliling Sragen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif ranah Studi Kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa SDN Dawung 3 yang berjumlah 80 peserta didik. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang peneliti lakukan, untuk perpustakaan sekolah sudah tersedia sebelumnya tetapi pengelolaan buku yang tidak memadai sesuai kebutuhan peserta didik. Sehingga, dengan penelitian ini mampu menciptakan inovasi nyata yang baru untuk menumbuhkembangkan budaya gemar membaca melalui perpustakaan keliling Sragen di SDN Dawung 3.

Abstract

Abstract. Playgroups (KB) and Kindergartens (TK) are one of the early childhood education units carried out by providing educational stimuli to help physical and mental growth and development so that children have readiness to enter further education. TK ABA 18 Madiun City is an early childhood education unit owned by the Muhammadiyah Association. In line with the development of the school, promotion is considered necessary to strengthen the school's branding. The community service undertaken by the Muhammadiyah Madiun University team this time focuses on creating social media content. Social media, especially Instagram, is a means of publication used by TK ABA 18 Madiun City. The obstacle in the publication process carried out by TK ABA 18 is the lack of manpower and limitations in managing information that will be published through social media. This service uses a descriptive method, to be able to explore what deep information is needed by the partners. The results of community service that can be seen are an increase in the ability of teachers to manage social media both content creation and Instagram display upgrades. At the beginning of the observation team there were only 7 posts, currently it has reached 35. The increase in the number of followers also occurred from the beginning of only 72 to 191. and the most important thing is the active involvement of the school committee in content management.   Abstrak. Kelompok Bermain (KB) maupun Taman kanak – kanak (TK) merupakan salah satu satuan Pendidikan anak usia dini yang dilakukan melalui pemberian rangsangan pendidikan untuk membantu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan jasmani dan rohani agar anak memiliki kesiapan dalam memasuki pendidikan lebih lanjut. TK ABA 18 Kota Madiun merupakan satuan Pendidikan anak usia dini yang dimiliki oleh Persyarikatan Muhammadiyah. Sejalan dengan berkembangnya sekolah, maka promosi dirasa perlu dilakukan agar branding sekolah lebih kuat. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang di lakukan oleh Tim Universitas Muhammadiyah Madiun kali ini berfokus pada pembuatan konten media sosial. Media sosial khususnya Instagram menjadi sarana publikasi yang digunakan oleh TK ABA 18 Kota Madiun. Hal yang menjadi kendala pada proses publikasi yang di lakukan oleh pihak TK ABA 18 adalah minimnya tenaga dan keterbatasan dalam pengelolaan informasi yang akan di publikasikan lewat media sosial. Pengadian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif, untuk dapat menggali informasi yang dalam apa saja yang dibutuhkan oleh pihak mitra. Hasil pengabdian Masyarakat yang bisa terlihat adalah peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam mengelola media sosial baik pembuatan konten maupun upgrade tampilan Instagram. Pada awal tim observasi hanya terdapat 7 postingan, saat ini sudah mencapai 35. Peningkatan jumlah pengikut juga terjadi dari awal hanya 72 menjadi 191.dan yang paling penting adalah adanya keterlibatan aktif komite sekolah dalam pengelolaan konten.

Abstract

Abstraksi Penelitian ini mengkaji relevansi dan efektivitas strategi komunikasi dakwah berbasis kearifan lokal dalam menghadapi dinamika dakwah multikultural di era digital. Generasi muda, khususnya Gen Z, sebagai digital natives memiliki pola komunikasi yang singkat, visual, dan interaktif sehingga memerlukan pendekatan baru dalam penyampaian pesan keagamaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan systematic literature review (SLR) terhadap artikel dan jurnal terakreditasi terbitan 2020–2025. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kearifan lokal tetap relevan sebagai media dakwah apabila dikontekstualisasikan ke dalam format digital seperti video pendek, meme budaya, dan storytelling visual. Temuan juga menegaskan bahwa efektivitas dakwah ditentukan oleh sejauh mana pesan memenuhi kebutuhan kognitif, afektif, identitas, dan integrasi sosial audiens muda sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam teori Uses and Gratifications (U&G). Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya inovasi komunikasi dakwah yang kreatif, partisipatif, dan berbasis budaya agar pesan keagamaan tetap otentik sekaligus mampu diterima generasi muda di masyarakat multikultural. Abstract This study explores the relevance and effectiveness of local wisdom-based communication strategies in addressing the dynamics of multicultural da’wah in the digital era. Young people, particularly Generation Z as digital natives, communicate in short, visual, and interactive formats, requiring new approaches to religious messaging. This study applies a qualitative method through a systematic literature review (SLR) of accredited journal articles published between 2020 and 2025. Findings indicate that local wisdom remains relevant when contextualized into digital formats such as short videos, cultural memes, and visual storytelling. The study also highlights that the effectiveness of da’wah depends on the extent to which messages fulfill cognitive, affective, identity, and social integration needs of young audiences, as explained by the Uses and Gratifications (U&G) theory. This research emphasizes the importance of creative, participatory, and culture-based communication innovations to ensure religious messages remain authentic and relevant to younger generations in multicultural societies.

Abstract

The art of reog an warok in Ponorogo Regency is a community culture formed through a long historical process. Amid the onslaught of foreign cultures, reog Ponorogo still exists as an artistic tradition and is in demand by the community. Commodification is an unavoidable phenomenon in the era of globalization, where an object is converted into a selling value. Culture is inseparable from commodification, where economic value is the main attraction in commodification. This research aims to reveal and describe the various strategies of the commodification of reog and work arts in the Ponorogo Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The research data collection used in-depth interview techniques, observation, and documentation studies. The research analysis was conducted inductively, and the data validity technique used source triangulation. The results of this study are, the art of reog Ponorogo has experienced commodification where the Ponorogo Regency government makes reog a symbol of tourism, which aims to present to source of regional income. Commodification and the existence of tradition in the art of reog Ponorogo can go hand in hand, despite the shift in orientation but reog art is still attached as the identity of the people of Ponorogo Regency.
