Abstract

This study is intended to depict how impression learning (IL) principles were fused into an English class in an Indonesian Islamic elementary school and how the students' grammar skills were fostered during and after the learning process. This research implemented a classroom practice-based model to explore the delivery of IL programs, specifically focusing on teaching the preposition of places through the concept of singular and plural using simple present continuous tense to young learners. The IL principles were a combination of Talqiyyan Fikriyyan and inductive learning to make the teaching-learning process active, student-centered, and felt by pupils. A case study was also used to investigate various aspects of a particular phenomenon, including teaching steps, teacher-students dialogues, and student engagement in the learning process. Moreover, concrete materials were intentionally deliberated to stimulate students' senses, thus adding a unique dimension to the study. In addition, two intervention sessions were designed in which each intervention consisted of (a) teaching grammar from specific to general and (b) twelve steps of teaching IL principles (opening the class by giving a prayer, motivating and reminding the rules of learning, remembering the previous lesson, asking the students' prior knowledge related to the material and mentioning the lesson objective, stimulating students' interest in learning by observe and imitate, saying the sentences, installing the Islamic value, engaging students to play words card game, giving some rewards, question and answer, explaining the material comprehensively, and reflection). Hence, this study provides an alternative model of teaching grammar to young learners.

Abstract

In the 21st century, a hoax is one of the biggest problems in the world, especially in Indonesia. The post-truth phenomenon and the ease of disseminating information on social media are the primary triggers for this case. Moreover, this disruption era is marked by a flood of information, rapid change, and high use of internet technology. This research intends to analyze the importance of digital literacy, especially critical thinking (CT) culture, in preventing hoax news. A literature review is employed in this research. This method explains how CT skills can be used in digital literacy. The results underscore several points: a) the urgency of digital literacy is based on a big problem in the digital world in Indonesia, namely hoaxes; b) digital literacy can be applied in tips such as those discussed by Facione (1998) regarding the six CT skills that require technical and theoretical skills; c) emphasize technical skills in assessing account identities or media that produce information by Nagler (2017); and d) there are several opportunities for implementing digital literacy. Hence, this research concludes the importance of instilling CT skills in fighting hoax news or misinformation. Apart from that, if we look at the data regarding the low level of digital literacy in Indonesian society, it is urgent to implement digital literacy methods and CT skills integrated with educational institutions or more formal policies.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the skills that each individual must have, especially when facing the increasingly rapid development of the era. This skill should be instilled in primary education. To answer this challenge, various strategies can be used to develop this skill, one of which is Philosophy for Children (P4C). This study aims to analyze the use of P4C in various countries and strategies for conducting the P4C. This study is an initial step in offering P4C using the literature review method. The study results show that P4C can be effectively implemented in several countries and has even been included in the national curriculum. Therefore, the study provides educators and stakeholders insight into the P4C program.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Talqiyan Fikriyan method across various educational levels, explore its implementation strategies, and identify its impact on students’ morals, character, and learning motivation. This research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method following the PRISMA guidelines. Literature searches were conducted across several databases: ERIC, ScienceDirect, DOAJ, Scopus (via Publish or Perish), Google Scholar, and ProQuest, covering publications from January 2021 to June 2025. Out of 24 identified articles, seven met the criteria relevant to the research topic. The results indicated that the application of Talqiyan Fikriyan was often combined with various other learning approaches at different levels of Islamic education. Additionally, Talqiyan Fikriyan contributed to the development of students’ logical, analytical, and solution-oriented thinking skills. In terms of morals and character, this method effectively shaped individuals to be honest, responsible, empathetic, and possess noble character. Moreover, the implementation of this method also encourages an increase in students’ learning motivation, as pupils demonstrated enthusiastic, active, and confident attitudes during learning activities. The learning environment created through this method fosters an enjoyable and conducive atmosphere for students’ intellectual and spiritual development. These findings suggest that the Talqiyan Fikriyan method has the potential to become an effective learning model in Islamic education, cultivating intelligent and well-characterised future generations.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the development and conceptual direction of Digital Islam through a Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis. Data were collected from Scopus (2020-2025) with an exclusive focus on the primary keyword “Digital Islam” to provide a more specific and in-depth perspective. Of the 561 articles collected, only four were included in the review analysis stage. The results indicate that academic interest in the study of Digital Islam remains relatively low; however, the topic is steadily increasing, suggesting that this field remains a significant and rapidly growing area of research. Geographically, the research is dominated by contributions from Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, the United States, and Morocco. These findings demonstrate that countries with Muslim-majority populations do not solely dominate the issue of Digital Islam. In addition, Digital Islam, developed from four published studies, presents an integrative framework that links religious authority, digital media, identity, gender, economic transformation, and socio-cultural issues. Theoretically, this research contributes to the development of a conceptual foundation for future studies of Digital Islam. Practically, the results offer valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and religious institutions to navigate the ethical challenges and opportunities of the digital era
