Abstract

In the 2019 Legislative Election there were 19 parties participating in the election contest, of which 4 new parties passed, while in the 2024 Legislative Election there were 24 parties that passed, including 4 new parties, one of which was the Gelora Party and in South Sulawesi only 18 parties passed the election. This research aims to (1) describe the Gelora Party's communication planning in obtaining legislative seats. (2) describes the implementation of Gelora Party communications to obtain legislative seats. This research was carried out at the Gelora Party DPW Office, South Sulawesi. Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses qualitative methods with a narrative or descriptive qualitative study approach. The results of the research show that the Gelora Party's Political Communication Strategy as a New Party in the 2023 General Election continues to implement a political communication strategy in winning legislative seats, where means of supporting political communication such as creative and up-to-date social media content to support the popularity of legislative candidates, a persuasive approach is still dominant. The Gelora Party and its image as a Nationalist Party became an obstacle in gaining support from other religious groups.

Abstract

In handling the crisis, the Regional Government of Penajam Paser Utara Regency carried out crisis identification first, carried out rapid research into the phenomena that occurred by observing the situation so that crisis management was right on target. Crisis analysis is also carried out, namely the regional government analyzes the data that has been collected to take strategic steps. The crisis communication strategies applied in this crisis case are 1) Diminish strategies, namely by means of justification and excuse strategies, 2) Rebuild strategies, namely by means of compensation, apology, and 3) Reinforcing / Bolstering strategies, namely by means of victimage. There are several factors inhibiting the implementation of crisis communication, including a lack of transparency or openness towards communication carried out by the Regional Government. Researchers recommend forming a team to handle the crisis that occurred. As well as the Regional Government to be more active in communicating or having direct contact with ASN, especially those at staff level.

Abstract

Currently, print media is starting to be abandoned because most people have digital media as a place to find news. This is felt by Kaltim Post which indirectly requires it to adapt to changes in behavior in society in reading news today. For this reason, this research aims to determine the Kaltim Post Editorial Strategy in Maintaining Existence in the Digital Media Era. This research uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews. In data collection, this research had five key informants. The results obtained in this research are that Kaltim Post is proven to have used a media conversion strategy to be able to maintain their existence in the current digital era.

Abstract

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Strategi Herald Sulsel Dalam Menangkal Informasi Hoax di Era Disrupsi Media dilakukan dengan beberapa strategi, yakni Verifikasi Fakta (Fact-Checking), Pendidikan Kode Jurnalistik, Transparansi Sumber, Respons Cepat, Hukum dan Sanksi, serta Monitoring Media Sosial. Hasil dari pelaksanaan strategi Herald Sulsel sebagai media online membawa dampak positif. Perlu diingat bahwa tidak ada solusi tunggal untuk menangkal hoax di era disrupsi media. Diperlukan upaya bersama dari pihak-pihak terkait, termasuk media online, pemerintah, dan masyarakat untuk menciptakan lingkungan media yang lebih aman dan dapat dipercaya

Abstract

This study aims to determine how communication patterns in the Human Resources Development Staffing Agency of Penajam Paser Utara Regency where the communication pattern itself is a very important part in conveying information from a leader to his subordinates, which includes a source of information, as a memory center for the organization and the creation of ideas or ideas in order to achieve the desired goals of the company or agency. This research also focuses on four communication patterns, namely primary, secondary, linear, and circular communication patterns. The results showed that the government officials at the Human Resources Development Staffing Agency of Penajam Paser Utara Regency were quite capable of using secondary, linear, and circular communication patterns in their daily communication processes, but in using primary communication patterns there was an imbalance between the use of verbal and nonverbal symbols in it, so that it makes the communication process that occurs less effective, and this will also affect the level of performance in the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency of North Penajam Paser Regency, because if the communication patterns carried out can run well, it will make the performance at the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency of North Penajam Paser Regency be maximized and as expected.

Abstract

Social media as a tools of e-government implementation, several of studied show that by using social media is significantly able to change the interaction between the government and citizens. The interaction increase administrative transparency and encourage citizens to collaborate in development agenda setting, facilitate mobilization for strengthening public policies, and facilitate public services produced jointly between citizens and the government. The citizens have ownership and to participate in maintaining the government policies. This study aims to describe the policy of the government in Makassar City, and development of e-government using social media which is based on the weak phenomenon of e-government development in Makassar City, particularly with the smart city plan since 2014. The method used is an assessment of the use of official social media platforms and e-government development policies in Makassar City. The research locus is the Makassar City Communication and Information Office, which is the center for disseminating official information of the Makassar City Government. The results showed that the development of e-government in Makassar City is still very limited, in terms of regulation there is no support for institutional strengthening of e-government, no e-government master plan as an implementation guideline and no e-government application system blue print, as a basis or standard for application development to achieve an integrated platform.

Abstract

This study aims to: knowing the management strategy of Rakyat Sulsel Daily in creating brand awareness as a political reference newspaper in South Sulawesi; knowing the supporting factors of Rakyat Sulsel Daily management strategy in creating brand awareness. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the research results, it was found that: 1) There are six management strategies of Rakyat Sulsel Daily in creating brand awareness as a political reference newspaper in South Sulawesi. First, strengthening brand identity. Second, increasing visibility. Third, creating a media ecosystem. Fourth, the hyperlocal approach. Fifth, doing media convergence. Sixth, door-to-door marketing.There are three factors supporting the media management strategy of Rakyat Sulsel Daily in creating brand awareness as a political reference newspaper in South Sulawesi, namely human resource support, complete and adequate facilities and infrastructure, and the application of four management functions, namely planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling.

Abstract

This research investigates communication strategies between the residents of Nusantara Capital City developmental areas and other groups as they continue grappling with social conflict after the relocation to East Kalimantan. This research was carried out at Security and Social, Cultural, and Community Development of Nusantara Capital City Authority, Deputy. Record data was undertaken through the following processes: face to face interviews with informants, observation and documentation to acquire the necessary data. This type of research employs qualitative research. This study findings establish the fact that most social issues affecting residents and leading to conflict can be dealt with by the strategies employed by the Nusantara Capital Authority through the Deputy Social, Cultural and Community Empowerment. The techniques employed in dealing with social conflict within residents that have been displaced by development of the Nusantara Capital City are are categorized under communication strategies currently classified as informative, persuasive, instructive and human relations communication. Of the strategies involved in the approach, persuasive communication strategies are predominant in managing social conflicts that occur among residents who are affected by the development of the Nusantara Capital City and can influence drastic changes in the behaviour of some of the affected residents who are against development of the Nusantara Capital City. Some of the key determinants for impact of communicable goals type of strategy are Credibility/ Trust; Clear Message and Media used for conveying information, social media as well as the electronic media.

Abstract

This research was carried out at the Wajo Regency DPRD Secretariat. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Based on the results of field research regarding the role of the protocol section of the Wajo district DPRD secretariat in preparing the agenda for the Wajo district DPRD secretariat, it can be concluded that the role of the protocol and leadership communication section is not good and really needs to be improved, especially on the Problem-Solving Process Facilitator indicator. Problem Solving Process) and Communications Technician (Communications Technician). Some of the problems that arise are not just practical negligence of protocol, but include changes in the schedule, unpreparedness of the protocol apparatus in the field, the wishes of the leadership, lack of protocol competence, conditions at the event venue and other factors. However, due to the presence of alertness and good coordination so far, the gaps that have occurred can be resolved and do not cause significant qualitative problems using the interview method.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Instagram usage, specifically likes, comments, and shares, on the self-esteem of students from the English Education Study Program (PBI) at Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM), class of 2022. A total of 74 respondents were selected using purposive sampling, with the criteria of being active Instagram users. The data was collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using t-test. The results from Instagram likes show a significance value of 0.000 (less than 0.05) and a t-count of 4.675 (greater than the t-table value of 1.99254), indicating that Instagram likes significantly affect students' self-esteem. The significance value of 0.002 (less than 0.05) and a t-count of 3.276 (greater than the t-table value of 1.99254) show that Instagram comments also significantly affect self-esteem. The significance value for Instagram shares is 0.002, with a t-count of 3.273, indicating that shares also significantly influence students' self-esteem. The conclusion of this study shows that interactions on Instagram, such as likes, comments, and shares, have a positive and significant impact on the self-esteem of PBI UNM class of 2022 students. This study supports the media ecology theory, suggesting that interactions on Instagram, such as likes, comments, and shares, help build self-identity and strengthen social connections, which ultimately leads to an increase in students' self-esteem.
