Abstract

In 2022, the As-Syafiiyah Islamic University in Jakarta's Islamic Education Program held a community service program in Singaraja Village, Indramayu District, West Java. The goal of this event is to: (1) encourage Islamic Elementary School (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) teachers to implement a curriculum-based approach to teaching the Science of Qur'anic Recitation (The Science of Qur'anic Tajweed), (2) motivate elementary school teachers to make the Science of Qur'anic Recitation enjoyable and accessible, and (3) inspire students. The most common method is participatory delegation, in which citizens and leaders collaborate to provide public services. The conference will be held in September 2023, with 60 students, 7 lecturers, 37 Natural Resources (SDA) teachers from 9 schools, and 11 student classes participating. The findings of this study show that: 1) students benefited long-term from implementing a classroom learning strategy; 2) students felt helped in understanding the Science of Qur'anic Recitation (The Science of Qur'anic Tajweed), became more interactive in their learning, and believed that the Science of Qur'anic Recitation is not difficult; and 3) students believed that the Science of Qur'anic Recitation is not difficult. 3) The majority of Islamic Elementary School (MI) teachers in Singaraja Village, Indramayu District, do not yet understand the implementation of problem-based learning and project-based learning approaches; 4) The majority of MI teachers in Singaraja Village, Indramayu District, continue to struggle with composing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions; 5) Some teachers struggle with solving literacy-related questions; and 6) Positive responses were received from students.

Abstract

This research investigates the implementation of Islamic banking as a means to support da’wah, emphasizing the role of Islamic banks not only as financial institutions but also as platforms for disseminating Islamic values and promoting societal welfare. The study employs a mixed-method approach, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methods to provide a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the phenomenon. Findings reveal that public awareness of the principles of Islamic banking remains relatively low. However, most customers of Islamic rural banks (BPR) in the Jabodetabek area perceive that Islamic banks have successfully implemented Islamic banking principles. This study further demonstrates that the social and economic impact of Islamic banking aligns strongly with the goals of Islamic da’wah by offering halal financial transaction alternatives and enhancing the connection between Islamic banking and Islamic da’wah. Key implications include the need for intensified education and socialization efforts, involvement of all stakeholders as educational agents, reinforcement of the Sharia Supervisory Board’s (DPS) role, improved transparency and justice, expanded outreach, and strengthened alignment between Islamic banking practices and da’wah objectives. This research contributes to understanding Islamic banking as an instrument for economic-based da’wah, highlighting its potential to influence financial behavior in alignment with Islamic principles.

Abstract

This article delves into the intricate relationship between religion and patriotism, focusing on Islam's influence on the affection for one's homeland. It explores how Islamic teachings and beliefs have historically shaped and continue to shape the concept of patriotism among Muslims worldwide. Within Muslim-majority nations, the integration of Sharia, promotion of religious freedom, and commitment to social justice define the contours of Islamic patriotism. Moreover, the concept of Ummah coexists harmoniously with a deep-rooted sense of responsibility towards the local homeland, fostering a collective spirit of belonging and shared societal welfare. In the context of Muslim minorities residing in non-Muslim-majority countries, the study reveals a delicate balance between religious identity and active citizenship. These communities exhibit resilience and positive engagement, contributing significantly to the social fabric of their host nations while upholding Islamic principles of compassion, tolerance, and mutual respect. The research also highlights the global dimension of Islamic patriotism, emphasizing pan-Islamic solidarity and cooperation among Muslim communities worldwide. By employing a multidisciplinary approach, this study utilizes three primary research methods: literature review, ethnographic research, and the analysis of social discourse. Throughout the article, the interplay of faith and love for the homeland is explored, demonstrating the adaptability of Islamic principles to diverse social landscapes and the enduring pursuit of social harmony, justice, and unity. This comprehensive analysis contributes valuable insights into the complex interrelationship between Islam and patriotism, transcending geographical boundaries and inspiring a shared commitment to the principles of compassion and coexistence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruksi ketahanan spiritual (spiritual resilience) dalam Hadis Bukhari No. 131 tentang perumpamaan pohon kurma sebagai representasi Muslim ideal. Melalui pendekatan hermeneutika tematik dan analisis psikologi positif, studi ini mengungkap bagaimana konsep resilience dalam Islam tidak hanya bersifat reaktif, tetapi juga proaktif melalui karakteristik keteguhan (tsabat), konsistensi (istimrar), dan produktivitas bermakna (istithmar). Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metafora pohon kurma menawarkan paradigma holistik tentang ketahanan spiritual yang terintegrasi dengan ekosistem sosial, berbeda dengan konsep resilience Barat yang cenderung individualistik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan interdisipliner terhadap teks hadis dapat mengungkap dimensi psikospiritual yang relevan dengan pengembangan karakter di era kontemporer.

Abstract

Perkembangan media, baik tradisional maupun digital, serta kompleksitas masyarakat multikultural menuntut pendekatan dakwah yang tidak hanya efektif tetapi juga tetap berlandaskan pada prinsip-prinsip fiqh yang relevan. Dakwah kontemporer juga dihadapkan pada tantangan isu-isu seperti radikalisme dan intoleransi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis integrasi fiqh dakwah dengan pemanfaatan media teknologi, penerapannya dalam masyarakat multikultural, serta formulasi solutifnya terhadap isu-isu kontemporer. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan (library research), yang menganalisis konsep-konsep fiqh dakwah, etika media, dan sosiologi masyarakat multikultural. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif-kritis. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa: (1) Fiqh dakwah memberikan kerangka etis untuk memanfaatkan media tradisional dan digital, menekankan pada prinsip hasanah (kebajikan) dan mujadalah (debat yang baik). (2) Dalam masyarakat multikultural, fiqh dakwah bersifat adaptif, mengedepankan moderasi dan penghormatan terhadap perbedaan budaya tanpa mengorbankan prinsip dasar ajaran. (3) Pendekatan fiqh yang kontekstual mampu merumuskan solusi dakwah untuk melawan narasi radikalisme dan intoleransi melalui penegasan moderasi beragama. (4) Simulasi studi kasus membuktikan bahwa solusi berbasis fiqh dapat dioperasionalkan secara praktis. Integrasi fiqh dakwah dengan media teknologi dan pendekatan multikultural bukan hanya sebuah keniscayaan, tetapi juga strategi efektif untuk menjadikan dakwah lebih relevan, kontekstual, dan solutif dalam menjawab tantangan zaman. Diperuhkan pendalaman terus-menerus terhadap fiqh dakwah yang responsif terhadap dinamika sosial-media.
