Abstract

Ants, which are members of the Formicidae family, have been the subject of considerable scientific scrutiny due to their remarkable diversity and ecological importance. Extensive research endeavors have been directed towards understanding the complex behaviors and ecological responsibilities exhibited by these organisms. The advent of cutting-edge sequencing technology in recent times has sparked a significant breakthrough in the deciphering of mitochondrial genomes in many animals, including ants. The objective of this review paper is to provide an informative summary of the mitochondrial DNA of ants. Exploring the intricate structural aspects, we investigate the genetic diversity that exists in the mitochondrial genomes of ants. The investigation of evolutionary processes provides insight into the complex alterations that have shaped genomes throughout time. The broader ramifications of these genetic differences for the fields of ant biology and conservation are thoroughly considered. An examination is conducted on the structural characteristics, genetic variations, and evolutionary features of ant mitochondrial genomes, along with an investigation into their physiological impacts. As the molecular complexities of ant mitochondrial genomes are revealed, there is an opportunity to further explore their realm, leading to a more comprehensive comprehension of these extraordinary organisms.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a powerful technology that has the potential to transform education. This study aims to comprehensively understand students' perspectives on using AI within educational settings to gain insights about the role of AI in education and investigate their perceptions regarding the advantages, challenges, and expectations associated with integrating AI into the learning process. We analyzed the student responses from a survey that targeted students from diverse academic backgrounds and educational levels. The results show that, in general, students have a positive perception of AI and believe AI is beneficial for education. However, they are still concerned about some of the drawbacks of using AI. Therefore, it is necessary to take steps to minimize the negative impact while continuing to take advantage of the advantages of AI in education.

Abstract

Plants have been widely utilized as traditional medicine for an extended period of time. Numerous traditional remedies have demonstrated inherent anti-disease properties. Among the countries that extensively rely on traditional medicine, Indonesia stands out. Within the region of North Sulawesi, Indonesia, Ficus minahassae, an indigenous plant possessing several health benefits, is utilized by the local community as a traditional medicinal resource. This plant is employed for the treatment of various ailments such as rheumatism, physical discomfort, stimulation of lactation in breastfeeding women, bruises, relapse, fever, fatigue, migraines, bodily pain, headaches, convulsions, colds, coughs, influenza, and fractures. Typically, the leaves, roots, and stems of F. minahassae are boiled and consumed. Additionally, this plant has been reported to possess antibacterial and antioxidant properties. However, scientific investigations exploring the health advantages of F. minahassae are significantly limited in comparison to other traditional medicines. Consequently, it is highly recommended to conduct further research on the health benefits associated with this plant.

Abstract

Calotropis gigantea is a medicinal herb that thrives in arid climates. All parts of this plant are rich in secondary metabolites, which are very beneficial for health. Phytochemicals of this plant include flavonoid, alkaloids, steroids, cardiac glycosides, and terpenoids, which have a wide range of pharmacological effects. The potential of metabolit compound from C. gigantea can be used in dental treatment. This review describes the potential use of C. gigantea in ethno-dentistry, specifically as anti-caries, soft tissue inflammation (periodontitis and gingivitis), degenerative diseases (tumor/cancer), and wound healing. This review provides general perspectives and basic literature on the use of C. gigantea in the field of etno-dentistry.
