his research aims to reveal the service-based learning (service learning) in social care building ofÂ santri (student) on Pondok Pesantren Al Urwatul Wustqo Jombang dan Darussalam Kediri, with a focus on covering the implication of service learning for social care building of student on Pondok Pesantren Al Urwatul Wutsqo Jombang and Sumbersari Kediri.This research employs a qualitative approach with a multisite study design. Data collection is carried out using in-depth interview, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. Checking the validity of the finding is carried out by extension of participation; triangulation technique of sources, theories, and methods; and persistence of observation. The research informants are the pesantren caretakers, the ustadzah (teachers), students and the society.The implication (impact) of service learning on Â caring character building of student is experiencing very positive changes. It proven by the research finding. Student who has participated in service learning has experienced change mainly in term of caring for others. This form of caring can be seen from several indicators as follows: they have compassion feeling whaen their friend is sick. Thus, they take care for that friend, the emergence of a sense of brotherhood, protect their friends from bullying the others, they are more sensitive to what is going on around them, they help without having to ask, their respect to the teacher increase.

This paper explains the process of existence of Islamic boarding school-based Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in the digital era, as Islamic boarding schools are educational institutions with quite impressive historical conditions because Islamic boarding schools can adapt to developments over time and have been proven to be academic institutions that are acceptable across society. This research uses a qualitative case study approach, interview techniques, observation, and documentation to collect data so that data analysis can be carried out. Researchers use Yin data analysis with four patterns, including pattern matching. Second, build clarity/explanation. Third, time series analysis. Fourth is repeated observation and data wetness testing through data triangulation, including methods, sources, and theory. The results of the research show that there are several efforts made by the Ibtidaiyah madrasah based on the Miftahun Ulum Kesamben Wetan Driyorejo Islamic boarding school, namely by strengthening synergy between all parties in the madrasah and outside the madrasah, as well as strengthening several conditions, including First, increasing teacher professionalism. The second is carrying out curriculum development. Third, strengthening student character as stated in the madrasa mission, and fourth, promoting literacy programs to answer challenges in the digital era.

The spread of radicalism in educational institutions, particularly in Islamic boarding schools, is often attributed to institutional leaders who promote a rigid interpretation of religion. The pivotal role of Kiai (Islamic scholars or leaders) and teachers in these schools is central to developing students’ attitudes toward Rahmatan lil alamin (mercy for all creation) and fostering a moderate perspective. As a role model, Kiai plays a significant role in cultivating a sense of moderation among Santri (students). This article aims to describe and analyze the leadership strategies employed by Kiai in this context. The research adopts a qualitative design with a case study approach and was conducted at the Amanatul Ummah Islamic Boarding School in Pacet, Mojokerto, East Java. The findings highlight several key strategies Kiai Asep Saifuddin Chalim implemented, including strengthening Nahdatul Ulama traditions, implementing a rigorous selection process for teachers and Staff, adhering to fundamental principles of success, and integrating moderate values into the school curriculum. Furthermore, the Kiai’s exemplary leadership supports the development of a wise and balanced attitude among Santri.

This community service aims to improve the understanding and practice of worship through the Sulam At-Taufiq book for students at Al Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic Boarding School in Jombang. This activity focuses on assisting santri in understanding the text of the book and practicing thaharah and prayer correctly. The method used includes a comprehensive and interactive approach through seven stages: identification of needs, pre-test, program design, classical learning, selection of superior santri as companions, worship practices, and evaluation and follow-up. The results of the service showed a significant improvement in the ability of santri to read and understand the Sulam At-Taufiq book, including the ability to interpret, analyze in terms of Nahwu and Sharaf, and understand the meaning of its contents. The students also showed an increase in skills in the practice of thaharah and prayer according to Islamic law. Supporting factors for the success of the program are the high interest and enthusiasm of the santri, while time constraints are a limiting factor. This program succeeded in creating a sustainable mentoring system by empowering senior santri as mentors

The assistance in strengthening Thoriqoh values based on the Qur'an is a strategic effort to build spiritual character rooted in Islamic principles. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of assistance in instilling Thoriqoh values aligned with Qur'anic teachings in specific communities. A qualitative approach with descriptive methods was employed through observations, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGD). The assistance was conducted in several stages, including value awareness, habituation practices, and sustainability evaluations. The findings indicate that a Qur'anic approach in Thoriqoh practices enhances participants' understanding of core Islamic values such as sincerity (ikhlas), patience (sabr), reliance on Allah (tawakkul), and love for Allah (mahabbah). Additionally, this approach strengthens participants' spiritual connection with the Qur'an by integrating relevant verses into each Thoriqoh practice. This study recommends a Qur'anic-based assistance model as an alternative for developing Islamic character that is practical and sustainable, especially in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and religious communities

This study describes the implementation of a service learning program at Al Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic Boarding School as a form of community service for the students. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach and collecting data through interviews and documents, the research findings indicate that the program has followed ideal procedures. However, there is a need to improve the monitoring and evaluation system for better structure. Service learning has proven effective in shaping the religious moderation character of the students, focusing on providing moderation education, group interactions, community service in diverse settings, and reflective learning. The primary recommendation involves enhancing the capacity of field supervisors and partner institutions to maximize their facilitating role in developing students' moderation. The development of digital technology, particularly the use of gadgets and social media, has brought significant changes to the world of education, including in shaping students' attitudes towards teachers. This study aims to analyze the impact of gadgets and social media use on students' attitudes towards teachers at MA Syafi'iyah Terpadu Ngoro Jombang. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model that included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was maintained through triangulation of sources and methods. The results showed that the use of gadgets and social media had a dual impact on students' morale towards teachers. The negative impacts found included a decline in learning concentration, discipline, and students' communication ethics towards teachers. However, the use of gadgets and social media also had a positive impact when used wisely as a learning support tool. Madrasahs' efforts to overcome the negative impacts are carried out through the enforcement of rules and regulations, character building, and continuous guidance for students. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating character education with digital literacy in Islamic education so that the use of technology remains in line with Islamic values

This study aims to analyze the formation of students’ religious character through the tahfidz Al-Qur’an program at Al-Azhar Islamic Boarding School, Mojowarno, Jombang. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of religious character education within the pesantren context. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, involving the pesantren leader, tahfidz instructors, and students as research participants. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation, while data analysis followed an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that students’ religious character is developed through the integration of religious habituation, exemplary behavior, and consistent discipline in daily pesantren life. The tahfidz Al-Qur’an program plays a significant role in shaping students’ religious character, including discipline, honesty, patience, consistency (istiqamah), and responsibility. Activities such as memorization submission, repetition (muroja’ah), and recitation evaluation (tasmi’) function not only as memorization assessments but also as effective means of internalizing religious values into students’ behavior. This study confirms that the tahfidz Al-Qur’an program serves not merely as a memorization activity but as an effective instrument for religious character education in Islamic boarding schools
