Abstract

Twitter user attitude towards sharia fintech research provides an intriguing glimpse into perceptions and responses to sharia-based financial innovation. According to an analysis of 2,131 tweets, the bulk of attitudes were neutral (80.8%), followed by positive sentiments (16.2%), and the least were negative sentiments (3%). These findings paint an intriguing picture of how users react to sharia-compliant fintech concepts. The predominance of neutral attitude may indicate that the majority of Twitter users are not yet completely engaged with or have a neutral opinion of sharia fintech. This could be due to a lack of knowledge about the concept or a lack of direct connection with Islamic financial channels. The presence of strong positive sentiment, on the other hand, suggests interest in and support for this endeavour. There may be a view that sharia fintech can give a more ethical and in line with Islamic financial principles alternative. The unfavourable mood that has evolved, however, cannot be disregarded. Opinions opposing sharia fintech can stem from a variety of sources, including questions about its compatibility with authentic sharia principles or concerns about the hazards and security of its use. It is critical to understand the causes of unfavourable attitude and to improve education and transparency about sharia fintech. Overcoming questions and fears may necessitate an all-inclusive strategy to regulation, outreach, and risk management. In this approach, it can increase user trust and knowledge of the existence and benefits of sharia fintech in the current financial environment.

Abstract

Like other traditional art forms, Kompangan in Jambi Seberang faces challenges in the preservation and transmission of culture due to globalization and changes in social patterns. Despite its cultural significance, research on the strategies used by local groups to maintain and promote this community is limited. The research gap includes the lack of detailed studies of the role of certain community groups, such as the Ulu Gedong, in preserving Kompangan and the mechanisms of cultural transmission within these groups. This research aims to fill these gaps by delving deeper into the history of Kompangan as a musical instrument and the roles of the Ulu Gendong Group in preserving the Kompangan as a traditional Malay art in Jambi Seberang. By using anthropological research, the results of this study indicate that Kompangan art is part of Malay Islamic culture and traditional musicals of Jambi Province, especially from Jambi Seberang. Immigrants from the Middle East have brought Kompangan. Sambilan Group was founded in Kampung Tengah, Jambi, and that is where Kompangan got its start. Kompangan art has evolved in several districts, including Ulu Gedong. Ulu Gedong, Riyatul Jannah, Riyatul Abedin, and Al-Hidayah are the four main Kompangan. The young generation plays a crucial role in preserving Kompang in Jambi Seberang. The goal for the next generation is to value their culture more and keep their cultural legacy alive, particularly this Kompangan art.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the marketing mix (product, price, place and promotion) and halal awareness on purchasing decisions for Mie Gacoan products in Karawang. This research is important because it combines two key factors, namely marketing strategy and halal awareness, which have not been widely studied simultaneously in the context of spicy food in Indonesia. Using descriptive quantitative methods, data from 400 respondents was analyzed using multiple linear regression. The research results show that product, place and promotion have a significant influence on purchasing decisions, while price and halal awareness do not have a significant influence. This research makes an original contribution to the sharia marketing literature by demonstrating the importance of product innovation and marketing strategies in improving purchasing decisions, while halal awareness needs to be further explored to increase its impact on Muslim consumers.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the factors influencing the adoption of cash waqf transactions by Generation Z and Millennials in East Java, Indonesia, focusing on the use of the Digital Sharia Banking System (DSBS). Implemented through a collaboration between the Badan Wakaf Indonesia (BWI) and Sharia banks utilizing financial technology (FinTech), DSBS represents an innovative approach to facilitating cash waqf transactions. The investigation involved 200 participants and utilized Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the data. The results indicate that the overall model met all the requirements. Key findings suggest that the decision or intention of Generation Z and Millennials in East Java to participate in waqf through DSBS is influenced by factors such as convenience, usefulness, and subjective norms. The study highlights that the ease and benefits of using DSBS for cash waqf transactions are the most crucial factors driving the growth of cash waqf in the region. Integrating the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the research reveals that while perceived usefulness is a significant driver for positive attitudes and intentions to use DSBS, ease of use and behavioral control do not significantly impact these attitudes or intentions. Therefore, enhancing the perceived usefulness of DSBS is recommended as a more effective approach to promote its use in waqf transactions.

Abstract

This research delves into the effect of collective beliefs and anticipations regarding investment cooperation, technological progression, and administrative governance on fostering sustainable income through the Waqf Integrated Income Generating Model (WIIGM). The study, grounded in the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), empirically assesses public perceptions of the WIIGM. A survey conducted among 100 participants through convenience sampling and online questionnaires provides the data, which is analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling to test hypotheses. Prior ethical approval was secured for data collection. Findings from this study highlight that sustainable income is positively influenced by investment collaboration and governance, but not by technological advancements. In terms of building trust (behavioral intention) in the WIIGM model, technological advancement does not show a significant effect. This novel investigation offers insights into how a newly proposed integrated income model for waqf institutions could enhance community trust. The study holds substantial implications. It is intended for professionals and government officials to understand waqf's functions, positions, and potential applications, considering community trust and beliefs.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing the intention of Indonesia's sandwich generation to adopt sharia-compliant financial planning. With a focus on attitudes, knowledge, subjective norms, financial self-efficacy, and religiosity, this research aims to clarify how these elements shape the behavioral intentions of individuals responsible for financially supporting both older and younger family members. Using the Theory of Planned Behavior as a framework, the study conducted a survey across key regions of Java and applied PLS-SEM for data analysis. The findings reveal that while attitudes and knowledge have a limited direct effect on the intention to engage in sharia-compliant financial planning, subjective norms, financial self-efficacy, and religiosity exhibit a significant positive influence. These results underscore the importance of social support, personal financial confidence, and religious values in fostering sharia-compliant financial behavior within this demographic. The study provides insights for policymakers and financial institutions aiming to enhance financial literacy and sharia-compliant practices among Indonesia’s sandwich generation.

Abstract

This study was inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly after the deployment of social distancing and work from home, which impacted the viability of MSME businesses. During this pandemic, social media has been predominantly used to market and promote products. However, greater research is required to determine the extent to which social media are effective as a product promotion and marketing technique. This study investigates the impact of social media marketing and electronic word-of-mouth on the decision to purchase halal food goods from MSMEs. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed in this study, with 154 respondents (generation Z) serving as the research sample obtained using stratified sampling with a significance threshold of 5%. 65.22% of the simultaneous test findings indicated that the two independent factors concurrently and partially had a positive and statistically significant effect on purchase decisions. In addition, this research employs literature reviews to propose creative marketing communication models through social media and marketing models using Instagram for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
