Abstract

Analysis of the Implementation of the Homeless and Beggar Management Program by the Mataram City Social Affairs Office  This study examines the implementation of programs for addressing homelessness and begging by the Mataram City Social Service across seven intervention components: data collection and identification, outreach, enforcement, rehabilitation and guidance, skills training and economic empowerment, social reintegration, and evaluation and monitoring. The study employed a quantitative descriptive, perception-based design. The primary quantitative data were obtained from 20 Social Service officers directly involved in program implementation, while interviews with 10 homeless persons and beggars were used as supporting evidence. Likert-scale scores were converted into percentages and interpreted using effectiveness intervals. The overall implementation score was 76.6%, indicating an effective level. Data collection and identification received the highest score (100%), followed by social reintegration (83%) and evaluation and monitoring (82%). Outreach scored 80%, skills training and economic empowerment 73.6%, and enforcement 62.3%. Rehabilitation and guidance was the weakest component, scoring 55.6% and falling within the moderately effective category. The pattern suggests that administrative capacity, outreach, and monitoring are relatively stronger than sustained rehabilitative interventions. The study extends previous work on the implementation of Mataram City Regulation No. 5 of 2012 by comparatively mapping seven stages of service delivery from the perspectives of implementers and service recipients. The findings imply that stronger rehabilitation, continuous guidance, post-training economic support, and cross-sector coordination are required to move policy responses beyond temporary enforcement and return-to-family measures.

Abstract

Student-led literacy mentoring programs have the potential to expand children’s learning opportunities beyond formal schooling; however, evaluations of their perceived benefits, implementation processes, experienced outcomes, and supporting conditions remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate a Literacy Mentoring Program implemented by the Student Association of the Community Education Study Program in Bayan Village, North Lombok Regency, by adapting a Goal-Free Evaluation orientation. The study employed a quantitative descriptive evaluation design. The population consisted of 40 children who participated in the program, of whom 30 were selected through purposive sampling. The primary data were collected using a 30-item Likert-scale questionnaire, supported by observation and documentation. The evaluation covered five aspects: perceived changes experienced by participants (actual effects), outcomes beyond the primary program focus (unintended effects), participants’ ratings of the implementation process, perceived program benefits (program merit/worth), and contextual factors. The results showed scores of 80.22% for actual effects, 81.44% for unintended effects, 83.78% for the implementation process, 86.33% for program merit/worth, and 85.78% for contextual factors. Perceived program benefits received the highest rating, whereas perceived changes among participants received the lowest. At the item level, perceived improvement in reading fluency reached only 57.33%, substantially lower than the ratings for reading interest, self-confidence, and comprehension. These findings indicate that participants perceived the program as beneficial and supported by favorable implementation conditions. However, because the primary data were based on post-program self-reports without objective pre- and post-intervention assessments of reading performance, the findings cannot be interpreted as evidence of measurable improvement in reading ability. Future evaluations should incorporate objective reading-performance assessments and stronger evaluation designs.

Abstract

The physical learning environment constitutes an important structural condition that may support classroom organization in early childhood education. This study examined the relationship between parents’ assessments of educational facilities and infrastructure and their assessments of classroom management quality at Al Hidayah Kindergarten, Bug-Bug Village, West Lombok, Indonesia. A quantitative correlational design was employed. The population consisted of 55 parents of enrolled children, of whom 25 were selected through purposive sampling based on their familiarity with the school environment and their children’s learning experiences. Data were collected using a 32-item five-point Likert questionnaire comprising 18 items on educational facilities and infrastructure and 14 items on classroom management. Reported item-total correlations ranged from .775 to .914, while the overall questionnaire yielded a Cronbach’s alpha of .945. Preliminary assumption testing produced a Shapiro-Wilk value of (W=.928), (p=.087), and no significant deviation from linearity, (F=.559), (p=.819). Simple linear regression revealed a strong positive and statistically significant association between parental ratings of educational facilities and classroom management, (R=.834), (R^2=.695), (F(1,23)=52.520), (B=.597), (SE=.082), (t(23)=7.247), (p<.001). Thus, within this sample, 69.5% of the variance in perceived classroom management quality was accounted for by variation in perceived educational facilities in the fitted model. Parents particularly valued safety, cleanliness, environmental maintenance, teacher friendliness, and time management. However, because both constructs were assessed by the same respondents, some indicators potentially overlapped conceptually, and the sample was small and nonprobabilistic, the findings should be interpreted as a strong association between two domains of parental perception rather than as evidence of a causal effect of facilities on classroom management.

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between the Healthy Living Community Movement Program (GERMAS) and the improvement of healthy lifestyle awareness among residents of Darek Village, Central Lombok Regency. The study was motivated by the need to strengthen promotive and preventive public health strategies at the village level, particularly to reduce non-communicable disease risks through physical activity, fruit and vegetable consumption, non-smoking behavior, regular health checks, and environmental hygiene. A quantitative correlational design was employed. The sample consisted of 30 community members who were aware of or had participated in GERMAS activities. Data were collected using a 20-item Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, validity testing, reliability testing, simple linear regression, correlation, and coefficient of determination using SPSS version 25. The results show that community responses to GERMAS implementation were in the very good category, with a percentage score of 89.13%. All questionnaire items were valid because each item correlation exceeded the r table value of 0.361, and the instrument was reliable with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.950. Regression analysis produced the equation Y = 6.014 + 0.880X, with R = 0.826 and R² = 0.683. These findings indicate that GERMAS has a very strong relationship and contributes 68.3% to the improvement of healthy lifestyle awareness. Strengthening GERMAS requires continuous education, village government support, health cadre participation, and environmental facilities that enable consistent healthy living practices.
