Abstract

In the rapidly evolving educational landscape, recent technological advances have ushered in a new era of possibilities for innovative learning methodologies. This research integrates Brain-Based Learning principles with Augmented Reality (AR) technology as Arabic language teaching media. This research includes qualitative research with the type of literature. Data sources come from literature related to Augmented Reality and Brain-Based Learning. The data analysis method uses the content analysis method. The results of the study show: 1) optimisation of brain performance through the integration of Augmented Reality encourages the creation of innovative and fun learning experiences. 2) student engagement is significantly increased through active involvement of multiple senses and results in measurable improvement in learning outcomes. There are several challenges that need to be considered, namely: accessibility-related issues related to application design, the complexity of using AR systems, AR application development needs to go through iterative development cycles to accommodate diverse platform users, and the lack of pedagogical approaches when integrating AR applications into learning activities. The findings contribute to the discourse on technology integration in language education and offer practical insights for educators and policymakers who want to improve the overall effectiveness of Arabic language learning through innovative and brain-centred approaches. Abstract

Learning through games is an activity that can enhance students' inclination to engage their interests and motivation, thereby fostering a conducive learning environment. One form of game applicable in nahwu learning is the first-rank game. Implemented at Daarul Huda Li Tahfidzi Al-Quran Islamic Boarding School, this game serves as a tool for learning nahwu (Arabic syntax). This study employs descriptive qualitative research to describe the process of nahwu learning utilizing the first-rank game, along with its advantages and disadvantages in implementation. The research involves one Arabic teacher and 15 students as subjects. Data collection includes observing the nahwu learning process and conducting interviews with the Arabic teacher and twelfth-grade MA students to understand Arabic language learning. Documentation comprises the outcomes of Arabic language learning through the first-rank game. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model, encompassing three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The study reveals four stages in the nahwu learning process using the first-rank game, namely introduction, opening of learning, game preparation, game application, and closing of the learning process. Furthermore, nahwu learning packaged through this game creates an enjoyable learning atmosphere, cultivates critical thinking skills, and aids students in coordinating motor skills.

Abstract

Arabic language learning innovations are developing with various learning media, such as mindmapping. The use of mindmapping-based media can provide learning experiences for students. This research aimed to test the effectiveness of Mind Mapping concept in narrative writing skills for ethnic groups in Indonesia. A mixed research design was used with a quantitative approach to test the effectiveness of learning writing skills using Mind Mapping and a qualitative approach to identify student creativity in developing narrative paragraphs. 35 students who studied writing skills at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang in the Arabic Language Education study program were involved. The results showed that; 1) The effectiveness of Mind Mapping in narrative writing showed an increase in the average learning outcomes for writing skills to 77.91 which showed positive significance; 2) Creativity in writing narratives about Indonesian ethnic groups was identified including the distribution of the meaning of ethnic groups, characteristics of ethnic groups and examples of traditional culture, characterized by varied writing structures with the choice of various grammatical structures such as the arrangement of verbal phrases, adjectives, prepositions, adverbial attributes and nominal phrases. This article confirmed that the use of Mind Mapping for learning writing skills can develop paragraph ideas for writing skills in higher education.
