Abstract

Creating a conducive learning atmosphere is an important factor in getting full attention from students. Suppose the atmosphere in the classroom could be more conducive. In that case, it will cause students to feel bored, tired, not focused on the teacher, sleepy, and even talk to their classmates, especially when students appear to show anxiety about learning. Ice Breaking is an exciting learning media that prioritizes innovative, creative, and futuristic elements. This research aims to determine the use of the icebreaker method to increase student motivation in class XI high school mathematics subjects. The research design used was pre-experimental, namely a one-group design with pre-test and post-test (single-group pre-test and post-test design). The subjects of this research were 36 students using random quota data collection techniques. The data analysis used in this research is the product-time correlation test. The statistical technique used is Pearson product-moment correlation. The data collection tool used was the icebreaker questionnaire. The research results show that icebreaking learning significantly affects students' mathematics motivation.

Abstract

The Nahdlatul Ulama Teachers Association (PERGUNU) plays a pivotal role in enhancing education and moral values within society. This study addresses the necessity to strengthen PERGUNU's prophecy movement through a participatory mentoring program at the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Leadership (PC NU) level in Pasuruan City, slated for August 2024. The goal is to enhance leadership skills and community participation through a structured mentoring process. Employing a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design, the study consists of two phases. The quantitative phase involves a survey of 100 respondents to gather broad perceptions and experiences, while the qualitative phase includes in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with 20 participants for deeper insights. The subjects are active PERGUNU members engaged in PC NU activities, focusing on teachers, leaders, and mentoring program participants. Data collection involves quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, analyzed using SPSS software and thematic analysis, respectively. Reliability and validity are ensured through data triangulation and peer review. Preliminary findings suggest participatory mentoring significantly boosts teacher morale, pedagogical competence, and community engagement. The study recommends expanding the program regionally, ensuring sustainability, and integrating feedback for continuous improvement, contributing significantly to educational leadership and community empowerment in Islamic education.

Abstract

The emergence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution has revolutionized information accessibility, especially through social media platforms such as Instagram. This study investigates the role of Instagram in increasing Sharia economic law literacy and its subsequent impact on strengthening the Sharia economy in Indonesia. Using an ethnographic approach, this research explores four Instagram accounts dedicated to Contemporary Fiqh Muamalah and Maliyah, testing their effectiveness in educating users about Sharia economic principles before carrying out trading activities. Data was collected through systematic observation and documentation studies, followed by descriptive and qualitative analysis. The findings show that Instagram functions as an important tool in spreading Sharia economic law, thus making a significant contribution to the growth and stability of the Sharia economy in Indonesia. Furthermore, this research highlights the importance of digital literacy in Sharia financing to encourage peace and economic development in Indonesia.

Abstract

Technological developments have brought significant changes in learning methods. This research aims to explore the transformation of mathematics learning media through TikTok with a focus on the influence of viral content with the theme "Ubur-uber". The research methodology used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through direct observation and analysis of relevant TikTok content. From the results of observations, 50 Ubur-uber-themed videos were selected based on the criteria of popularity and user interaction. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify main patterns and themes. The focus of the research lies in the use of Ubur-Ubur content in mathematics learning media and its impact on the teaching and learning process. The findings show that TikTok is an effective platform in the world of education, where viral Ubur-Ubur content has succeeded in making mathematics learning more interesting and efficient for students and educators. Concrete examples include increased student participation in class discussions and a better understanding of the material. The results of this research show that learning media innovation through platforms such as TikTok can make a positive contribution to the world of education. However, it was discovered that the Ubur-Ubur content on TikTok has never been researched and published in a national or international journal to test its effectiveness in terms of the validity of the media used, etc. This shows that this media is only a learning innovation, especially mathematics. By leveraging the viral nature of Ubur-Ubur content, educators can create more dynamic and interactive learning experiences. This research provides insight into the potential of TikTok as an effective educational tool and opens up opportunities for further exploration of the use of social media for educational purposes, especially in mathematics subjects.

Abstract

In the eyes of society, universities are considered only to teach theory without any form of application when viewed from the perspective of social life. This can be seen from the surrounding conditions where not many university graduates can apply this theory in the field. This activity aims to bridge learning at SPS Mawar, Kebonagung Subdistrict, Pasuruan City, with a service learning approach in the English Day program to provide training for SPS Mawar Kebonagung Early Age Children (AUD) in improving their English language skills by introducing several new vocabulary through singing and fun game. This activity involved a lecturer, four PGRI Wiranegara University students, AUD SPS Mawar students, and teachers. A participatory approach is also used in this service activity to attract students' attention and make it easier for students to remember new vocabulary. Students are directly involved in the learning process. The success of providing English language teaching can increase AUD's ability or vocabulary in English by providing new inspiration in teaching children English skills with fun learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman siswa dalam mata pelajaran Biologi, khususnya pada topik fotosintesis. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah mengimplementasikan metode pembelajaran bahagia berbasis praktikum untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Metode ini memadukan unsur-unsur kebahagiaan seperti menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang menyenangkan, mendorong interaksi positif antara guru dan siswa, serta menggunakan media praktikum yang menarik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang melibatkan 6 siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan tes tertulis, yang dilakukan selama 4 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Analisis data secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif dilakukan untuk mengukur peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman siswa tentang fotosintesis, dengan rata-rata peningkatan skor sebesar 25% dari pre-test ke post-test. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi belajar yang diidentifikasi melalui peningkatan partisipasi aktif dan umpan balik positif selama kegiatan praktikum. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penerapan pembelajaran bahagia berbasis praktikum berkontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dan motivasi siswa. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar metode ini diintegrasikan secara lebih luas dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah untuk mencapai hasil yang lebih optimal. Dengan pendekatan ini, diharapkan siswa dapat lebih memahami materi pelajaran dengan baik dan memiliki motivasi yang lebih tinggi dalam belajar

Abstract

This study aims to address the lack of interactive learning media specifically designed to enhance students' critical mathematical thinking skills in the topic of function composition. Based on previous research highlighting the potential of viral media in mathematics learning, this study develops and tests an innovative learning medium called GABUT. This medium integrates game elements and interactive learning using QR codes and various levels of problem difficulty. The methodology employed is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D development model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. In the Define stage, needs analysis was conducted through interviews and questionnaires. The Design stage involved the initial prototype design of the GABUT media. During the Develop stage, the prototype was tested and evaluated through pre-tests, post-tests, and statistical t-test analysis. The Disseminate stage involved implementing the media in several schools over 12 weeks. The results indicate that GABUT media effectively enhances students' critical mathematical thinking skills, with an average test score improvement of 25% (standard deviation = 5.6, p-value < 0.05). Additionally, 85% of students reported feeling more motivated and engaged in learning mathematics after using this media. Challenges encountered included students' initial adaptation to the new media and issues with "zonk" questions. Improvements were made through initial orientation sessions and revisions to the "zonk" questions. This study makes a significant contribution to mathematics education by providing an innovative and effective learning medium that not only improves students' conceptual understanding of mathematics but also motivates them and increases their participation in the learning process.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah adanya kesenjangan fundamental an- tara tuntutan Penalaran Numerasi tingkat tinggi dalam Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM) Level 4-6 dengan realitas kemampuan siswa SMA dalam me- mahami materi abstrak Limit Fungsi Aljabar, sebuah fondasi krusial bagi kal- kulus. Kondisi ini mengancam upaya pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berke- lanjutan (SDG) 4, yakni menjamin kualitas pendidikan yang inklusif dan mera- ta. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi, mengklasifika- sikan, dan menganalisis secara mendalam kesulitan spesifik (konseptual, pro- sedural, dan penalaran) yang dihadapi siswa SMA dalam menyelesaikan soal penalaran numerasi AKM Level 4-6 materi limit. Metode yang digunakan ada- lah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan data utama diperoleh dari hasil tes diagnostik dan wawancara semi-terstruktur, dianalisis menggunakan kerangka Analisis Kesalahan Newman untuk mendiagnosis akar masalah. Hasil penelitian uta- ma menunjukkan kesulitan paling dominan adalah Kesulitan Konseptual (45%) dan Penalaran Numerasi (35%), jauh melampaui Kesulitan Prosedural (20%). Secara kognitif, pola kesalahan didominasi oleh Transformation Error (gagal memilih strategi prinsip) dan Encoding Error (gagal menginterpretasikan hasil limit dalam konteks soal), yang mencerminkan kerapuhan konsep. Kesimpul- an dari temuan ini menegaskan bahwa proses pembelajaran di kelas yang ma- sih berorientasi pada hasil dan hafalan rumus (*result-oriented*) menciptakan kesenjangan Pengetahuan Konseptual-Prosedural (Hiebert) yang fundamental, menyebabkan siswa tidak mampu bernalar adaptif. Oleh karena itu, peneliti- an ini mengonfirmasi kebutuhan mendesak akan strategi pembelajaran yang secara eksplisit fokus pada pemahaman makna Limit Fungsi Aljabar.
