This research has been done in the Sisimeni Sanam Education and Training Forest Area, in Silu Village, Fatuleu District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This research is descriptive quantitative using the exploratory method. Observations were carried out through pitfall trap and hand sorting. The data to be analyzed is related to the diversity index (H') and the Similarity Index (IS). Analysis of data using Microsoft Excel and Past3 applications. The results showed that types of soil macrofauna in Forest Areas Education and Training Sisimeni Sanam especially under the stands of forest habitat heterogeneous and homogeneous forest consists of 11 ordo with a total of 1,113 individuals were found. The diversity level of soil macrofauna under heterogeneous and homogeneous forest habitat stands at 1.71063 and 0.55568. The level of similarity between soil macrofauna under heterogeneous forest habitat stands is high with an average value of 62.406%.

Abstract

Honey from forest bees (Apis dorsata) is one of the non-timber forest products that has long been used in Loli Village, Polen Districk, South Central Timor Regency and has become an additional source of livelihood to meet the needs of farmers in Loli Village. This research aims to determined the contribution of forest honey to farmers' total income and to determine the level of welfare of farmers in Loli Village. This research was carried out during April-May 2024, using saturated sampling method (census), of a total of 19 honey farmers and data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results shows that the contribution of forest honey bee farming to the total income of farmer households in Loli Village is 76% with total honey farming income of IDR 372,360,000/year, an average of IDR 19,597,895/year. The results of the analysis proved that of the 19 respondents, only 7 respondents had incomes above the average, while the other 12 respondents had incomes below the average. This is influenced by the large number of trees owned by each respondent and the number of hives in the nesting trees, so it can be ascertained that the gains in honey production are also different. Based on the level of farmer welfare, there are still 74% of honey farmers who are not prosperous, but honey farming is able to provide a good life and is the main support for the welfare of farmers in Loli Village. However this contribution can be threatened if forest preservation is not maintained, so there needs to be a role Government and Community in efforts to protect and preserve forests in Loli Village. Abstract

Mangrove forests provide environmental benefits by maintaining the balance of coastal ecosystems, protecting shorelines from abrasion, processing toxic waste, producing oxygen, absorbing carbon dioxide, and serving as habitats and food sources for other living beings. Mangrove forests also contribute to the community's economy, one of which is through tourism, such as ecological tourism or more commonly known as ecotourism. This research was conducted in August 2024 in the Conservation Area of the Marine Nature Tourism Park (Taman Wisata Alam Laut or TWAL). The selection of respondents in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The characteristics of the respondents who served as key informants in this study included area managers, community groups, and local residents around the mangrove ecotourism area who run businesses. The data analysis methods used in this study were descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The research results show that the F-test and t-test analysis obtained an F-count smaller than the F-table (F-count = 2.530 < F-table = 3.10), indicating thet all the independent variables used do not have a significant relationship with the dependent variable. Furthermore, based on the t-test analysis, the variables of business opportunity (X1) and management (X3) had t-count values smaller than the t-table (t-count for X1 and X3 = -0.682 and 0.504 < t-table = 2.080), indicating that the independent variables X1 and X3 do not have a significant effect on the community’s economic variable (Y). Meanwhile, the t-count value for the labor absorption variable (X2) was greater than the t-table (t-count X2 = 2.303 > t-table = 2.080), indicating that the X2 variable has a significant effect on the community’s economic variable (Y).
