Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of school infrastructure modernisation in improving student learning motivation at SMK Negeri 2 Somolo-molo and to identify the factors that have prevented its optimal implementation. The research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, with the research subjects including the principal, teachers, and students. Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analysed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques, accompanied by source triangulation to ensure data validity. The results of the study show that infrastructure modernisation has been carried out through the construction of an auditorium, renovation of classrooms, construction of a teachers' office, and the provision of learning facilities such as tables, chairs, whiteboards, and smart TVs. This modernisation has had a positive impact on increasing student motivation, interest and attitude towards learning, and has helped teachers deliver learning materials more effectively. However, the implementation of school infrastructure modernisation has not been optimal due to budget constraints and the geographical constraints of schools located in disadvantaged areas, which have hampered the procurement of facilities and infrastructure and slowed down the construction process

Abstract

Learning in schools still faces challenges in creating meaningful, active, and student-centered learning experiences, thus requiring a learning approach capable of supporting the transformation of the learning process. One relevant approach is Deep Learning, which emphasizes in-depth conceptual understanding, active student involvement, and the connection of material to real-life contexts. This study aims to describe the application of the Deep Learning concept in the transformation of learning at SMA Negeri 2 Lolofitu Moi. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation with informants consisting of the principal, vice principal for curriculum, teachers, and students who were selected purposively. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the application of the Deep Learning concept is realized through learning that encourages student activeness, the use of varied learning strategies and media, and the association of material with real situations. Teachers act as facilitators who create interactive learning, while students are more actively involved in the process of discussion, exploration, and problem-solving. These findings indicate that the application of the Deep Learning concept supports the transformation of learning that is more student-centered and oriented towards competency development.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the implementation of the Community Service Program (PkM) in improving the competencies of the school community at SMA Negeri 2 Lolofitu Moi. The study employed a qualitative approach using Action Research consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and SaldaƱa, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The implementation of the program included debate training, choir training, Canva application training, the Green School program through water spinach cultivation, and social service activities. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Community Service Program improved the competencies of the school community, including communication skills, critical thinking, digital competence, collaboration, environmental awareness, discipline, responsibility, and teamwork. The collaboration between the university and the school also strengthened the implementation of sustainable educational empowerment activities. It can be concluded that the Community Service Program is an effective strategy for improving the competencies of principals, teachers, educational staff, and students through integrated and sustainable activities
