Abstract

Education influences the quality of employee work. Some employees ultimately choose to attend lectures to train the skills needed by the company. Based on the needs of these employees, the university finally provides employee classes. However, employees who attend lectures will have two demanding roles as employees and students, this will result in role conflicts between the two. The problem with studying while working is that it is not easy to divide your time between studying, working, rest, and other matters. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-regulated learning and student engagement among student employees at the Faculty of Psychology, Proclamation 45 University, Yogyakarta. The hypothesis proposed in this research is that there is a positive relationship between self-regulated learning and student engagement among student employees at the Faculty of Psychology, Proclamation 45 University, Yogyakarta. The sampling technique in this research was to use a probability sampling technique of proportionate random sampling by taking 50% of the population, with a total sample of 112 student employees. The data analysis method used is Karl Pearson's Product Moment correlation and the data collection method uses the self-regulated learning scale and student engagement scale. The results of the research show a relationship between self-regulated learning and student engagement among student employees at the Faculty of Psychology, Proclamation 45 University, Yogyakarta with values of r = 0.818 and p = 0.000, so the hypothesis is accepted. The effective contribution of self-regulated learning to student engagement is 66.91%, the results of additional analysis show that the motivation dimension is 27.43%, the method dimension is 10.65%, the performance results dimension is 15.68% and the social environment dimension is 13.98%.

Abstract

Students who work have subjective well-being that is unstable or even tends to decrease due to the negative impact felt by students which will influence the subjective well-being of working students. The factors that can affect subjective well-being in students are academic resilience and optimism which will be examined in this study. The aim of this research is to prove empirically about the influence optimism and academic resilience on subjective well-being. 100 working students in UMBY was taken as participant using convenience sampling technique.  Data collection was carried out by using Subjective Well-Being Scale, Optimism Scale, and Academic Resilience Scale. The data generated through the data collection process was analyzed using multiple linear regression tests. The research results show that optimism and academic resilience have a positive effect on subjective well-being, both simultaneously and partially. The effective contribution of optimism and academic resilience is 32,5%, while 67,5% is influenced by other variables not examined in this research.

Abstract

Bullying in schools is an issue that can affect the social and emotional development of students, both for victims and witnesses. Witnesses of bullying often feel trapped in such situations, and increasing their assertiveness can help reduce the negative impacts of this phenomenon. Emotional intelligence training is effective in improving the assertiveness of bullying witnesses. This study aims to examine the impact of emotional intelligence training on the assertiveness of bullying witnesses in junior high school students. The method used in this study is an experimental design with a one-group pre-test post-test design. The study involved 62 students selected through purposive sampling, including students who had previously witnessed bullying, from grade VII with low and moderate assertiveness levels based on a preliminary study. The study had two groups: the experimental group, which received emotional intelligence training, and the control group, which received no intervention. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that emotional intelligence training significantly improved the assertiveness of bullying witnesses, with a p-value of 0.003 (p < 0.05). The implications of this study highlight the importance of implementing emotional intelligence training in schools as an effort to enhance assertiveness among students, particularly bullying witnesses, to create a more supportive and safe school environment for all students.Bullying di lingkungan sekolah merupakan masalah yang dapat memengaruhi perkembangan sosial dan emosional siswa, baik bagi korban maupun saksi. Saksi bullying sering kali merasa terjebak dalam situasi tersebut, dan peningkatan asertivitas mereka dapat membantu mengurangi dampak negatif dari fenomena ini. Pelatihan emotional intelligence (kecerdasan emosional) dianggap dapat meningkatkan asertivitas saksi bullying. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan emotional intelligence dalam meningkatkan asertivitas saksi bullying pada siswa SMP. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan desain one group pre-test post-test. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 62 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling, yaitu siswa yang pernah menjadi saksi bullying, dari kelas VII dengan tingkat asertivitas rendah dan sedang berdasarkan studi pendahuluan. Terdapat dua kelompok dalam penelitian ini, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang diberi intervensi pelatihan emotional intelligence dan kelompok kontrol yang tidak diberi perlakuan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan emotional intelligence memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan asertivitas saksi bullying, dengan nilai p = 0,003 (p < 0,05). Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah pentingnya penerapan pelatihan emotional intelligence di sekolah sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan asertivitas siswa, khususnya saksi bullying, sehingga dapat menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang lebih mendukung dan aman bagi semua siswa.

Abstract

The open unemployment rate (TPT) of vocational school graduates in February 2025 will reach 8%, the highest compared to other levels of education. In Yogyakarta, the unemployment rate of vocational school graduates in Sleman Regency was recorded at 5.02%. This high unemployment rate reflects a serious challenge in optimizing the role of vocational education as a bridge to the world of work. This study aims to determine the relationship between career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) and work readiness in grade XII students of SMK X. This study uses a quantitative method with a correlational design. The research sample amounted to 152 students who were selected through a population study. Data collection was carried out using the CDMSE scale and the work readiness scale. Data analysis using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test showed a positive and significant relationship between CDMSE and work readiness in grade XII students of SMK X (r = 0.469, p < 0.05). The results of this study show that the higher the CDMSE, the higher the student's job readiness. These findings indicate the importance of strengthening self-efficacy in career decision-making to improve the work readiness of vocational school students.Tingkat pengangguran terbuka (TPT) lulusan SMK pada Februari 2025 mencapai 8%, tertinggi dibandingkan jenjang pendidikan lain. Di Yogyakarta, tingkat pengangguran lulusan SMK di Kabupaten Sleman tercatat sebesar 5,02%. Tingginya angka pengangguran ini mencerminkan tantangan serius dalam mengoptimalkan peran pendidikan vokasi sebagai jembatan menuju dunia kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) dengan work readiness pada siswa kelas XII SMK X. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 152 siswa yang dipilih melalui studi populasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan skala CDMSE dan skala work readiness. Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara CDMSE dengan work readiness pada siswa kelas XII SMK X (r = 0,469, p < 0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi CDMSE, maka semakin tinggi pula kesiapan kerja siswa. Temuan ini mengindikasikan pentingnya penguatan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karir untuk meningkatkan kesiapan kerja siswa SMK.

Abstract

The automotive industry is a dynamic and complex manufacturing sector that requires employees not only to excel in technical skills but also to maintain psychological well-being in order to support optimal performance. Employee well-being is a crucial aspect that encompasses physical health, mental health, and job satisfaction. However, in practice, employee well-being is often influenced by psychosocial factors such as organizational support and work engagement. This study aims to analyze the influence of perceived organizational support and work engagement on employee well-being in the context of the automotive industry. The research involved 57 employees of PT. X selected through random sampling. The instruments used included the Employee Well-Being Scale (EWBS), the Perceived Organizational Support Scale (SPOS), and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results revealed that perceived organizational support and work engagement significantly influenced employee well-being (R² = 0.567; p < 0.05). Partially, perceived organizational support (β = 1.017; p = 0.015) and work engagement (β = 0.640; p = 0.000) contributed positively and significantly to employee well-being. These findings highlight the importance of organizational support and work engagement in enhancing employee well-being. The implications suggest that organizations need to strengthen internal support and design effective engagement strategies to promote a healthier and more productive workforce.Industri otomotif merupakan sektor manufaktur yang dinamis dan kompleks, yang menuntut karyawan tidak hanya unggul dalam keterampilan teknis, tetapi juga memiliki kesejahteraan psikologis yang baik guna mendukung kinerja optimal. Employee well-being menjadi aspek penting yang mencakup kesehatan fisik, mental, serta kepuasan kerja. Namun, dalam praktiknya kesejahteraan karyawan kerap dipengaruhi oleh faktor psikososial, seperti dukungan organisasi dan keterikatan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perceived organizational support dan work engagement terhadap kesejahteraan karyawan dalam konteks industri otomotif. Penelitian dilakukan pada 57 karyawan PT. X dengan metode random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi Employee Well-Being Scale (EWBS), Perceived Organizational Support Scale (SPOS), dan Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES). Analisis data menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perceived organizational support dan work engagement berpengaruh signifikan terhadap employee well-being (R² = 0,567; p < 0,05). Secara parsial, perceived organizational support (β = 1,017; p = 0,015) dan work engagement (β = 0,640; p = 0,000) memberikan kontribusi positif dan signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan karyawan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya dukungan organisasi dan keterikatan kerja dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan karyawan. Implikasi penelitian menunjukkan perlunya organisasi untuk memperkuat dukungan internal serta merancang strategi keterlibatan kerja yang efektif guna mewujudkan tenaga kerja yang lebih sehat dan produktif.

Abstract

Final year students feel anxious in facing the world of work, because they feel that finding a job is increasingly difficult and their personal qualities are inadequate. Therefore, efforts are needed to prevent or reduce this anxiety, one of which is through self-regulation. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-regulation and anxiety in facing the world of work in final year students at the University of Proclamation 45 Yogyakarta. This study used a quantitative research method. The subjects in this study were 90 final year students with a sampling technique of simple random sampling. The measuring instruments used in this study were the Self-Regulation Scale (25 items α = 0.881) and the Anxiety Scale in Facing the World of Work (22 items α = 0.88) which have been tried out on 75 final year students. Using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test, a correlation coefficient of -0.493 was found with a significance of 0.000 (p <0.01). These results indicate that there is a significant negative relationship between self-regulation and anxiety in facing the world of work.

Abstract

Employee commitment to the organization is an important aspect that must be possessed in supporting the sustainability and achievement of company goals. The purpose of this study is to empirically prove the relationship between work engagement and organizational commitment among Super Dazzle employees in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. A total of 115 of the total 198 Super Dazzle DIY employees were selected as samples using the Proportional Simple Random Sampling technique. The measuring instrument used in this study consisted of two scales, namely the Organizational Commitment scale and the Work Engagement scale. The results of the study found a correlation coefficient value of 0.657 (p <0.000). This value indicates a significant positive relationship between work engagement and organizational commitment among Super Dazzle employees in DIY.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically test the differences in burnout in terms of tenure in the Dalmas Unit of Sat Samapta Polresta Yogyakarta City. A total of 74 people were taken as samples with random sample techniques. data collection methods with the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). The results of the difference test using Mann Whitney resulted in a Mann Whitney U value of 946.5 with a significance of 0004. i.e. there is a significant difference in burnout in police officers serving in the Dalmas Unit of Sat Samapta Polresta Yogyakarta City with a service period of < 3 years and ≥ 3 years. Descriptive statistical tests on burnout with a tenure of < 3 years show an average of 62.63. Meanwhile, the work period ≥ 3 years shows an average of 68.47. This shows that burnout in police officers serving in the Dalmas Unit of Sat Samapta Polresta Yogyakarta City with a work period of ≥ 3 years experiences higher burnout than those with a work period of < 3 years.

Abstract

Waste management is a shared responsibility, including for teachers in Special Schools (SLB). Teachers play an important role in fostering students’ environmental awareness, one of which is through recycling waste into creative and educational learning media. However, many teachers are still unable to carry out this effort optimally in their daily teaching and learning activities at school. One factor that may influence this ability is self-efficacy, defined as a person’s belief in their own capacity to perform specific actions. This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between self-efficacy and innovative behavior among SLB teachers in processing waste into learning materials. A total of 68 out of 99 teachers from six SLB schools in District X participated as research samples. Data were collected using two psychological scales, namely the Self-Efficacy Scale and the Innovative Behavior Scale, and analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The results show a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and innovative behavior (r = 0.353; p < 0.01). This indicates that the higher the teacher’s self-efficacy, the greater their tendency to behave innovatively in developing school learning activities. Self-efficacy contributed 12.46% to innovative behavior, while the remaining 87.54% was influenced by other factors. Additional tests revealed no gender differences, but significant differences based on years of service.

Abstract

Students generally undergo lecture activities to prepare themselves to enter the world of work. However, in reality there are still many college graduates who are not yet working. Personality hardiness is often associated with an individual's ability to deal with pressure, in this case faced by students, especially final year students, when entering the world of work. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between hardiness and work readiness in final year students at University X in Yogyakarta. The proposed hypothesis is that there is a positive relationship between hardiness and work readiness. This research involved 78 final year students. Data was collected using two scales: work readiness scale and hardiness scale. The Pearson Product Moment correlation test was used to carry out the analysis of this research. The results show that the correlation coefficient of hardiness with work readiness for final year students at University X in Yogyakarta is 0.622, with sig. p = 0.000, and effective contribution of 38.69%. Additional analysis results: The challenge aspect was 5.52%, the control aspect was 19.66%, and the commitment aspect was 13.50%.Mahasiswa pada umumnya menjalani kegiatan perkuliahan untuk mempersiapkan dirinya dalam memasuki dunia kerja. Walau demikian, pada kenyataannya masih banyak dari lulusan perguruan tinggi yang belum bekerja. Kepribadian hardiness seringkali di kaitkan dengan kemampuan individu dalam menghadapi tekanan, dalam hal ini yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa khususnya mahasiswa tingkat akhir dalam memasuki dunia kerja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara hardiness dan kesiapan kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Universitas X di Yogyakarta. Hipotesis yang diusulkan bahwa ada hubungan positif antara hardiness dan kesiapan kerja. Penelitian ini melibatkan 78 mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan dua skala: skala kesiapan kerja dan skala hardiness. Uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment digunakan untuk melakukan analisis penelitian ini. Hasilnya menunjukkan koefisien korelasi dari hardiness dengan kesiapan kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Universitas X di Yogyakarta sebesar 0,622, dengan sig. p = 0,000, dan sumbangan efektif sebesar 38,69%. Hasil analisis tambahan Aspek tantangan adalah 5,52%, aspek kontrol adalah 19,66%, dan aspek komitmen adalah 13,50%.
