Abstract

Language plays an important role as a communication tool for conveying thoughts and feelings. In Indonesia, Bahasa Indonesia serves as the unifying language that brings the nation together. Language users need to master linguistic skills, including the use of standard words and punctuation, to communicate effectively. Linguistic errors, such as improper use of standard words and punctuation mistakes, often occur in academic writing. This study aims to analyze linguistic errors in the scientific paper "Proposal Bahasa Indonesia" by Sundari, a student at Universitas Negeri Medan. Using a qualitative approach and a descriptive-narrative method, this research identifies and analyzes these errors. The results show errors in the use of standard words, punctuation, and writing in the paper. These errors include the use of non-standard words, punctuation mistakes, and incorrect spelling and sentence structure.

Abstract

Bahasa merupakan alat komunikasi yang tidak netral karena mencerminkan dan membentuk struktur sosial, ideologi, serta relasi kekuasaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis teks berita daring berjudul “Pro Kontra Pengiriman Anak Nakal ke Barak Militer Gagasan Dedi Mulyadi: Solusi atau Pelanggaran HAM?” dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis model Teun A. van Dijk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data berupa kalimat-kalimat dalam teks berita yang dianalisis berdasarkan tiga struktur utama: makro, superstruktur, dan mikro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara makro, tema utama berita ini menggambarkan perdebatan antara pendekatan militeristik dalam menangani kenakalan remaja dan pendekatan yang berorientasi pada hak asasi anak. Superstruktur berita disusun secara sistematis melalui pembukaan yang provokatif, isi yang menampilkan beragam opini, dan penutup yang reflektif. Secara mikro, ditemukan penggunaan istilah bermuatan semantik yang kuat, struktur sintaksis yang kompleks, gaya bahasa yang netral namun sugestif, serta strategi retoris yang melibatkan berbagai narasumber untuk memperkuat opini. Temuan ini mengungkap bahwa teks berita tidak hanya menyampaikan informasi, tetapi juga membingkai isu dan membentuk persepsi publik melalui strategi wacana tertentu. Dengan demikian, pendekatan Van Dijk mampu mengungkap lapisan ideologis dan kekuasaan yang tersembunyi dalam praktik media massa.

Abstract

Children with hearing impairments face challenges in communication that can affect their social and educational development. Advances in technology have provided various innovative solutions to improve accessibility and independence of children with hearing impairments in communicating. This article discusses the role of technology in helping children with hearing impairments communicate, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, sign language interpreter applications, speech recognition technology, and digital-based learning media. With this technology, children with hearing impairments can interact more easily with their social environment, improve their communication skills, and obtain better educational opportunities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the learning motivation of deaf children in the context of inclusive schools through a literature study approach. Deaf children have special characteristics that affect the way they receive and process information, so they need adaptive learning strategies to increase their learning motivation. Learning motivation is one of the key factors that affect student engagement, achievement and social-emotional development. This study provides important implications for educators and policy makers in developing more inclusive and responsive learning practices.
