Abstract

SMAN 2 Kahayan Tengah is one of the schools located in Bukit Rawi, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. In the school there are 150 students, most of whom have used motorised vehicles to get to school and pass through the highway. The purpose of this service is to provide knowledge and is expected to increase the awareness of citizens of SMAN 2 Kahayan Tengah towards traffic rules, signs and markings that apply on the highway. The method of activity implementation is in the form of socialization / lecture. The results of this community service can be seen from the results of questions and answers, interviews and fun quiz, there is a fairly good increase in terms of knowledge and understanding of students regarding traffic rules, signs and markings.

Abstract

Roads are an important factor in economic growth and regional development. However, high traffic volumes can lead to deterioration in road quality, such as damage to the surface. In Kapuas Regency, particularly on the Jepang roads, damage is often caused by vehicles, especially trucks, which exceed the load limits. Proper road maintenance is needed to repair and prevent further damage, with a focus on assessing the nature of the damage. A planned maintenance programme will support smooth transport and the regional economy. The research was carried out in Kapuas Regency, specifically on Jepang roads, using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, which is used to determine the pavement condition index on a scale of 0 to 100, which is used to assess road conditions based on the level of damage. The research results show that Jepang roads have an average PCI of 79.2, which is in the very good category. Based on the PCI method, this road requires routine maintenance to prevent more serious damage in the future.

Abstract

At the intersection of Jalan Antang - Jalan Rajawali, Palangka Raya City, it is an unsignalized intersection with four arms. At the location of Jalan Antang - Jalan Rajawali, Palangka Raya city, it is an area or area that is quite frequently passed by office workers, especially students and various groups of society. In this intersection area there are quite a lot of shops and it is also close to the Palangka Raya 3 Public Middle School, this condition is one of the factors that might cause delays and queues when passing through this intersection. The aim of this research is to analyze the performance of unsignalized intersections, as well as providing solutions or handling suggestions to improve the performance of the unsignalized intersections on Jalan Antang - Jalan Rajawali. Data collection was carried out over 4 days, namely Tuesday 4 June 2024, Wednesday 5 June 2024, Thursday 6 June 2024, and Monday 10 June 2024. The data collected was intersection geometry data and traffic volume data. The data analysis method uses the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines. The research results show that the highest peak hour traffic volume at the Jalan Antang - Jalan Rajawali intersection occurred on Tuesday, June 4 2024, in the morning period at 06.30-07.30 WIT with a traffic volume of 2874.6 pcu/hour. Where the capacity value (C) of the intersection is 3332 pcu/hour, the degree of saturation (DJ) is 0.862, the intersection delay is 14.748 seconds/pcu, and the queuing opportunity (Pa) is 29.845 – 58.956%. The intersection delay (T) of 14,748 is in the range of 5.1 – 15 so it is included in the service level category B. Based on the calculation results of solutions or handling proposals, namely the widening of major and minor roads has a degree of saturation with a value of 0.837, this has met the limit value set by The 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines are the DJ value not exceeding 0.85 and the intersection service level index is category B.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with ethnoscience on students’ energy literacy and learning outcomes compared to conventional PBL. A quasi-experimental design was employed using a non-equivalent control group with pre-test and post-test. The population consisted of all 67 Grade X students at SMA Negeri Satu Atap Lembongan, who were divided into experimental and control classes based on their existing class groupings. The experimental group received instruction using the ethnoscience-integrated PBL model, while the control group was taught using standard PBL. Data were collected using validated instruments assessing energy literacy (knowledge, attitudes, and behavior) and cognitive learning outcomes. Results of analyzed using MANCOVA showed that the experimental group experienced significantly higher gains in both energy literacy (p < 0.05) and learning outcomes (p < 0.05) compared to the control group. The findings suggest that integrating ethnoscience into PBL provides contextual relevance and enhances the effectiveness of science instruction. This model can serve as a culturally responsive approach to improve students' scientific understanding and engagement.
