Abstract

[English]: There are two categories of thinking skills that influence each other in mathematical knowledge, namely a thinking process called ways of thinking (WoT) and ways of understanding (WoU). This study aims to describe students' WoT and WoU in solving mathematics problems in terms of adversity quotient (AQ). This research is descriptive and qualitative. The participants of this study were students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Taman Sidoarjo. The subjects were selected based on the results of the adversity response profile test using a purposive sampling technique, so there were 3 climbers, 3 campers, and 2 quitter. The written test and interview data were analyzed according to the WoT and WoU indicators. The results of this study indicate that the WoT climber students tend to have one strategy in solving mathematical problems that leads to the correct solution, an empirical WoT, and a very good belief in mathematical concepts. Meanwhile, the WoT campers and quitters tend to have one strategy that leads to wrong solutions, and beyond belief WoT. The camper students have good confidence, while quitter students have less confidence in mathematical concepts. The WoU climber students are in the very good category, camper students are enough, and quitter students are in the less category. The WoT and WoU of climber students are better than those of camper and quitter students. [Bahasa]: Terdapat dua kategori keterampilan berpikir yang saling mempengaruhi dalam pengetahuan matematika yaitu proses berpikir yang disebut ways of thinking (WoT), dan cara pemahaman siswa yang disebut dengan ways of understanding (WoU). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan WoT dan WoU siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika ditinjau dari adversity quotient (AQ). Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa di MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Taman Sidoarjo. Subjek dipilih berdasarkan hasil tes adversity respons profile menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sehingga didapatkan 3 siswa climbers, 3 campers dan 2 quitters. Data tes tulis dan wawancara dianalisis sesuai indikator WoT dan WoU. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa WoT siswa climber dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika cenderung memiliki satu strategi yang mengarah pada solusi benar, cara berpikir empiris, dan memiliki keyakinan yang sangat baik terhadap konsep matematika. Sedangkan WoT siswa camper dan quitter cenderung memiliki satu strategi yang mengarah pada solusi salah, dan cara berpikir luar keyakinan. Siswa camper memiliki keyakinan yang baik, sedangkan siswa quitter memiliki keyakinan yang kurang terhadap konsep matematika. WoU siswa climber berkategori sangat baik, siswa camper berkategori cukup. dan siswa quitter berkategori kurang. WoT dan WoU siswa climber lebih baik dibandingkan siswa camper dan quitter.

Abstract

Istighātha dhikr is a spiritual practice performed by seeking help, protection, and forgiveness from Allah. It is a process of seeking Allah's assistance and protection against all weaknesses, sins, and mistakes committed. However, this practice has been carried out in various ways in different countries. This research aims to evaluate how the practice of istighātha dhikr in various countries can be implemented to improve well-being. Out of 151 identified articles, 14 relevant articles were found based on inclusion and exclusion criteria such as document type, source, and period. PRISMA was used as a guideline for selecting articles in this research. Google Scholar, EBSCO, and Publish or Perish were used as literature search databases. VOSviewer was used to analyze publication data and collaboration networks. This article provides an overview of the practice of istighātha dhikr in various countries. The results of this study indicate that istighātha dhikr is not only a practice for spiritual development but also has significant impacts in strengthening religious identity, improving the quality of worship, increasing spiritual awareness, enhancing spiritual, physical, and mental aspects, and improving overall well-being.

Abstract

The education system in China is heavily influenced by Confucianism, which has led to an exam-oriented education system and a teacher-centered approach to learning. This environment is less conducive to the implementation of formative assessment, which emphasizes evaluating the learning process. However, this does not mean that process-based assessments are not applied in China. On the contrary, formative assessments are still used despite challenges from a system that prioritizes exam results. This article discusses the implementation, effectiveness, challenges of formative assessment in China, and contributions for Islamic Religious Education. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the help of Prisma 2020. The results show that formative assessment in China is implemented through various methods such as student journals, portfolios, teacher-student interactions, formative tasks, self-assessment, peer assessment, classroom observation, and feedback. Formative assessment has proven effective in improving students' academic performance. However, its implementation faces challenges at the macro level (national education policy), meso level (school management), and micro level (classroom practices). Several formative assessment practices in China that can be adapted for assessment in Islamic education include feedback, portfolios, formative tasks, self-assessment, and peer assessment.

Abstract

The numeracy level of students in Indonesia is a critical aspect in assessing educational competence, especially in madrasas with a distinctive religion- and science-based curriculum. This research was motivated by concerns regarding disparities in numeracy abilities that may be influenced by various demographic factors such as age, gender, and regional differences. This study aims to analyze students' numeracy skills based on age (10, 11, and 12 years), age relative to gender (male and female), and age relative to region (3T, district, and city). This data collection method uses descriptive correlational research to test the relationship between gender, geographical distribution in Indonesia, and the optimal age of students in numeracy. The data analysis method uses descriptive statistical analysis methods. The subjects in this study consisted of 297,257 Indonesian fifth-grade students participating in the Indonesian Madrasah Competency Assessment (IMCA. The results of linear regression analysis show that gender and regional status influence students' numeracy skills. The results of this research can be used as a basis for teachers to provide appropriate guidance to students in the learning process according to their age level. The implications of this research can help policymakers and schools design more targeted interventions to improve students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

The approach of disaster mitigation in Islamic religious education urgently needed to be adopted due to the high frequency of disaster occurrences and their impact on madrasahs, particularly in disaster-prone areas. The lack of literature and practical guidelines on disaster mitigation education is one of the main obstacles that reduces madrasah's involvement in disaster risk reduction efforts. This study aims to identify the concept of Islamic education transformation in disaster awareness and the form of innovation in Islamic religious education textbooks based on the perspective of Maslahah Mursalah. Utilizing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, the research findings highlight: (1) The concept of Islamic education transformation in disaster awareness from the perspective of Maslahah Mursalah focuses on three levels of maslahah: (a) al-Maslahah al-Dharuriyat, where education emphasizes a deep understanding of Islamic teachings related to self-protection and social responsibility in disaster situations, (b) al-Maslahah al-Hajiyat, ensuring the availability of facilities and environments that support effective learning related to disasters, (c) al-Maslahah al-Tahsiniyat, education emphasizes the formation of student character with values such as mutual assistance, cooperation, and empathy in facing disasters. (2) The innovation of Islamic religious education textbooks based on disaster with the perspective of Maslahah Mursalah includes the incorporation of Islamic laws related to disasters into the curriculum with an emphasis on relevance and flexibility, emphasizing the relevance and flexibility of the curriculum, using case studies from Islamic history, and providing practical resources such as evacuation guides in preparing students to face disasters. This research contributes to understanding and implementing disaster risk reduction policies in Islamic religious education, the development of interdisciplinary-based disaster textbooks, and the study of Islamic education materials with the perspective of disaster mitigation based on Maslahah Mursalah.

Abstract

Pedagogial Content Knowledge (PCK) merupakan gabungan dari dua kompetensi, pertama cognitive knowledge (CK), kedua pedagogical knowledge (PK). Kedua kompetensi ini membentuk PCK, yaitu kemampuan guru dalam memahami siswa, memahami isi materi yang diajarkan, serta mampu melaksanakan penilaian dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan mengumpulkan data dilakukan dengan berbagai langkah yang dimulai dengan  melalui survei terhadap 74 guru PAI yang tersebar di Jawa Timur dengan mengambil objek penelitian dengan random sampling, kemudian analisis data menggunakan SPSS 16.0. Hasil penelitian dapat ditemukan bahwa guru PAI di Jawa Timur belum menguasai kandungan PAI secara mendalam, dengan data menunjukkan skor rata-rata 42.873 dan standar deviasi 0,59. Kemampuan belajar pendidikan memperoleh skor rata-rata 43,622 dengan standar deviasi 0,602. Disimpulkan bahwa dalam pengembangan PCK bagi guru PAI harus terus ditingkatkan agar pembelajaran PAI di sekolah menjadi lebih baik, berkualitas dan bermakna, sehingga kompetensi profesional guru PAI yang selama ini berwawasan negatif akan terbantahkan.

Abstract

The enrollment test for prospective students at Islamic State Universities (Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri, or PTKIN) in Indonesia carries significant implications-not only for the students themselves but also within the broader social context. Consequently, there is a pressing need for a valid selection instrument capable of objectively predicting the academic potential of prospective students. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of academic reasoning and literacy-based tests as predictors of academic potential among PTKIN applicants. This research adopts a cross-sectional design to analyze the relationship between UMPTKIN scores and students’ Grade Point Averages (GPAs) during their first two semesters. The dataset comprises 2023 UMPTKIN scores and GPAs of 2,161 students from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and UIN Alauddin Makassar. Data were obtained from the National UMPTKIN Committee and the Information Technology Centers and Databases of the respective PTKINs. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 24, employing descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results reveal a weak correlation between academic reasoning and literacy scores and students' academic performance, though the degree of influence varies across academic programs. These findings underscore the need to develop more targeted selection approaches aligned with the specific characteristics of each academic program in order to enhance academic outcomes at PTKINs. Accordingly, policymakers involved in student selection processes should prioritize the development and implementation of more valid and program-sensitive selection instruments. Abstrak: Seleksi calon mahasiswa di Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri (PTKIN) di Indonesia memiliki dampak yang signifikan, baik pada individu mahasiswa maupun dalam konteks sosial yang lebih luas. Untuk itu, diperlukan instrumen seleksi yang valid dan dapat memprediksi potensi akademik calon mahasiswa secara objektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas tes penalaran akademik dan tes literasi sebagai prediktor potensi akademik calon mahasiswa PTKIN. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross-sectional, yang memungkinkan analisis hubungan antara skor UMPTKIN dan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) mahasiswa pada dua semester pertama. Data penelitian mencakup skor UMPTKIN 2023 dan IPK dari 2.161 mahasiswa yang diterima melalui UMPTKIN 2023 di UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta dan UIN Alauddin Makassar. Data dikumpulkan dari Panitia Nasional UMPTKIN dan Pusat Teknologi Informasi serta Pangkalan Data masing-masing PTKIN. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SPSS 24, dengan tahapan: analisis deskriptif, korelasi Pearson, dan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara statistik hubungan antara penalaran akademik dan literasi dengan pencapaian akademik mahasiswa tergolong lemah, meskipun kontribusi masing-masing faktor bervariasi antar program studi. Temuan penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya pengembangan pendekatan seleksi yang lebih spesifik dan disesuaikan dengan karakteristik masing-masing program studi untuk meningkatkan pencapaian akademik mahasiswa di PTKIN. Karenanya, bagi pengambil kebijakan seleksi mahasiswa di PTKIN, perlunya menekankan instrumen seleksi yang lebih valid dan terfokus pada karakteristik program studi.

Abstract

School violence, including bullying and sexual violence, poses a significant challenge to the well-being and development of students, particularly in Indonesia. Despite the success of anti-bullying programs like KiVa from Finland in reducing such violence, adapting these programs to the Indonesian context, which is deeply influenced by local cultural and religious values, is crucial for their effectiveness. This study proposes integrating key Islamic values 'adl (justice) and ihsan (empathy) into the KiVa program to create a more inclusive and safe educational environment for Indonesian students. The aim is to address not only the behavior of students but also the underlying societal issues, such as patriarchal norms and social hierarchies, that often fuel sexual violence in schools. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), this research analyzes relevant studies published between 2018 and 2024, focusing on the application of Islamic principles in educational contexts. The findings suggest that integrating 'adl and ihsan enhances KiVa’s effectiveness by fostering fairness, justice, and empathy, which are essential for preventing bullying and sexual violence. The integration of these values ensures a more holistic approach, addressing both the emotional and social aspects of the problem. This research contributes to the body of knowledge by offering a culturally relevant framework that can be adapted to Indonesian schools. Additionally, the study provides policy recommendations to promote teacher training, community engagement, and the inclusion of these values in the school curriculum. Further research is needed to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of this approach in creating safer and more just school environments.
