Abstract

Background and Study Aim. Agility holds a pivotal role in basketball, influencing both defensive prowess and offensive maneuvers. This research delves into the impact of V-pattern ladder drill and snake jump exercises on basketball players' agility.Materials and Methods. Employing a quantitative methodology, this study adopts a Pre-Experimental design, specifically the Two Group Pretest-Post-test Design, executed across three stages. Utilizing purposive sampling, 15 male basketball athletes from Mariano Marcos State University were recruited as subjects. Data analysis, including normality and homogeneity tests, affirmed the data's appropriateness. Statistical analysis was facilitated using the SPSS 26 application.Results. The findings unveiled a notable enhancement in biomotor agility ability (p=0.005) following ladder drill training. These outcomes imply that incorporating ladder training with V-pattern and snake jumping can positively impact basketball players' agility, potentially enhancing their court performance.Conclusions. In conclusion, the statistical results underscore the effectiveness of ladder drill training with V-pattern and snake jumping in enhancing agility ability, thus advocating for its application in basketball training regimens.

Abstract

Background and Study Aim. Physical fitness serves as a significant indicator of an individual's health and overall well-being. This research aims to analyze students' physical fitness by conducting a comparative study based on social status. Physical fitness was measured as an indicator of students' health and well-being.Material and Methods. Quantitative descriptive research using survey method. This study involved low-grade students from two elementary schools, namely Mujahidin Elementary School and State Elementary School 16 Rasau Jaya, which have different social status. The sampling method used purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 40 students from each school. Physical fitness data collection was conducted using the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test. Analysis was assisted using the SPSS 26 application.Results. The results showed a significance value of 0.538 > 0.05 that there was no significant difference in physical fitness between students from both schools based on social status. Although there were variations in the mean physical fitness scores, the differences did not reach the level of statistical significance.Conclusions. This study contributes to the understanding of physical fitness differences based on social status among low-grade students. The implications of the results of this study can be used for the development of more focused intervention programs to improve physical fitness, especially among students with economic and educational challenges.

Abstract

Background and Study Aim. Game performance is the quality and quantity of a person in carrying out the game that has been given in accordance with the responsibilities and results specified. But so far, it is still rare to find research that discusses games performance. This study aims to determine whether the stimulation of elementary school students' game performance ability through net gamesMaterial and Methods. This research is a pre-experiment with a one-group pretest and posttest design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling so that 12 elementary school students could be obtained. In this study, students were given treatment in the form of net games. As for pretest and posttest data using instruments in the form of tests with rubrics, Data analysis uses Microsoft Excel 2019 and SPSS version 26 applications.Results. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, so the net game treatment had a significant effect on game performance. Furthermore, 16.7% were in effective performance, 58,3% were in moderately effective performance, and 25% were in weak performance. These results provide evidence that children are dominant and moderately effective.Conclusions.Based on these results, this study proves that net games can be used to stimulate game performance.

Abstract

Purpose: This study was motivated by the importance of the role of psychological aspects, especially mental toughness, in supporting athletes' abilities when facing anxiety in a match. Materials and Methods: This study used a meta-analysis method. The search used the Publish and Publish application, with Google Scholar as the database. Literature searches from various sources used the keywords: "Mental Toughness", "Athlete Anxiety", "Competitive Anxiety", "Performance Anxiety", and "Sports Psychology". Five hundred eighteen articles were obtained, which were then filtered based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and 23 articles were analyzed. Result: The results of the analysis show a negative relationship in the moderate category between mental toughness and competitive anxiety, with rRE = -0.320 (z = -3.030; p < 0.002; 95% CI: -0.113 to -0.528). Egger's test showed no publication bias (p = 0.748 > 0.05). Conclusion: These findings suggest that increased mental toughness is negatively associated with athletes' levels of competitive anxiety. In other words, the higher an athlete's level of mental toughness, the lower their anåxiety levels during competition. This research suggests that coaches and sports psychologists are crucial to integrating psychological practices, such as goal setting, positive self-talk, and imagery, into athletes' training programs. This approach can help improve mental toughness and reduce athletes' anxiety during competition.
