Abstract

East Citorek Village in Lebak Regency is a village that has a beautiful, cool and lush environment, and there are a lot of springs. These environmental conditions support the growth of various types of ferns. The people of East Citorek Village are not aware of varied types of ferns in their area. With the development plan of East Citorek Village as one of tourist destinations that is in the process of building facilities and accessibility, it is feared that it bears the potential to reduce and annihilate fern vegetation. The purpose of this study was to identify the types of fern (Pteridophyta) and determine the abiotic factors of ferns (Pteridophyta) at East Citorek Village, Lebak Regency. This research uses incorporates a qualitative approach using the cruise method, particularly by observing directly and exploring each place that is considered representative of the fern vegetation that becomes the concern of the study.  Each type of fern plant was sampled to be identified and collected as a dry herbarium. The results of the study found that there were 19 species, 12 families, and 7 orders of fern in the area. The most common type of fern plant found comes from the Polypodiaceae family, while the type of fern that dominates the study site is the species of Dicranopteris linearis. The results of measuring environmental abiotic factors at East Citorek Village in Lebak Regency show that the results are still feasible for the survival of ferns within the average temperature measurement of 28◦C, air humidity of 76.3%, and soil pH of6.Keywords: Identification, Fern, Pteridophyta, Herbarium

Abstract

Birds play a crucial ecological role in maintaining forest ecosystem balance. However, environmental changes and anthropogenic pressures can affect bird population density and diversity in a given area. This study aims to identify the population density and diversity of birds in Banten Grand Forest Park. Data collection was conducted on June 22–23, 2024, using the Point Count method at five observation points within the Tahura Banten area. Observations were carried out in the morning (06:00–10:00 WIB) and in the afternoon (15:00–18:00 WIB). Population density was analyzed using the formula D = N/A, while bird diversity was assessed using the Shannon-Wiener Index. The results recorded 95 individual birds, classified into 25 species and 16 families. The Black-capped Babbler (Pellorneum capistratum) and the Common Iora (Aegithina tiphia) were the species with the highest density, reaching 2.55 individuals per hectare. The Shannon-Wiener Index calculation yielded a value of H’ = 3.03, indicating a high level of species diversity in the study area. These findings suggest that Tahura Banten remains an important habitat for various bird species. This study highlights the importance of forest ecosystem conservation in Banten Grand Forest Park to ensure the sustainability of bird populations and biodiversity in the region. Abstract

Taman Hutan Raya (Tahura) Banten memiliki potensi yang tinggi dalam hal ekonomi maupun ekologi. Kekhasan ekosistem ini membuat tingginya keanekaragaman flora dan fauna pada kawasan tersebut. Salah satu fauna mamalia yang biasa ditemui di kawasan ini adalah Monyet Ekor Panjang (Macaca fascicularis). Fungsi ekologi keberadaan Macaca fascicularis diantaranya sebagai agen penyemai dan penyebar biji tanaman serta menjadi pengendali populasi serangga. Namun jika populasi tidak terkendali maka akan berdampak pada keseimbangan ekosistem khususnya mempengaruhi perilaku Macaca fascicularis menjadi agresif dan kecenderungan dianggap hama. Oleh karenanya penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kepadatan populasi Macaca fascicularis dikawasan Tahura Banten. Analisis data populasi menggunakan persamaan King’s method yang kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil pengamatan ditemukan dua kelompok Macaca fascicularis, dimana estimasi populasi tertinggi ditemukan pada kelompok 1 di lokasi Blok Pemanfaatan yaitu 47,8 individu/ha dengan kepadatan populasi sebesar 4,78 individu/ha. Sedangkan, estimasi populasi yang paling sedikit ditemukan pada kelompok 2 di lokasi sekitar area Curug Putri sebesar 28,9 individu/ha dengan kepadatan populasinya 2,89 individu/ha. Dari hasil analisa tersebut ditemukan bahwa Macaca fascicularis banyak ditemui di area yang memiliki keanekaragaman jenis tumbuhan tinggi dan area yang minim perjumpaan dengan manusia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian mengenai jumlah populasi Macaca fascicularis ini diharapkan menjadi informasi penting, sehingga dapat digunakan untuk memantau dan mengelola populasi Macaca fascicularis dikawasan Tahura Banten. Abstract

Kemampuan mengolah data statistik merupakan keterampilan penting bagi mahasiswa pendidikan biologi. Penggunaan Microsoft Excel dalam pembelajaran statistika diharapkan dapat mempermudah proses pengolahan data dan mengurangi beban kognitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat dan jenis beban kognitif mahasiswa saat menggunakan Excel dalam tugas statistik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan instrumen berupa angket berbasis teori Cognitive Load, mencakup tiga dimensi: intrinsic, extraneous, dan germane load. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa intrinsic load berada pada kategori tinggi (3,70), extraneous load kategori sedang (2,94), dan germane load kategori tinggi (4,15). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun tugas statistik cukup kompleks, mahasiswa mampu mengalokasikan sumber daya kognitif secara positif. Namun, masih terdapat aspek teknis yang dapat disederhanakan untuk mengurangi beban kognitif yang tidak perlu. Rekomendasi diberikan untuk pengembangan desain pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan panduan bertahap dan media pembelajaran berbasis Excel yang ramah pengguna.

Abstract

Indonesia has a diverse range of freshwater fish species, making it possible for people to cultivate them. Goldfish are among the most economically valued freshwater fish species. Goldfish can be cultivated traditionally, as demonstrated by the indigenous people of Kasepuhan Citorek Lebak, Banten Province, who continue to practice traditional natural resource management. This project aimed to investigate goldfish farming utilizing an ethnozoological strategy to develop goldfish potential in the Kasepuhan Citorek and use it as the biology learning content. This study has been conducted in January 2024. Data were gathered through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis is carried out in a systematic manner using the triangulation technique. The results of the study found that the process of cultivating Sinyonya and Kumpai goldfish types in the Kasepuhan Citorek area still follows the customs for generations by utilizing the surroundings and can be used as the learning content in biology learning for grade ten senior high school in the basic competencies of biodiversity and ecosystem studies. Goldfish are kept in cages along the river. Kijing and rice field snails constitute 90% of their daily diet. The spawning process of one female with three or four male goldfish on the rice field can be harvested eight months later. Goldfish farming gives considerable economic benefits to the indigenous inhabitants of Kasepuhan Citorek.The uniqueness of goldfish cultivation in Kasepuhan Citorek,  it can be concluded that this study can be recommended used as a biology learning content of ecosystem and biodiversity studies in senior high school level.

Abstract

Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS) siswa saat ini tergolong rendah disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang kurang kontektual dan teoritis, siswa kurang dilibatkan secara aktif, terbatasnya integrasi potensi lokal dan teknologi. Melalui pengembangan E-modul bermuatan Etnobotani terintegrasi aplikasi PictureThis memungkinkan siswa mengamati dan mengidentifikasi secara langsung tanaman lokal menggunakan teknologi, integrasi konteks lokal dalam pelestarian lingkungan agar siswa memperoleh pengetahuan tentang tanaman lokal melalui serangkaian proses ilmiah. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengembangan, efektivitas dan respon pengguna terhadap E-modul bermuatan Etnobotani terintegrasi aplikasi PictureThis terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan Research and Development model ADDIE. Sampel 35 siswa kelas X dan satu guru biologi SMAN 1 Warunggunung. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi studi awal, angket uji kelayakan produk berdasarkan materi, media dan bahasa, angket uji kelayakan produk berdasarkan skala terbatas dan besar, angket respon pengguna dan uji pretest-posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata uji kelayakan produk sebesar 84% dengan kategori sangat layak. Uji efektivitas media pembelajaran P-value 0.005 (0.005 < 0.05), maka terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara pretest dan posttest. Respon siswa terhadap media pembelajaran sebesar 88% kategori sangat layak.
