Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of the circular economy in improving the sustainability of the creative industry in Indonesia. The background of the research departs from global problems related to high material consumption and waste, as well as the significant contribution of the creative sector to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Although the concept of the circular economy is increasingly recognized internationally, its implementation in Indonesia's creative industry is still limited and partial. This study uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory case study design. The subjects of the study were 15 business actors in the fashion, crafts, and culinary subsectors in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, licensed employee questionnaires, participatory observations, and documentation studies, and were thematically analyzed. The results of the study show that the implementation of the circular economy in the creative sector is more focused on the use of residual materials, the use of recycled materials, and the replacement of environmentally friendly packaging. The main obstacles include cost limitations, lack of market incentives, and low consumer literacy. The findings also confirm variations across subsectors: fashion excels in the use of leftover fabrics, crafts in recycled materials, and culinary in plastic reduction. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of integrating circular principles into business strategies, employee education, and government policy support. This is expected to accelerate the transition to a more competitive, sustainable, and adaptive creative industry to global demands.

Abstract

The development of e-commerce in Indonesia has driven significant changes in consumer behavior. Local marketplaces such as Tokopedia, Shopee, and Bukalapak compete fiercely with global marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, and AliExpress. This study aims to: (1) compare consumer behavior in local and global marketplaces, (2) identify the main factors influencing consumer preferences, and (3) analyze the impact of trust variables, security, product variation, and service quality on purchase decisions. The method used is qualitative research with a comparative study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed with Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The results show that trust and transaction security are the most dominant factors in influencing purchase decisions, followed by ease of use and quality of customer service. Local marketplaces are superior in terms of trust and convenience of transactions, while global marketplaces are stronger in product variety. The conclusion of this study is that Indonesian consumer behavior is more determined by trust and security factors, not just product or price variation. The practical implication is that local marketplaces need to expand product variety to be more competitive, while global marketplaces need to adapt payment methods and customer service according to the needs of Indonesian consumers.

Abstract

Increasing consumer awareness of environmental issues is driving companies to adopt green marketing strategies to strengthen their competitiveness. In the Indonesian food and beverage industry, green marketing practices are considered crucial due to the high consumption rate and significant contribution to environmental waste. This study aims to analyze the influence of green marketing dimensions (product, price, promotion, and distribution) on brand loyalty. The study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 200 food and beverage consumer respondents who had purchased environmentally friendly products. The research instrument, a questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale, was tested for validity and reliability using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Cronbach's Alpha. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS software. The results showed that green product (β = 0.42, p < 0.001) and green promotion (β = 0.36, p < 0.001) had the largest significant influence on brand loyalty, while green price (β = 0.24, p < 0.05) and green distribution (β = 0.19, p < 0.05) also had significant but relatively weaker influence. The model explained 61.3% variance in brand loyalty. These findings confirm that Indonesian consumers prioritize the quality of environmentally friendly products and the authenticity of promotional communications over price. The implications emphasize the importance for food and beverage companies to strengthen sustainable product innovation, develop authentic marketing communications, and integrate green strategies into their business value chains to enhance consumer loyalty and contribute to sustainable development in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

The common factors determining Commercial banks’ lending to SMEs are internal and external. This study assessed the combined effect of these two factors that determine the commercial banks’ credit accessibility and SMEs’ growth in Nigeria. Data from 1990 to 2023 were used to evaluate the hypothesis. The outcome demonstrates that the internal factors of commercial banks factors on credit accessibility to SMEs were 0.039110 and statistically significant at the 5% level (p-value = 0.0254). The outcome suggests that internal factors of commercial bank determinants on the availability of credit to SMEs play a significant impact on the expansion of SMEs in Nigeria. At the 5 per cent level, the external influence of commercial banks on SMEs' access to credit was -0.014003 and statistically insignificant (p-value = 0.2757). The results will substantially aid in designing and implementing monetary policy about the cash reserve requirement. It also conveys to SMEs the significance of cash reserve requirements in improving loan accessibility in Nigeria. As a result, the paper recommends that monetary policy be continually improved to favour SMEs because doing so will facilitate their expansion.

Abstract

Income inequality remains an urgent issue in developing countries, which can hinder economic growth and social stability. In the last decade, digital financial inclusion has grown rapidly as a potential solution to narrow this gap by opening up access to financial services for previously unreachable communities. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital financial inclusion on income inequality in developing countries, focusing on the potential of financial technology in narrowing economic gaps. Using econometric methods with panel data from several developing countries for the period 2015 to 2023, this model measures the impact of access to digital financial services on the distribution of people's income. The data used included variables related to digital payment adoption, mobile financial service usage, and access to digital credit, which were analyzed using the dynamic panel regression method. The results show that increasing digital financial inclusion has a significant negative correlation with income inequality. This indicates that access to digital financial services can encourage income equity by providing a wider means of economic inclusion. These findings have important implications for policymakers in designing digital financial strategies to support more inclusive economic stability

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) 's rapid adoption in agriculture transforms labor efficiency, especially in agri-tech firms. This study explores the role of AI in enhancing labor productivity from the perspectives of human resource (HR) managers in the sector. The primary objective is to understand how AI technologies influence labor allocation, management practices, and workforce adaptation. Utilizing a qualitative research methodology, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with HR managers in agri-tech firms. Thematic analysis was applied to interpret the data, highlighting key trends in AI implementation. Results show that AI significantly reduces manual labor in repetitive tasks like crop monitoring and irrigation, allowing firms to reallocate human resources to higher-value roles. However, challenges such as employee resistance, skill gaps, and high implementation costs were also reported. HR strategies, including phased AI implementation and extensive training programs, have effectively managed workforce transitions. The study concludes that AI is vital for improving labor efficiency in agriculture, but its full potential requires careful management of human resources to mitigate resistance and enhance technical proficiency. These findings offer practical implications for HR managers and policymakers aiming to integrate AI sustainably into agricultural labor practices

Abstract

The proliferation of digital misinformation has fundamentally altered organizational information environments, creating serious challenges for leadership development, coaching culture, and performance management systems. Despite growing research on fake news and digital communication ethics, there remains limited understanding of how misinformation directly influences organizational dynamics. This research aims to synthesize empirical and conceptual evidence on the impact of misinformation on the integrity of coaching culture, leadership authenticity, and the reliability of performance indicators. Employing a systematic literature review (SLR) based on PRISMA 2020 guidelines, data were collected from Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and Emerald Insight, covering publications between 2013 and 2025. From an initial pool of 1,246 studies, 102 articles met the inclusion criteria after rigorous screening and quality appraisal. Data were extracted and coded using standardized templates, and thematic analysis, complemented by bibliometric mapping (VOSviewer 1.6.20), was conducted to identify major conceptual domains. Four central themes emerged: misinformation and organizational communication, leadership integrity and ethical vulnerability, the resilience of coaching culture, and the reliability of performance indicators. Results reveal that misinformation erodes trust in communication, promotes unethical leadership behavior, and distorts organizational performance data. This review integrates information integrity theory, ethical leadership frameworks, and coaching culture models to propose the concept of informational authenticity, which refers to an organization’s capacity to maintain transparent, verifiable, and ethical communication flows. Maintaining information integrity is, therefore, a strategic necessity for sustaining ethical leadership and coaching excellence in the digital era.
