Abstract

The digital era has brought significant changes to various aspects of social life, including the structure and dynamics of family relationships. Among the middle class, the high penetration of digital technology has led to a transformation of social values that have traditionally underpinned family relations, such as togetherness, parental authority, and face-to-face communication. This article aims to examine how social values within middle-class families have shifted as a result of digitalization, and how family members renegotiate their roles and relationships in this context. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method involving five urban middle-class families in Indonesia. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participant observation, and analysis of digital documents (social media and family digital communication). The findings reveal that digital technology mediates relationships among family members in ambivalent ways: on one hand, it strengthens connectivity; on the other hand, it triggers fragmentation of interactions and redefinitions of values such as intimacy, discipline, and authority. Traditional values are being transformed into new, more flexible forms, which are also vulnerable to conflict and generational gaps. This study highlights the importance of critical awareness within families in managing technology use to maintain social cohesion within the household.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged the implementation of blended learning as a learning strategy that combines face-to-face and online learning methods. In the context of English language learning, blended learning is believed to be able to improve learners' participation and learning outcomes, but empirical evidence on its effectiveness is still limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of blended learning implementation on learners' engagement and performance in English language learning at secondary education level. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 120 students from two purposively selected high schools. The experimental group used a Learning Management System (LMS)-based blended learning model, while the control group followed conventional learning. Data were collected through learning engagement questionnaire and English achievement test, then analyzed using independent t-test and simple linear regression. The results showed that students in the blended learning group had higher levels of engagement and significantly better learning achievement than the control group (p < 0.05). The findings indicate that blended learning can be an effective strategy in improving the quality of English language learning, particularly in increasing students' active participation and academic outcomes.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Islamic fintech in Indonesia coincides with the enactment of Law No. 27/2022 on Personal Data Protection (UU PDP), creating challenges for organizations to comply with both. This study reviews how organizations prepare for Sharia-compliant digital transformation under these laws. A systematic review of 73 studies from 2020-2025, following PRISMA, identified relevant peer-reviewed articles, conference papers, and regulations on readiness and Islamic fintech. Thematic analysis revealed seven key readiness dimensions: technological infrastructure (91.8%), Sharia compliance (87.7%), regulatory adaptation (80.8%), human capital (76.7%), financial resources (69.9%), organizational culture (64.4%), and stakeholder engagement (58.9%). UU PDP compliance issues, especially data protection officers (80.9%), significantly affect organizations. Success factors include leadership and Sharia board integration, though assessment frameworks lack empirical validation. Islamic fintech needs unique readiness considerations beyond traditional models, with religious governance as a new key dimension. However, reactive compliance and validation gaps highlight opportunities for improvement in organizational strategies.

Abstract

Global supply chain crises due to war, pandemics, climate change, and exchange rate fluctuations have put great pressure on food price stability in developing countries, including Indonesia. This impact not only increases the price of local agricultural products, but also suppresses the sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which are the backbone of the national food economy. This study aims to analyze the influence of the global supply chain crisis on the price of local agricultural products in Indonesia, identify the main transmission channels, and formulate a business continuity plan (BCP) strategy that is applicable to agricultural MSMEs. The research uses a mixed-method approach through quantitative data analysis of food commodity prices for the 2022–2024 period, combined with semi-structured interviews and questionnaires to 20 agricultural MSMEs in West Java, Central Java, and South Sulawesi. Data were analyzed by descriptive-statistical techniques and qualitative thematic analysis. The findings show an increase in domestic rice prices of more than 16% and logistics costs increased by 30% during the study period. Most MSMEs (72%) report increased input costs, while key adaptation strategies include supplier diversification, spare stock, and digital adoption. MSMEs that implement a dual strategy are able to reduce the risk of supply disruptions by up to 30% compared to those that do not adapt. This research contributes to strengthening the literature on food supply chain resilience as well as providing practical recommendations for MSMEs and the basis for public policies that are more in favor of price stability and community food security.

Abstract

Countries with abundant natural resources (SDA) are often trapped in the resource curse paradox, where natural resources actually trigger corruption, inequality, and institutional failure. Indonesia, although rich in nickel, coal, and palm oil, is often considered to be experiencing this phenomenon. Similar conditions are also experienced by Nigeria, Venezuela, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), despite having large reserves of oil, gas, and minerals. This article aims to analyze the relationship between natural resource wealth and the level of corruption, as well as compare Indonesia's position with other countries that experience a resource curse. This study uses a comparative qualitative approach with secondary data from the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2018–2024, World Bank reports, and UNDP. The analysis focused on comparing indicators of corruption, governance, and economic performance in four resource-rich countries. The findings show that although Indonesia has a higher CPI score than Nigeria, Venezuela, and the DRC, public perception of corruption remains high due to the contrast between natural wealth and development achievements. The four countries show a similar pattern: weak institutions, rent politics, and elite dominance in natural resource management. Indonesia still has the opportunity to improve natural resource governance through strengthening regulations and transparency, so that it does not fall into a more severe resource curse trap. The phenomenon of resource curse is not only related to the amount of natural resource wealth, but also greatly influenced by the quality of institutions and governance. The study emphasizes the need for institutional reform, transparency in natural resource management, and a strong anti-corruption framework to ensure that natural resources are a blessing in disguise
