Abstract

This research aims to better understand the interplay between Indonesian students' socioeconomic background, their views on the efficacy of language instruction, and the overall results of their language classes. This study aimed to achieve that goal by including 350 undergraduate students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang who were taking English-language courses. Based on their socioeconomic status, they were categorized. In response to a questionnaire, they shared their views on the best ways to acquire a second language in various linguistic settings. To ensure that all participants were on the same page in terms of their overall level of proficiency or the results of their language study, they were also given a practice test of the TOEFL exam. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and other parametric statistical tests were applied to the quantitative data. The results showed that the students' socioeconomic position had a positive correlation with the overall language learning outcome. In addition, the results showed that the participants' ideas about language learning had a significant impact on their language learning outcomes. The results suggest that both the rate of language acquisition and the likelihood of measurement errors can be improved provided language instructors have the information they need to help their students overcome negative beliefs.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of social interaction in forming and maintaining the symbolic meaning of Tedong Bonga in the Tanah Toraja Society . The study uses an explanatory case study approach and uses a purposive sampling technique with 1 key informant, namely a traditional figure and 7 supporting informants, youth or students from Tana Toraja. Data collection in this study was carried out through interviews, observations and documentation. The data analysis technique used was qualitative. This study uses triangulation to obtain data validity. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that tedong bonga is a cultural symbol that has spiritual, social, and economic meaning for the Toraja Society . This meaning is formed and maintained through social interaction in the Rambu Solo' procession, activities at the animal market, and informal education by traditional elders. In addition to being a symbol of respect for ancestors, tedong bonga also reflects the social status of the family. The role of traditional elders is very important in passing on these values to the younger generation so that they remain sustainable amidst changing times.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain technologies to enhance cybersecurity. AI, with its advanced machine learning and deep learning models, significantly improves threat detection and response times. By learning from data and adapting to new threats, AI offers faster and more accurate detection of malware and zero-day attacks. Blockchain, on the other hand, ensures data integrity through its decentralized and tamper-proof architecture, making it highly effective in safeguarding sensitive information, particularly in sectors such as healthcare and finance. The study examines the combined benefits of AI and Blockchain, focusing on real-world applications like the UK's National Health Service and Google DeepMind collaboration. Despite the promising potential, the implementation of these technologies faces challenges including data privacy concerns, a lack of technical expertise, infrastructure limitations, and regulatory uncertainties. The study emphasizes the need for further research, stronger regulatory frameworks, and enhanced digital literacy to fully realize the potential of AI and Blockchain in creating a secure and resilient digital infrastructure. Recommendations include the development of hybrid models combining AI and Blockchain, the adoption of Blockchain in critical sectors, and fostering public-private partnerships to accelerate technological integration. Ultimately, AI and Blockchain together present a sustainable solution for combating cyber threats and securing digital ecosystems.

Abstract

This article examines global strategies aimed at achieving equitable and quality access to higher, technical, and vocational education (HTVE) within the framework of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Using a qualitative, literature-based approach, the study explores inclusive policies, innovative financing mechanisms, cross-sectoral collaborations, and the role of technology in expanding learning opportunities, particularly for marginalized groups. The findings reveal that a multidimensionalstrategy one that includes structural reform, industry engagement, and digital transformation is essential to address persistent disparities across diverse national contexts. The paper emphasizes that increasing access must be balanced with improvements in educational quality and relevance so that HTVE can meaningfully contribute to sustainable social and economic development. These insights offer valuable input for formulating more responsive and equity-driven global education policies.

Abstract

Indonesia's creative economy contributed approximately 7.44% to national GDP by 2022, with fashion, culinary, and crafts as leading sectors. However, music and visual arts remain underrepresented despite their cultural significance and growth potential. This article investigates policy and implementation gaps that hinder the inclusion of these sectors, focusing on legal, financial, and infrastructural dimensions. Employing a qualitative policy analysis approach, the study draws on regulatory documents (e.g., UU 24/2019, PP 24/2022), statistical reports, and program data from 2022–2024. The research identifies key barriers such as inconsistent regional application of national policies, lack of operational SOPs for IP valuation, limited access to creative financing, and systemic royalty management issues. Findings indicate that while regulatory support exists, it often fails to translate into practical benefits for music and visual arts stakeholders. Royalty distribution remains opaque and underutilized; creative financing tools are constrained by valuation and administrative gaps; and export initiatives rarely prioritize intangible cultural products. Rural areas face compounded challenges due to weak outreach and infrastructure. To ensure inclusivity, the upcoming 2026–2035 Creative Economy Masterplan must adopt broader metrics beyond GDP encompassing cultural participation, regional equity, and digital engagement. Institutional coordination, transparent governance, and grassroots empowerment are critical to aligning national ambitions with ground level realities.

Abstract

The intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and human creativity has emerged as a dynamic area of exploration, particularly with the development of generative AI models like GPT-4, DALL·E, and MidJourney. These tools not only automate tasks but also actively contribute to creative processes, resulting in collaborative co-creation between humans and machines. This study investigates the evolving role of AI in creative industries, analyzing secondary data from literature published between 2022 and 2025. By examining key theoretical frameworks, methodologies, and trends, the study identifies the methodological shift from experimental design to reflective frameworks, highlights a lack of unified definitions for co-creation, and emphasizes the growing need to engage with the cultural and ethical implications of AI in creativity. The research contributes to a deeper understanding of machine–human co-creation, its implications for authorship, and the future trajectory of creative partnerships between humans and AI.

Abstract

Purpose This study aims to enhance the efficacy of Local Wisdom Problem-Based Learning (LWPBL) in fostering students' Self-Directed Learning (SDL). The PjBL elements proposed by Larmer and Mergendoller include Providing a problem, Involvement in the inquiry process, Authenticity, Students' Voice, Reflection, Critique and Revision, and Public Product were adopted.   Methodology To accomplish the research goals, questionnaires were employed as the primary means of data gathering and disseminated to a sample of 100 students from four public high schools in South Sulawesi, who were taught using the LWPjBL method in their English class. The samples were chosen using the quota sampling technique. Garrison’s model of the Self-Directed Learning Aptitude Scale (SDLAS) was used to measure the student’s aptitude for SDL. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS).   Results/Findings The findings of this study indicated that the eight elements mentioned above, have a favorable impact on students' SDL. The result of data analysis indicated that 98% of the eight elements could explain the influence on students’ SDL.   Implications The LWPjBL is strongly recommended for teachers, particularly those teaching English in high schools, to enhance the student’s learning experience and SDL.
