Abstract

The leading commodities in Simalungun Regency will provide a strategic position to be developed with various considerations. The plantation sector in Simalungun Regency has quite a lot of potential to be developed. There are several plantation commodities planted in Simalungun Regency such as rubber, coconut, cocoa, candlenut, aren, areca nut, robusta coffee and arabica coffee. Identification of leading commodities, especially in the plantation sector, is strategic to increase economic growth. This study aims to identify leading or base commodities in Simalungun Regency. The data in this study uses secondary data from Simalungun Regency in Figures, North Sumatra Province in Figures, and research journals. Data analysis to identify base commodities uses location quotient analysis. The results of the analysis show LQ> 1, so it is categorized as a base commodity. Plantation commodities included in the base category are palm oil, arabica coffee, robusta coffee and tobacco, while non-base commodities are coconut, cocoa and rubber,

Abstract

Rice plants are cultivated in more than 100 countries in the world, of which 90% are grown on the Asian continent in the Southeast Asia region. The land area of 152 million hectares produces around 600 million tons annually. The majority of farmers in Rimbo Kedui Village, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province work as lowland rice farmers. This research wants to analyze farming efficiency based on land area. Apart from that, this research wants to analyze the influence of land area on income and production of lowland rice farming in Rimbo Kedui Village, Seluma, Bengkulu. The number of samples in this study was 68 people. The research was carried out in Rimbo Kedui Village, West Seluma District, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province. Election of Rimbo Kedui Subdistrict. The population in this study were farmers in Rimbo Kedui Village, Seluma Barat District. Data analysis uses income and efficiency analysis, as well as using multiple linear regression data analysis. The results of efficiency calculations show that lowland rice farming with a small land area and a large land area is 1.92 and 181. So lowland rice farming with a small land area with a size of less than 0.5 Ha is more efficient than farming with a land area of more than 0.5 Ha. Based on a simple linear regression test, it shows that land area influences income and production of lowland rice farming. So the larger the land area, the greater the farmer's income and production.

Abstract

KUD Sumber Makmur is one of the Village Unit Cooperatives located in Pelalawan Regency, Riau. As a form of sustainable palm oil management, cooperative members' oil palm lands that have reached economic maturity need to be replanted. Apart from that, managing KUD cooperatives requires a cooperative business development strategy model. This research aims to identify strategies for rejuvenating smallholder palm oil and business development for KUD Sumber Makmur using the Business Model Canvas approach. The research was conducted in September 2023 at KUD Sumber Makmur, Pelalawan Regency, Riau. The data collection methods in this research are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis used in this research uses a qualitative descriptive type. The strategy for rejuvenating smallholder oil palms at KUD Sumber Makmur consists of the data collection stage and the implementation stage of the smallholder oil palm rejuvenation program. The business development strategy at KUD Sumber Makmur is: The Key Partner of the cooperative is PT Asian Agri, Key Activities of the cooperative consist of a savings and loan unit, agricultural production facilities unit, FFB Transportation unit, and FFB Sales unit, Value Proposition consists of cooperative FFB Quality and Palm Oil Certification, Customer relationships consist of efforts to maintain the quality of FFB and establish good communication with offtakers. Customer segments consist of off-taker companies (PT Asian Agri) and BPDPKS. Key resources consist of partner farmers' land, cooperative buildings, and transportation equipment. Channels consist of Direct and Contract methods, Cost Structure consists of production costs and operational costs, Revenue streams consist of FFB Sales
