Abstract

Islamic education has the main objective of forming faithful, knowledgeable, and noble human beings. However, in the context of a multicultural society, Islamic education faces challenges in instilling the values of diversity without eliminating the essence of Islamic teachings. This article aims to analyze philosophically and pedagogically how Islamic education can be revitalized to remain relevant in a heterogeneous society. Using a qualitative method based on literature studies, this study examines the concept of human ontology in Islam, multicultural values in the Qur'an and hadith, and strategies for implementing inclusive Islamic education. The results of the study show that Islam conceptually teaches the principles of tolerance, social justice, and harmonious life in diversity. However, in practice, Islamic education still tends to be homogeneous and does not accommodate the dynamics of multiculturalism. Therefore, the revitalization of Islamic education can be done through the integration of the Islamic educational philosophy approach with multicultural pedagogy, updating the curriculum to be more inclusive, and strengthening the role of educators in instilling an attitude of tolerance and openness. With this strategy, Islamic education can become an instrument that not only forms religious and moral individuals, but also builds a harmonious, just, and democratic society in diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Baamboozle as an interactive, technology-based learning medium to enhance students’ learning motivation in Islamic Education, particularly in understanding multicultural concepts from an Islamic perspective. The Research and Development (R&D) method was applied using the Hannafin and Peck model, which consists of three systematic stages: needs analysis, design, and development–implementation. The development process included expert validation, media refinement, and user testing involving PGMI Class A students at UIN Madura. The findings indicate that the Baamboozle media meets the feasibility criteria based on expert evaluations and student responses. Material experts assessed the product at 86%, linguists at 84%, and media experts at 89%, all categorized as feasible. Meanwhile, student assessments yielded 72%, falling into the sufficiently feasible category. These results demonstrate that Baamboozle is not only appropriate for instructional use but also has the potential to strengthen students’ learning motivation through interactive and engaging quiz-based activities. Overall, this research confirms that the systematic development of digital learning media using the Hannafin and Peck model can effectively support Islamic Education learning, particularly in topics requiring conceptual understanding and active participation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of Al-Basyar in the Qur'anic context and its implications for Islamic education, focusing on how human physical and spiritual dimensions are integrated into learning. The research employs a qualitative approach through a literature review, analyzing relevant books, journal articles, and Islamic texts to explore the theoretical and practical aspects of Al-Basyar in educational settings. The findings reveal that Islamic education grounded in the Al-Basyar concept emphasizes a balanced development of students’ physical and spiritual aspects. Educators are encouraged to create learning environments that nurture both physical well-being and mental health, while curricula and assessment systems should holistically integrate moral values and Islamic health education. This approach enables students to develop not only cognitive intelligence but also ethical awareness, physical vitality, and spiritual resilience. The study highlights the crucial role of teachers in modeling healthy behaviors, guiding students’ personal growth, and collaborating with parents to reinforce moral and spiritual education. By applying the Al-Basyar framework, Islamic education can effectively produce generations who are knowledgeable, morally upright, and capable of contributing positively to society.
