Anxiety in pregnancy often occurs due to psychological changes and physical changes that cause discomfort, causing the mother to become anxious. One of the physical changes that occurs rapidly during pregnancy is the increasing gestational age, causing the pregnant woman to experience physiological lordosis to lower back pain. Assistance during pregnancy by introducing, demonstrating and monitoring the process of implementing progressive muscle relaxation will make pregnant women more confident in overcoming anxiety and lower back pain during pregnancy so that the mother is able to empower herself during pregnancy. The purpose of this service is to provide assistance to pregnant women with progressive muscle relaxation actions in reducing anxiety and lower back pain during pregnancy. This activity is carried out using the lecture method, question and answer, demonstration, and activity evaluation. The assistance activity was carried out 4 times. The implementation procedure includes socialization, training, lectures, question and answer, demonstration, and activity evaluation. The results of the assistance activity increased knowledge from 16.6% to 75% after assistance. The skills of pregnant women also increased in practicing progressive muscle relaxation by 66.66% after assistance. Assistance efforts can be carried out with a longer duration of time and with innovative method updates such as the use of digital media. This activity is effective to be implemented for pregnant women as a form of self-empowerment during pregnancy.. should be minimum.

Abstract

Postpartum fatigue is a feeling of tiredness experienced by around 65-80% of mothers after giving birth. Fatigue can trigger post partum depression during the postpartum period. In Indonesia, the incidence of post partum blues is 50% -70%. One of the method is meridian accupoints massage intervention to reduce fatigue and prevent post partum depression. This study aims to analyze the effects of meridian accupoint massage on fatigue and prevention post partum depression in the post partum period. A quasi experimental design with pretest posttest nonequivalent control group was utilized. The study group consisted of 28 postpartum women on the 5th day at the Nining Lubuk Pakam Clinic. The instrument used to measure fatigue is th. e Postpartum Fatique Scale, prevention of post partum depression is measured by the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Data analysis uses independent and dependent t-tests. The experimental group demonstrated a significantly larger decrease compared with the control groupin measures of fatique and prevention post partum depressive. There was a significant difference in maternal fatigue and prevention of post partum depression after meridian accupoint massage between the intervention group and the control group with a value of p=0.003; p=0.002. The average reduction in fatigue after meridian accupoint massage was 27.11%, while the reduction in stress as an assessment for preventing post partum depression was 43.41%. Meridian Accupoint Massage has been proven to have an influence on reducing fatigue and preventing post partum depression during the postpartum period. For midwives to be able to learn and apply this method to normal postpartum mothers in order to improve the quality of life of postpartum mothers. Meridian accupoint massage intervention can be used as learning material in complementary therapy during the postpartum period.

Abstract

Pregnancy and childbirth are extraordinary physiological experiences but can also be a source of psychological stress for women, especially for primigravidas who have no previous experience. Fear of childbirth often arises from uncertainty about pain management, concerns about the fetus's condition, and a lack of adequate information. This condition results in increased stress, sleep disturbances, and even mild depression, which can affect the mother's physical and mental readiness for childbirth. This study aims to analyze the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on fear of childbirth in primigravida mothers. The type of research used is an experimental study with a pretest-posttest without a control group. The sample consisted of third-trimester primigravida pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria, using a purposive sampling technique. The intervention in the form of progressive muscle relaxation exercises was given for 2 weeks at a frequency of three times per week and independent practice at home. The research instruments used were the Wijma Delivery Expectancy/Experience Questionnaire (W-DEQ), a demographic and obstetric history questionnaire, and a compliance sheet. Data analysis used dependent and independent t-tests. The results showed a significant decrease in fear of childbirth scores after progressive muscle relaxation with a p-value of 0.001. In conclusion, progressive muscle relaxation training is effective in improving the physical and psychological readiness of primigravida mothers for childbirth. This study recommends that health workers, particularly midwives, integrate progressive muscle relaxation training as a non-pharmacological intervention in prenatal classes.

Abstract

Breastfeeding is one of the most important factors in a baby's health. Evaluate maternal performance and provide feedback to increase breast milk production and breastfeeding self-efficacy. Hypnopressure can help breastfeeding mothers increase breast milk production and breastfeeding self-efficacy. Low self-efficacy affects new mothers' ability to maintain breastfeeding. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of hypnopressure on breast milk production and breastfeeding self-efficacy. The population in this study were all post partum mothers who breastfed on the first day of birth who were at the Nining Pelawati Lubuk Pakam Clinic, Deli Serdang. The intervention group received hypnopressure; the control group received standard care. Data between groups was compared for breast milk production and breastfeeding self-efficacy scores. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling with a sample of 34 respondents. The instruments for this research are the Standard Operational Procedure for Hypnopressure, an Electric Breast Pump and the Breastfeeding Self Efficacy Scale (BSES) Short Form. The data analysis used is the dependent, independent t test, Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test. The results of this study showed that there was a change in increasing breast milk production before and after being given hyonopressure with a mean difference of 57.58 and a p value = 0.00, thus showing an increase in breast milk production before and after the intervention. The breastfeeding self-efficacy variable shows changes before and after with a mean difference of 19.3 and a p value = 0.00. Hypnopressure increases breast milk production and breastfeeding self-efficacy in breastfeeding mothers. Hypnopressure can be effective in maintaining breastfeeding in mothers by 41.18% and increasing breast milk production by 60.05%. It is recommended that midwives apply the hypopressure method in providing the best service for mothers and babies.
