Abstract

This article aims to review community service activities on Mapur Island, Bintan Pesisir, and Riau Islands. This service activity is based on the premise that social problems exist, such as low levels of children's learning motivation, development of potential interests and talents, and children's literacy skills. The purpose of this article is to analyze each stage or cycle of service and its benefits to improve the quality of education on Mapur Island. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method is used in service activities carried out through the stages or cycles of the action research method, namely, social reflection, social mapping, participatory planning, and action implementation. The results showed that the innovative pedagogy program on Mapur Island, through inspirational classes can foster children's learning motivation, peer counseling can identify children's potential talent interests, and reading corners can improve children's literacy skills. The benefits include improved academic skills, learning motivation, and understanding of the importance of education. In addition, the program creates an environment that supports the development of children's academic potential and community awareness of the importance of education for children's future. It can be concluded that community service activities on Mapur Island, Bintan Pesisir, and Riau Islands have successfully contributed to improving children's reading, writing, and counting literacy skills, as well as children's learning motivation through inspirational classes and recommending the potential of children's talent interests through peer counseling programs. Keywords: Pedagogic, Innovative, Motivation, Literacy, Service Abstrak Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Pulau Mapur, Bintan Pesisir, Kepulauan Riau. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan atas dasar permasalahan sosial seperti: motivasi belajar anak, pengembangan potensi minat bakat dan kemampuan literasi anak masih terbilang rendah. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk menganalisis setiap tahapan atau siklus pengabdian dan manfaatnya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Pulau Mapur. Metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan melalui tahapan atau siklus metode riset aksi yakni, refleksi sosial, pemetaan sosial, perencanaan partisipatif dan pelaksanaan aksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan program pedagogi inovatif di Pulau Mapur, melalui kelas inspiratif dapat menumbuhkan motivasi belajar anak, peer counseling dapat mengidentifikasi potensi minat bakat anak, dan pojok bacaan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi anak. Manfaatnya meliputi peningkatan kemampuan akademis, motivasi belajar, dan pemahaman akan pentingnya pendidikan. Selain itu, program ini dapat menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung pengembangan potensi akademik anak dan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pendidikan bagi masa depan anak-anak. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Pulau Mapur, Bintan Pesisir, Kepulauan Riau berhasil memberikan berkontribusi terhadap peningkatkan kemampuan literasi membaca, menulis dan menghitung anak, sekaligus motivasi belajar anak melalui kelas inspiratif dan merekomendasikan potensi minat bakat anak melalui program peer counseling. Abstract

This study examines the impact of performing the Hajj pilgrimage on an individual's social status in rural Lampung communities. The aim of this research is to analyze how the titles 'Haji' or 'Hajjah' influence social standing, religious leadership roles, and their relation to economic capacity. The research methods used are observation and interviews. The findings show that individuals who have completed the Hajj experience a significant rise in social status. The title "Haji" or "Hajjah" attached to their names adds prestige and respect within the community. Moreover, they are often entrusted with leading religious and social events and assume important roles in local religious leadership. The social status of Hajj is also reflected in changes in clothing style and other physical symbols, indicating a stronger religious commitment. The ability to perform Hajj is often associated with good economic standing, further reinforcing the positive perception of their financial status. Overall, the Hajj not only elevates social status but also fosters an increase in religious education within rural Lampung communities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis realitas pembelajaran sosiologi, peran guru dan faktor yang mempengaruhi implementasi pendidikan karakater di daerah terdepan, terluar dan tertinggal (3T). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penedekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus di SMAN 1 Bangkunat Belimbing, Pesisir Barat, Lampung. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari observasi wawancara mendalam dan studi dokumen. Sedangkan, teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, display data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peran guru dalam implementasi pendidikan karakter melalui pembelajaran sosiologi di daerah terdepan, terluar, dan tertinggal (3T) sangat penting, tidak hanya sebagai pengajar tetapi juga sebagai pembimbing dan contoh teladan bagi peserta didik. Pengembangan model pengajaran yang melibatkan pembuatan mading tentang masalah sosial aktual telah membantu mengintegrasikan pembelajaran sosiologi dengan konteks kehidupan sehari-hari peserta didik, diharapkan peserta didik dapat lebih memahami dampak negatif dari perilaku-perilaku sosial yang merugikan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa upaya guru dalam mengintegrasikan pembelajaran dengan konteks sosial aktual telah membuktikan dampak positifnya dalam membentuk karakter dan tanggung jawab peserta didik di lingkungan pendidikan tersebut.

Abstract

Bandung Regency Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2020 regarding the development of 100 tourism villages does not explicitly regulate the governance mechanism of tourism villages. Effective governance requires the involvement of individuals as local creators who are capable of initiating and sustaining tourism village management. This study aims to identify the qualities of local creators in driving tourism village governance and determining the sustainability of tourism village communities in Bandung Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach using primary data through observation, interviews, and focus group discussions, as well as secondary data obtained from village records. The informants consist of 23 individuals analyzed at the individual level. Data analysis includes the stages of data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that local initiators with strong leadership, education, experience, capacity, and innovative initiatives serve as local creators capable of mobilizing tourism village governance mechanisms. They operate through penta-helix collaboration, role-sharing dialogues, and profit distribution to ensure community sustainability. Community sustainability is marked by regional and national achievements based on indicators such as increasing tourist numbers, economic gains, and culturally and environmentally based development. Local creators and governance structures interact dynamically to ensure the long-term sustainability of tourism village communities. In conclusion, competent local creators act as key agents in driving adaptive and transformative governance mechanisms that ensure the sustainability of rural tourism communities in Bandung Regency.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan mengkaji tentang kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat melalui inovasi pendidikan sekolah berbasis alam sebagai upaya meningkatkan literasi anak di Desa Pagerwangi, Kecamatan Lembang, Kabupaten Bandung. Kegiatan pengabdian di laksanakan didasarkan atas permasalahan sosial-ekonomi, keterbatasan akses sarana-prasarana dan persepsi masyarakat yang salah mempengaruhi tingkat literasi anak di Desa Pagerwangi terhitung masih rendah. Tujuan artikel ini untuk menjelaskan tahapan pelaksanaan pengabdian dan manfaatnya untuk meningkatkan literasi anak di pedesaan. Metode Participatory Action Research merupakan salah satu model pendekatan partisipatif untuk dilaksanakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian atau pemberdayaan masyarakat, adapun tahapan/siklus metode riset aksi yakni sosialisasi awal, pemetaan sosial, perencanaan partisipatif, pelaksanaan aksi, dan monitoring evaluasi. Pengembangan inovasi Pendidikan melalui pengembangan sekolah alam di Desa Pagerwangi, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berhasil meningkatkan literasi anak-anak dengan melibatkan partisipasi semua stakeholders dan merancang program holistik yang mencakup pembelajaran, pengajian rutin, dan event-event kreatif. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini tidak hanya berfokus pada peningkatan literasi saja, tetapi juga pada pemberdayaan masyarakat dan pengembangan potensi anak-anak di pedesaan. Rencana tindak lanjut kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pengembangan kurikulum berbasis alam, pelatihan guru dan orang tua, pengukuran kemajuan secara berkala, advokasi untuk dukungan berkelanjutan, dan pembentukan jaringan kerjasama dengan pihak terkait untuk menjaga kelangsungan program.
