Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Modified Free Inquiry learning model on students' critical thinking skills in the subject of Science in grade IV of SD Negeri 097820 Bah Jambi in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The independent variable in this study is the Modified Free Inquiry learning model (X) and the dependent variable in this study is students' critical thinking skills (Y). The research method used is an experimental method with a quantitative research type and the number of samples in this study is 25 students based on the Saturated Sampling technique. The research instrument is a questionnaire, a multiple-choice test instrument. The results of students' critical thinking skills show an average pretest of 64.84 while the average posttest value is 82.80 and for the questionnaire students get an average value of 90.24. Furthermore, the hypothesis tester shows that the t count is 6.599 while the t table is 2.069, it is proven that the hypothesis is greater, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. With a determination coefficient value of 0.65, it can be explained that students' critical thinking is 65% determined by the magnitude of the modified free inquiry learning model and 35% is caused by other factors not examined in this study. Based on this, it shows that there is an influence between the Modified Free Inquiry learning model and students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of basic literacy on the reading ability of fourth grade students at SD Negeri 065011 Medan Selayang, district for the 2023/2024 academic year. This type of research is quantitative using the expost-facto method. The population of this study was all fourth grade students at SD Negeri 065011 Medan Selayang District, totaling 77 students. Sampling was taken using a purposive sampling technique and 28 students were obtained. The results of this study show that students' reading ability is in the very good category with an average of 82.46. The results of this research show that the results of the correlation test can be seen that the correlation coefficient is 0.687, meaning that r_count (0,687) ≥ r_tabel (0.374) then is accepted. So there is a very strong influence between basic literacy on the reading ability of students in class IV of SD Negeri 065011 Medan Selayang District. It can also be seen from the t-test where t_count > t_table, namely 4,817 ≥ 2,056, thus stating that h_a is accepted. This shows that there is a significant positive influence from the use of basic literacy on the reading ability of students in class IV of SD Negeri 065011, Medan Selayang District, Academic Year 2023/2024.

Abstract

This study seeks the effect of the discovery learning model based on Big Book media on student learning outcomes on theme 7 Technological developments in class III of Agia Sophia Private Elementary School in the academic year 2023/2024. This research used quantitative methods. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and the sample used was 30 students in class III. The research results show that student learning outcomes using the Discovery Learning model based on Big Book media are in the excellent category with an average of 80.3 with a correlation test result of 0.846, which means rcount is 0.846 ≥ rtable is 0.367, so Ha is accepted. Therefore, there is a strong effect between the Discovery Learning model based on Big Book media and the student learning outcomes in theme 7 Technological developments in class III of Agia Sophia Private Elementary School in the academic year 2023/2024. It can be seen from the results of the T-test research where tcount 8.403 ≥ ttable 2.048 so Ha is accepted. This shows a significant positive effect from the Discovery Learning based on Big Book media on student learning outcomes in theme 7 Technological developments in class III of Agia Sophia Private Elementary School in the academic year 2023/2024.

Abstract

The present study discusses the influence of the principal's leadership on teacher performance in elementary schools. The research population of all teachers at public elementary school 047159 is 15. The sampling method used is non-probability sampling, specifically saturated sampling for 15 teachers. The data collection instrument is a questionnaire with a Likert scale that has 5 alternatives consisting of 110 items. The instrument validation test used the help of data processing results from SPSS version 25.0, while the instrument reliability used the Alpha Cronbach formula. Data analysis was conducted using simple regression analysis techniques. The research results indicate that the principal's leadership is high with a rate of 33% from the questionnaires filled out by the teachers, while performance is very high with a rate of 47%. Based on the research results, the principal's leadership influences the hypothesis test results, where the calculated value is 2.150 and the table value is 1.77. Thus, it influences the principal's leadership on the teachers' performance.

Abstract

This paper discusses the effect of the direct instruction learning model on student learning outcomes on theme 3 Healthy Food at class V of SD Negeri 173418 Pollung in the academic year 2023/2024. The research method used was an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The research sample involved 30 students. Data collection tools used to determine student learning outcomes were question instruments and questionnaires, which were tested for validation and reliability. The average value of learning outcomes obtained during the pretest was 46,4. After that, students were given treatment using the direct instruction learning model. It, in addition, indicated an average score on the post-test with a score of 86. It can be seen that the pre-test and post-test learning outcomes have increased. The data analysis used comes from the normality test. It is known that the results obtained are Lcount 0.200 ≥ Ltable 0.161, which can be said to be normally distributed. Of the correlation coefficient test, the results indicate rcount 0.811 ≥ rtable 0.361 with the interpretation of the r value obtained in the range 0,800 – 1,000. It can be said that there is a very high relationship between the effect of the direct instruction learning model and the learning outcomes of students in class V. Based on the hypothesis test statistical results obtained with tcount 7.333 ≥ ttable 2.048 or significant value 0.000 ≤ 0.05. So, Ha is rejected, which means that there is an effect of the direct instruction learning model on student learning outcomes.
