Abstract

This research is based on the result of the research in PISA 2015 that science literacy on students is still low. Indonesia that ranked 69 from 76 countries with the average score is still 403 and it means in above average of international score that has 493. One of learning that can increase science literacy on students is problem based learning. It uses the learning that base on problem and the differences of the increasing scale of students’ behavior on science. The method and design in this research uses pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this research are 4th grade elementary students in Kecamatan Palasah with the subjects are from SDN Waringin II and SDN Palasah I. The result of the research shows that learning that based on problem can advance students’ science literacy on those three groups. However, there are the differences the increasing level on those three groups and also the difference of the increasing scale on those three groups.

Abstract

Skills Process Sciences (KPS) is a process in doing activities related to science. Scientific process skills can be improved through a lesson that can support students to participate more actively during the learning process. One of the ways used to make students more active during the learning process is by applying contextual teaching or learning (CTL). In learning CTL, teacher's role is as facilitator, motivator, and creator to help construct student's knowledge. CTL learning can improve the science process skills of class V students on material changes in the properties of objects. This is evidenced by the research that has been done by using classroom action research methods that have done for three cycles. Based on the research, the application of CTL can improve the science process skills of Cikondang II State Elementary School students

Abstract

Social  studies Learning on the material of ethnic and cultural diversity in Indonesia In grade IV A SDN Cimalaka II Cimalaka Subdistrict Sumedang Regency there is a problem where students difficulty in receiving the materials. In the learning process the teacher does not design the model and learning media, So that learning is not meaningful and student learning outcomes are low. The strategy used in overcoming this problem is by applying the two stay two stray learning model with the media of cultural card. The research method used is classroom action research of spiral model and expected to improve student learning outcomes. This study was conducted in three cycles, the increase of student learning outcomes in the first cycle reached 55%, 70% cycle II, and 90% 90% cycle III. Therefore, it can be concluded that the learning by applying the learning model of two stay two stray with the media of cultural card can uplift student learning outcomes on the material of ethnic and cultural diversity in Indonesia in class IV.

Abstract

 This research was conducted as an effort to improve the quality of process and learning result from paragraph writing skill of Indonesian subject in SDN Wargaluyu Kecamatan Ganeas Kabupaten Sumedang through the application of Model Concept Sentence with the game Sherlock Holmes and The Adventure Book. The result of observation and the interview on the initial data indicated that present the problem with the writing competence of student. Based on the problem which is found on the learning process, then the selected method in this research is class action research with Kemmis and Mc Taggart design. Over all, the improvement ofprocess and the result learning occured in three times cycle. The collecting data for research importance was conducted through observation technique, interview, test, and field record. All data which has been found were validated with member check, triangulation, audit trail and expert opinion.  The result of processing data showed that model Concept Sentence with game Sherlock Holmes and The Adventure Book are able to improve the process and the learing result from paragraph writing skill of third grade students of SDN Wargaluyu.

Abstract

Problem based learning makes student to have active role in learning process at class. While, science process skills demand student to have active role in having science experiment. Therefore, there is between problem based learning and science literation. This research took the sample in particular from three classes were grouped into 3 group which are high, middle, and low (TSR), the determination on the test result knowledge of natural science (KAIPA). The three groups were given only one learning method, which is using Learning Cycle. Pre-experimental method was used with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The result of research with significance level α = 0,05 indicates that  problem based learning can improve student’s science process skills in group TSR. However, the difference test results of the three averages data gain group TSR shows the value of 0,421. In conclusion, there is no difference in the improvement of student’s science process skills in TSR Group.

Abstract

Ability of Representation is the process of applying ideas that are poured in symbols to show an understanding of mathematical concepts. The ability of elementary school representation is still low. The investigative approach of quantum strategy allows students to be actively involved because students construct and rediscover the reflected concept. The investigative approach of quantum strategy has a good effect on the ability of mathematical representation of class V students on flat matter. This is evidenced by the study using quasi-experimental methods with pretest-postets control group design that indicates that a quantum-strategy investigative approach improves students' mathematical representation skills including superior student groups, medium, and the lower group. Based on the result of this research, investigative approach of quantum strategy can be used as a solution to improve the mathematical representation ability of elementary school students.Â
