Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges and strategies in enhancing the effectiveness of sexual violence prevention and response task forces in Indonesian religious higher education institutions. The study identifies various obstacles that universities face in implementing policies for the prevention and handling of sexual violence, as well as the strategies they employ to overcome these challenges. This research adopts a qualitative approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with heads of gender and child study centers, members of the sexual violence prevention and response task forces, and lecturers across seven religious higher education institutions in Indonesia. The findings reveal that, although several universities have established task forces, they still encounter major challenges, such as limited trained human resources, victims’ reluctance to report incidents, and conservative campus cultures. However, the strategies implemented, including continuous training for staff and lecturers and the use of technology for reporting, have proven effective in raising awareness and improving responsiveness to sexual violence. This study contributes significantly to the development of policies for the prevention and handling of sexual violence in religious higher education institutions. It recommends strengthening institutional structures, intensifying training programs, and developing more integrated digital reporting systems to create safer and more responsive campuses. Furthermore, this research provides an original contribution by exploring the challenges and strategies faced by religious universities in implementing sexual violence prevention and response policies, offering new insights into how these strategies can be improved and adapted to the specific context of religious higher education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The integrity of the global academic record is under unprecedented threat due to the industrialization of scientific misconduct, driven by paper mills, citation cartels, and identity theft, prompting major bibliographic databases to replace manual curation with algorithmic systems. This study examines the operational mechanics of the Scopus Radar tool, an unsupervised anomaly detection system designed to identify and eliminate articles exhibiting anomalous behavior. We reconstruct the bibliometric indicators that lead to discontinuation by triangulating data from the November 2025 Scopus Discontinued Titles list, public Elsevier policy papers, and independent bibliometric research. Our study of 62 cancelled journals shows that Publication Concerns (59.7%) and Outlier conduct (14.5%) are the top grounds for removal. There are definite tendencies when it comes to hyper-concentrated authorship, quick volume velocity spikes, and citation stacking that does not make sense. We also see a "contagion effect," where certain publications have far greater rates of quitting than others. Based on these findings, we propose the Scopus Radar Readiness Model (SRRM). The model is based on the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and has four stages of growth. This roadmap gives editorial boards the tools they need to go from reactive compliance to proactive integrity assurance. They can do this by using internal bibliometric audits to find and fix problems before they lead to external algorithmic enforcement. The results show that journals need to use Level 4 Optimized integrity practices to stay alive in a time when automated gatekeeping is common.

Abstract

The majority of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims from Indonesia are women, but the management is dominated by men. Government regulations on managing the organization of pilgrimage limit the role of women in a very minimal portion. In some cases, the presence of female counselors was felt to be more effective in assisting female worshipers. The study of the women’ role in Hajj and Umrah management in Indonesia is still minimal. Therefore, this study focuses on the role of Nyai Halimatus Sya'diah as a guide of Hajj and Umrah in Sumenep Regency. The descriptive qualitative approaches are used to understand this phenomenon. Based on the data collected by interviews and documentation, it was concluded that the role of Nyai Halimatus Sya'diah as a guide of Hajj and Umrah can be divided into 4 roles: tour leader, leader of worship, travel facilitator, intermediary between worshipers and travel. Keyword : haji dan umrah; peran wanita; islam
