Abstract

Aphtose stomatitis is an inflammatory disease that often occurs in the oral cavity. Thrush can usually be in the form of single or group spots that are yellowish white in color with a concave surface. The purpose of this activity is to increase health knowledge in students of SD Negeri 2 Terong Tawah through education on the prevention and treatment of thrush and can change health behavior in children of SDN 2 Terong Tawah in a better direction. Knowledge improvement is done by socialization and pre test - post test system. The results of written evaluations in the form of pre tests and post tests obtained a value with an average of 64.58 ± 16.14 otherwise after being given material exposure, some students experienced an increase and the average post test value obtained was 85 ± 8.84. This activity can increase knowledge about health in students of SD Negeri 2 Terong Tawah through education on the prevention and treatment of thrush.

Abstract

Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammation of the skin’s pilosebaceous unit, caused by oxidative stress due to reactive oxygen species (ROS) release. Oxidative stress conditions can be treated using natural antioxidants, namely ashitaba (Angelica keiskei). In contrast to previous studies that tested column chromatography fraction of the macerated ethanol extract, this study examined the liquid-liquid partition fraction of 80% methanol sonicated extract of Ashitaba herb. This study aims to determine the antiradical activity of various fractions of Ashitaba herb extract against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhidrazyl (DPPH) free radicals. 80% methanol extract of the Ashitaba herb was fractionated using chloroform, ethyl acetate, and water solvents. Each ashitaba herb fraction was identified for the content of flavonoids and phenolic compounds and the antiradical DPPH activity was tested with ascorbic acid standard using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The IC50 value of each fraction was statistically analyzed using One-Way ANOVA and Posthoc Tukey. The results of phytochemical identification showed that ashitaba herb fractions positively contain flavonoids and phenolics. Antiradical activity of the chloroform, ethyl acetate, and water fractions against DPPH was indicated by IC50 values of 164.22±5.68 ppm (moderate); 8.70±0.12 ppm (very strong); and 243.60±8.14 ppm (weak). Statistically, each ashitaba herb fraction differed significantly from ascorbic acid (IC50 2.37±0.05 ppm). The ethyl acetate fraction has the strongest antioxidant activity and is in the same category of antioxidant strength as the ascorbic acid standard.

Abstract

Aphthous stomatitis is inflammation of the oral mucosa, which can cause pain and discomfort. Thrush can be caused by Candida albicans. So, this research aims to make a nanoemulsion spray gel preparation that can treat the Candida albicans fungus. The method was to formulate propolis nanoemulsion and gel base with variations of Carbopol, followed by physical properties testing such as organoleptic test, pH, viscosity, spreadability and adhesivity, particle size, and index polydispersity. Furthermore, the antifungal activity of the preparation was tested against Candida albicans. The results showed that formulation 2 had better antifungal activity where the diameter of the inhibitory force was 22,33±0,58(p?0,05). This research concludes that formula 2 nanoemulsion spray gel preparations showed the optimum preparation based on physical properties evaluation and showed the diameter inhibitory of 22,33±0,58 mm. Keywords:          nanoemulsion, spray, gel, propolis   Abstrak Sariawan atau Stomatitis aphtosa adalah inflamasi pada bagian mukosa mulut yang dapat menimbulkan rasa sakit dan tidak nyaman. Sariawan dapat disebabkan oleh Candida albicans. Sehingga tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu melakukan pembuatan sediaan nanoemulsi spray gel yang dapat mengatasi jamur Candida albicans. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan memformulasikan nanoemulsi propolis dan basis gel dengan variasi 3 variasi formula carbopol sebagai gelling agent. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji evaluasi fisik sediaan meliputi organoleptik, pH, daya sebar lekat, viskositas, ukuran partikel, dan indeks polidispersitas. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji aktivitas antijamur terhadap Candida albicans. Hasilnya didapatkan bahwa formula 2 merupakan formula paling optimum berdasarkan evaluasi fisik. Formula ini memiliki aktivitas antijamur dengan diameter daya hambat sebesar 22,33±0,58 (p?0,05. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu formula 2 sediaan nanoemulsi spray gel merupakan formula paling optimum berdasarkan evaluasi fisik serta memiliki aktivitas terhadap jamur Candida albicans dengan zona hambat sebesar 22,33±0,58 mm. Abstract

Ashitaba herb contains flavonoids, phenolics, tannins, alkaloids, and terpenoids, which are known to have antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, ashitaba has the potential to be developed into anti-acne preparations, one of which is cream. Creams have various advantages, namely the ability to deliver hydrophilic and hydrophobic compounds better, provide better moisture, and have emollient and occlusive properties by forming a protective layer on the skin and maintaining skin hydration longer. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of methanol extract cream preparations of ashitaba herb. The research method used was laboratory experimental. Ashitaba herb was extracted using the sonication method with 80% methanol solvent to produce a solid extract. The ashitaba herb's methanol extract was combined to create a cream preparation, and its physical characteristics such as homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesion, and cream type were assessed. The physical property testing revealed that the cream preparation had a unique scent, a thick consistency, and a green hue. This resulted in a homogenous oil-in-water (O/W) type cream preparation with a pH of 6.29, viscosity of 37.050 cp, spreadability of 5.23 cm, and adhesion of 4.59 seconds. Thus, it can be said that the production of the methanol extract of ashitaba herb cream satisfies the requirements and has good physical qualities.

Abstract

Pewarna sintetis seperti rhodamin B dan auramine O dalam produk pangan diketahui memiliki dampak negatif yang signifikan terhadap kesehatan manusia dan penggunaannya telah dilarang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi berbagai metode analisis, termasuk Kromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi (KCKT), Spektrofotometri UV-Vis, KCKT fase balik, High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), dan Adsorptif Voltammetri Pelepasan. Berdasarkan hasil review, semua metode tersebut telah memenuhi kriteria validasi yang meliputi akurasi, selektivitas, presisi, linearitas, LOD, dan LOQ, yang didukung oleh uji yang tidak bias. Hasil tersebut menekankan pentingnya penerapan metode analisis yang sesuai untuk mendeteksi kandungan pewarna berbahaya serta memastikan keamanan produk pangan yang beredar di pasaran.
