<![CDATA[This research is aimed to find out the students’ perception on English teaching effectiveness in the classroom activities. This research sought students' perceptions on teaching effectiveness in the classroom activities which prompt the utilization of mixed-method. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Kota Gorontalo. In conducting this research, the participants were the eighth-grade students in SMP Negeri 4 Gorontalo. The eighth-grade in SMP Negeri 4 Kota Gorontalo itself is divided into five classes in which every class contains 25-30 students. The number of participants were 40 students selected from five classes of the eighth-grade. The data was collected using questionnaire and analysed using scoring, analysing problems, and concluding/interpreting. The results showed that English teaching effectiveness in the classroom is good. It was judged from four indicators of effectiveness itself. Those were instructional delivery, student assessment, learning environment, and personal qualities. Based on the research, the four indicators of effectiveness were categorized well. It was proven by the fact that most of the students in the position of agree.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to find out the significant effect in using the PQRST Strategy on students' reading comprehension in procedure text at the ninth grade of SMPN 3 Kabila. The population of this research was all students of class IX SMPN 3 Kabila which only has one class with a number of students consisting of 24 students and the sample of this research was all students in class ninth totaling 24 students. The samples were determined using a saturated sampling technique. This research used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design one group pre-test and post-test. There are two variables in this research, the PQRST strategy as the independent variable and the students’ reading comprehension in procedure text as the dependent variable. Data collection techniques in this research used a test, namely multiple-choice tests. The results showed that the mean score of the pre-test was 11.75, and the mean score post-test was 19.38. In addition, the results of the hypothesis of this research found that tcount > ttable or 24.04 > 2.069 with the level of significance α = 0.05. It means that the hypothesis (H1) of this research is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PQRST strategy has a significant effect on students' reading comprehension in procedure texts at the ninth grade of SMPN 3 Kabila.]]>

<![CDATA[Pandemic Covid19 attacked the education site by giving a limitation in the learning process which is without direct instruction between student and teacher. It caused teacher and student used the learning activities that make it possible to carry out learning using internet access through online learning. In the fact there are so many obstacles faced by English’ teacher also student in online learning such as the bad internet connection and the lack of internet quota for student also the decreased of student’ attendance. Qualitative method aims to investigates to understand and explores a phenomenon carried out by teacher in online learning especially to aims the strategies used by teacher in online learning. The subjects were four EFL teacher who were teaching during pandemic. The theory about learning strategies was used in this study to analyze the data.Moreover this study employed an interview technique to obtain the supporting data about English teacher’s strategies in teaching English by online. The result shows that several strategies used by English teacher for instance by using Google classroom, Quiper and agreement and also several obstacles such as internet connection, internet quota and students atandance.]]>

<![CDATA[The aims of this research is to describe what are the students’ problems on the use of past participle V3. This research took place in SMK Negeri 1 Suwawa. This research used a qualitative method and took 15 students as the participants in this research. The data collected trhough interview as the main instrument and test as the supporting instrument.The results of this research students make a lot of mistakes in determining past participle and then, the need for educators to adopt effective teaching strategies that address the challenges faced by students when it comes to using past participle. Therefore, it can be concluded that students face challenges when it comes to the use of past participle. By addressing these issues, educators can help students improve their language skills and enhance their academic and professional success. The implementation of effective teaching strategies and resources can help students to gain a better understanding of past participle and develop the skills necessary to use it correctly in various contexts.]]>

<![CDATA[This research explores the impact of implementing the Jigsaw technique as a cooperative learning strategy on the reading comprehension skills of 10th-grade students studying English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at SMA Negeri 1 Botumoito. The study specifically focuses on students' understanding of report texts, including their ability to identify main ideas, details, vocabulary, references, and inferences. The Jigsaw technique was chosen due to its potential to enhance cooperative learning and engagement among students. The study involved a sample of 60 students over eight weeks. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments, and the results were analyzed using paired samples t-tests. The analysis indicated a statistically significant improvement in students' reading comprehension, with mean pretest scores of 45.55 rising to posttest scores of 74.00. The t-test results (t = 0.000, p < 0.05) confirmed the hypothesis that the Jigsaw technique positively influences reading comprehension skills. Despite some challenges, such as time constraints and dynamics between academically strong and weak students, the research interventions facilitated a positive learning environment and stimulated students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These findings suggest that the Jigsaw technique is an effective strategy for improving reading comprehension in EFL contexts. The study recommends further research to explore the long-term impacts and adaptations of the Jigsaw technique in diverse educational settings.]]>
