Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology and the internet has greatly facilitated human interaction and communication. However, along with its benefits, the rapid expansion of the internet has also brought about negative consequences such as cybersex, cyberbullying, and online radicalization. Therefore, it is imperative to promote the judicious use of social media to enhance awareness, particularly among school children, about the hazards of its misuse. The community service program at SMP Negeri 2 Mandalle is designed to enhance students' comprehension of utilizing social media appropriately and responsibly. Through this initiative, students receive comprehensive explanations and engage in discussions about both the advantages and risks associated with social media usage. The students at SMP Negeri 2 Mandalle demonstrate a deep understanding of the perils associated with social media usage. This is evident from the smooth execution of the community service activity, which aligns seamlessly with its intended objectives. The activities encompass a diverse range, including understanding the nature of social media, recognizing its adverse effects, determining appropriate usage times, and establishing age-appropriate boundaries for social media engagement.

Abstract

Sexual violence is an act involving sexual coercion or harassment against someone without their consent. Bullying is aggressive behavior that is carried out repeatedly by one individual or a group of individuals with the aim of hurting, degrading, or intimidating the victim. Sexual violence and bullying often occur in school environments. Children and adolescents are vulnerable to being victims or perpetrators of these acts. However, due to the taboo nature of this issue, many cases go unreported so existing statistics may not reflect the true numbers. Sexual violence and bullying in schools have serious impacts on victims, including psychological trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, decreased academic performance, and even a high risk of suicide. An unsafe school environment can also affect the entire student population, hindering their learning and social development. Some factors that contribute to sexual violence and bullying in schools include institutional indifference to reporting and action, lack of awareness and adequate education, power imbalances, detrimental social norms, and negative media influences. Preventing sexual violence and bullying in schools requires collaboration between students, teachers, parents, school staff, and the community. This shared responsibility is essential to protecting children and adolescents from physical and psychological harm. With proper education, social support, and proactive action, we can create safe, inclusive, and supportive school environments for all individuals.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of village public services as a responsibility of the village government to meet community administrative needs in a fast, clear, transparent, and accountable manner. The Bua Village Government in Tellulimpoe District, Sinjai Regency, has a strategic role in providing direct services to the community. However, it still faces several challenges, including limited facilities and infrastructure, unstable internet access, electricity disruptions, and unequal capacity among village officials in using information technology. This study aims to analyze the optimization of public services provided by the Bua Village Government in improving community services and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving the village head, village secretary, village officials, members of the Village Consultative Body, and community service users. Data analysis used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results show that public services in Bua Village have been implemented fairly well. Service effectiveness is reflected in the ability of village officials to complete services according to community needs. Service efficiency is shown through task distribution among officials and relatively fast service processes. Service productivity is reflected in the ability of officials to complete various administrative services despite limited resources. However, service delivery has not been fully optimized due to limited facilities, unstable internet access, electricity disruptions, and unequal digital skills among officials. This study concludes that service optimization should be strengthened through capacity building for village officials, improved service facilities, transparent service standards, and sustainable use of information technology.

Abstract

Digital transformation through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in governance is growing in Indonesia, triggering significant changes in the dynamics of power relations between the central and regional governments. While AI has the potential to improve the efficiency of public services and strengthen state capacity, disparities in digital capacity across regions pose significant challenges in its implementation. This study aims to analyze the impact of AI use on the configuration of authority and central-regional relations in Indonesia. The research methodology is a qualitative analysis using secondary data sources from national policy documents, local government reports, academic articles, and credible media, processed and analyzed using NVivo 12. Data were obtained from four major cities, including Jakarta, Bandung, Makassar, and Jayapura, representing varying levels of digital readiness and local challenges. The findings indicate that AI reinforces centralization and reconfigures power relations with a pattern of recentralization, through centrally controlled algorithmic standards and data interoperability. Variations in implementation indicate that local capacity and infrastructure are determinants of the success and influence of AI in local governance. This study makes a theoretical contribution by developing a framework for authority transformation in the context of digitalization in developing countries and offering empirical insights into the dynamics of central-regional relations in the AI era. In addition, this study recommends strategies for increasing institutional capacity and inclusive regulatory oversight to ensure sustainable and equitable AI implementation.
