Abstract

Directed to the few numbers of studies in online exchange programs on EFL students, this study purposely investigates about the remote learning between two institutions in Kampung Inggris Pare, Indonesia and a US university. The exploration of this distance learning highlights on the basic motivation of the virtual exchange program with the primary focuses on the learning impulsion between both stakeholders, the pursuit of the virtual exchange program, and the learning outcomes for EFL students affected by the virtual exchange program. Data were gained from the interview, documentation and observation for 6 weeks and were analyzed descriptively. The result of this study unpacks that the main encouragement of both institutions is (a) to construct an international-vibe class, (b) to enhance the EFL students’ cross-cultural understanding and (c) to broaden the intercultural knowledge. The program exertion utilized the SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observational Protocol) and this country-mile learning brought more implications for the institutions, teachers and EFL students, particularly in confidence of speaking and listening.

Abstract

This study examines how Open Government initiatives enhance the effectiveness of the Independent Farmer Card (KPM) Plus Program and their subsequent impacts on Food Security and Food Independence among rural communities. The research problem of this study is that some farmers lack an understanding of how to access support and follow application instructions for agricultural aid through the KPM Plus Program. The research analyzes the impact of transparency, participation, and collaboration within government frameworks on agricultural support. The findings highlight that Open Government initiatives significantly enhance the effectiveness of the KPM Plus Program, leading to better food security and independence for farmers. While SEM results confirm that strong governance positively influences agricultural programs, the model’s fit indices indicate a need for refinement to capture the underlying dynamics better. The study recommends strengthening Open Government practices to enhance program effectiveness and food security in rural areas. Future research should consider additional variables and refine the model for deeper insights into the relationship between governance and agriculture. This research contributes valuable perspectives on rural development, highlighting the importance of transparent and participative governance in advancing agricultural support and food sustainability.

Abstract

Fenomena yang diangkat dalam pengabdian masalah ini berangkat dari permasalahan mitra yaitu ketidakpahaman dalam proses pengurusan izin usaha secara digital melalui platform OSS, yang menghambat perluasan pasar dan akses pembiayaan formal. NIB (Nomor Induk Berusaha) merupakan identitas hukum penting bagi pelaku usaha untuk menjalankan kegiatan secara sah dan meningkatkan akses terhadap modal serta pasar. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan dalam proses perizinan Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB) pada Usaha Jamu Tiga Putra di Desa Mojorejo. Kegiatan pendampingan dilakukan melalui sosialisasi tentang pentingnya NIB, bimbingan teknis pengisian dokumen, hingga proses pendaftaran di sistem OSS. Hasil pendampingan menunjukkan bahwa pelaku usaha mampu memperoleh NIB secara lancar, meningkatkan literasi digital, dan memperluas jaringan pemasaran, termasuk akses terhadap program pembiayaan seperti KUR. Program ini mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal dengan memberdayakan UMKM serta melestarikan budaya jamu tradisional Indonesia. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini tidak hanya memperbaiki aspek legalitas usaha, tetapi juga meningkatkan kapasitas manajerial mitra secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Pola Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) merupakan salah satu upaya penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan masyarakat, yang tercantum dalam tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ke-3 tentang "Good Health and Well-Being". Pengabdian ini berfokus pada implementasi PHBS di Desa Mojoagung, yang dikenal dengan rendahnya proporsi rumah tangga yang menerapkan PHBS. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya PHBS melalui sosialisasi dan pendampingan. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan materi mengenai PHBS, kualitas kesehatan masyarakat, dan hubungan antara keduanya. Selain itu, diadakan juga diskusi interaktif dan mini games untuk meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kesadaran dan pemahaman warga, terutama siswa-siswi SDN Mojoagung Soko, tentang penerapan PHBS dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Meskipun demikian, tantangan tetap ada dalam penerapannya, seperti keterbatasan waktu dan konsistensi dalam pelaksanaan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengabdian masyarakat melalui sosialisasi PHBS dapat meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan masyarakat dan memberikan dampak positif jika dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dan melibatkan berbagai pihak, termasuk keluarga dan sektor lainnya.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Independent Farmer Card Program (Kartu Petani Mandiri/KPM) implemented by the Food Security and Agriculture Office of Bojonegoro Regency as a policy innovation to address structural problems in the agricultural sector. Farmers in the region still face obstacles such as limited access to capital, technology, and market information, which hinder productivity and welfare. The KPM program was introduced to facilitate access to farming inputs, capital assistance, training, and support services. However, various implementation challenges remain, including delayed distribution of aid, limited human resource capacity, and uneven program outreach. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation to assess program effectiveness based on five key indicators: program understanding, target accuracy, timeliness, goal achievement, and real change. The findings indicate that while the KPM program has been effective in improving agricultural productivity and providing direct benefits such as fertilizer access and scholarships for farmers' children, its impact is not yet evenly distributed due to socialization and administrative barriers. Strengthening coordination among stakeholders, improving data accuracy, and enhancing the capacity of implementing actors are crucial for the program’s sustainability and equity. This research provides practical insights into the implementation of targeted agricultural assistance in a decentralized governance context.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris di desa kecil sangat memprihatinkan, contohnya salah satu sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) berbasis pesantren di desa Jatirogo kabupaten Tuban masih kesulitan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris meskipun aplikasi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris sudah sangat banyak dan mudah diakses melalui handphone. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan salah satu aplikasi Bahasa Inggris yakni Duolingo dalam meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris siswa disana. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi di sebuah sekolah SMP berbasis pesantren yang ada di desa Jatirogo kabupaten Tuban. Jumlah yang ikut dalam sosialisasi adalah 90 orang. Hanya saja karena keterbatasan jumlah gadget (HP) yang bisa digunakan untuk praktik aplikasi Duolingo, maka peserta praktikum difokuskan pada kelas 7 saja yang berjumlah 26 orang. Adapun peserta lainnya tetap diberikan akses ke Duolingo diluar dari jadwal siswa kelas 7 sebagai tambahan pembelajaran namun tidak menjadi kelompok yang ditargetkan. Dalam sosialisasi ini dilakukan pretest saat sosialisasi dan posttetst dilakukan setelah satu minggu penggunaan aplikasi secara rutin untuk mengetahui keefektifan aplikasi Duolingo. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris sebesar 83% dari nilai rata-rata pretest 20-40 menjadi 45-65 saat posttest. Hal ini menunjukkan penggunaan aplikasi Duolingo berdampak positif bagi siswa.Abstract: English language skills in small villages are very worrying, for example, one of junior high schools with the Islamic boarding school-based in Jatirogo village, Tuban district, is still having difficulty in improving English language skills even though there are many English learning applications available and easily accessible via mobile phone. This service aims to introduce one of the English applications, namely Duolingo, in improving the English language skills of students there. The method used was socialization at an Islamic boarding school-based junior high school in Jatirogo village, Tuban district. The number who took part in the socialization was 90 people. However, due to the limited number of gadgets (mobile phones) that can be used to practice the Duolingo application, the practicum participants focused on class 7 with 26 people. Other participants were given the opportunity to access Duolingo outside the class 7 schedule as additional learning but not as targeted group. In this program, a pre-test was carried out during socialization and a post-test was carried out after one week of regular use of the application to determine the effectiveness of the Duolingo application. The results show an increase with 83% in English language skills from an average pre-test score of 20-40 to 45-65 at post-test. This shows that using the Duolingo application has a positive impact on students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the Strategy of the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child and Family Protection in Bullying Prevention in Bojonegoro Regency. This research was conducted using qualitative methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through literature studies and field studies, including observation, interviews, documentation studies, and triangulation. Determination of samples/informants in this study was conducted using purposive sampling of 5 people. While the data analysis procedure uses the Milles and Huberman data model. The final results of this study concluded that this program has good targets and positive output, but the implementation of socialization has not been optimal due to the lack of government commitment. Although there has been progress in handling bullying cases, obstacles such as slow resolution of cases and low community involvement still occur. It is recommended to expand the reach of socialization, strengthen the reporting system, improve the competence of professional staff, and develop HR capacity at DP3AKB Bojonegoro Regency.While the data analysis procedure uses the Milles and Huberman data model. Abstract

Studies on the interplay of teacher identity and classroom participation have contributed significant findings in transnational settings. However, in-depth research on identity construction and classroom participation of Indonesian EFL teachers serving as Indonesian language teaching assistants in U.S. universities remains scant. This study aims to explore the identity construction of Indonesian EFL teachers as they enact their roles as Indonesian language teaching assistants in U.S. universities. The study employed a narrative inquiry, collecting data through semi-structured interviews. Three EFL teachers serving as Indonesian language teaching assistants with Fulbright scholarships for Foreign Language Teaching Assistants (FLTA) participated in this study. Findings reveal that participants were actively engaged in all phases of instruction, including pre-teaching preparation, classroom interaction, and post-teaching reflection. Their collaboration with American supervisors and use of various digital tools demonstrates professional adaptability and commitment to effective language teaching. Additionally, participants constructed and negotiated their identities through daily interactions with students, colleagues, and members of the local community. Language use, cultural participation, and religious/national identity served as key dimensions in this identity construction. While participants maintained their Indonesian and Muslim values, they also embraced certain American cultural norms, illustrating the dynamic interplay between cultural adaptation and identity preservation.
