Abstract

The community service activity titled "The Use of Organic Waste Bins to Address Waste in RT 03 RW 17, Cibiru Wetan Village, Cileunyi, Bandung" was carried out as an effort to tackle the issue of organic waste in the area. Poorly managed organic waste has the potential to pollute the environment and disrupt public health. This program aims to raise awareness, knowledge, and the ability of the community to manage organic waste into beneficial compost. The implementation stages include planning, providing facilities in the form of organic waste bins, education, compost-making training, and evaluation. A total of 2 units of organic waste bins have been distributed in strategic locations. The socialization successfully reached representatives of the residents, and the compost-making training involved 30 participants who showed positive results and were able to produce simple compost. The results of the activity indicate an increase in awareness and changes in community behavior regarding waste management. Residents have started to separate organic waste in their homes and utilize compost for small-scale agricultural activities. This program has also successfully reduced the volume of waste sent to landfills. The sustainability of the program requires the formation of community working groups to monitor implementation in the field, provide ongoing education, and collaborate with relevant parties. This program is expected to serve as a model for community-based waste management that can be replicated in other areas. With this activity, the community of Cibiru Wetan Village is expected to create a cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally friendly environment

Abstract

Fokus pada kesehatan dan pencegahan penyakit telah mendorong pengembangan produk berbahan dasar alami dengan aktivitas antioksidan. Kulit buah melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) mengandung senyawa antioksidan seperti alkaloid, flavonoid, dan saponin, tetapi pemanfaatannya masih minim. Mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi formulasi granul effervescent ekstrak kulit melinjo, serta mengukur aktivitas antioksidannya. Penelitian eksperimental ini menggunakan metode granulasi basah. Tahapan penelitian meliputi skrining fitokimia, formulasi, evaluasi sifat fisik granul, dan uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH. Evaluasi mencakup parameter seperti organoleptik, waktu larut, kadar air, laju alir, sudut istirahat, kompresibilitas, pH, tinggi buih, dan volume sedimentasi. Skrining fitokimia menunjukkan adanya alkaloid, flavonoid, dan saponin pada ekstrak kulit melinjo. Semua formula granul memiliki sifat fisik yang memenuhi standar dengan laju alir 4-10 gram/detik), sudut istirahat (20°<α<40°), indeks kompresibilitas (<20%), serta dengan waktu larut rata-rata kurang dari 5 menit dan stabilitas suspensi yang baik dengan pH 5-7. Nilai IC50 menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan dengan rentang 35,324–40,321 µg/mL, termasuk kategori sangat kuat. Granul effervescent berbasis ekstrak kulit melinjo memiliki potensi sebagai minuman kesehatan dengan aktivitas antioksidan yang baik. Ditunjukkan oleh sifat fisik yang sesuai dan aktivitas antioksidan yang kuat dan F2 memiliki aktivitas antioksidan IC50 paling tinggi sebesar 40,321 ± 0,324 µg/mL dan termasuk kategori sangat kuat.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Mikroenkapsulasi merupakan teknik pelapisan zat aktif menggunakan agen penyalut, umumnya senyawa polimer, yang berfungsi menjaga stabilitas dan mengontrol pelepasan zat aktif. Bahan penyalut memegang peranan penting karena memengaruhi ukuran dan kestabilan mikrokapsul. Mikroenkapsulasi banyak diterapkan pada bahan alam untuk meningkatkan stabilitas dan memperpanjang umur simpan zat aktif. Metode pembuatan mikroenkapsulasi terbagi menjadi proses kimia, fisika-kimia, dan fisika. Metode: Tinjauan pustaka dilakukan melalui pencarian jurnal di database elektronik seperti Google Scholar, menggunakan kata kunci: “Bahan Alam”, “Mikroenkapsulasi”, dan “Sediaan Padat”. Kriteria inklusi meliputi artikel hasil uji klinis, tinjauan literatur, dan tinjauan sistematis dari jurnal nasional maupun internasional ber-ISSN. Artikel non-relevan, laporan kasus, dan opini ahli dikecualikan. Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan bahwa metode spray drying paling banyak digunakan karena efektif dalam menjaga stabilitas bahan alam dan menghasilkan mikrokapsul berukuran seragam. Kesimpulan: Spray drying menjadi metode mikroenkapsulasi yang dominan untuk bahan alam karena kemudahan, efisiensi, dan kemampuannya dalam meningkatkan kestabilan zat aktif dalam sediaan padat.

Abstract

Introduction: Introduction: This study aims to examine natural materials that can be formulated into coated solid preparations in the pharmaceutical world. Coated solid preparations have various benefits, including increasing the stability of active substances, protecting materials from the external environment such as light, heat, oxygen, and covering unpleasant tastes. Methods: This study was conducted through a literature search using the Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and ResearchGate databases, with inclusion criteria in the form of research journals on natural materials made into coated solid preparations. Results: The study shows that natural materials such as plant extracts, probiotics, aromatic resins, fish oil, and oleoresins can be formulated into several forms of coated solid preparations, including film-coated tablets, film-coated tablets, encapsulates, microcapsules, and microparticles (pellets). Commonly used coating materials include HPMC (Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose), PVA (Polyvinyl alcohol), opadry AMB, maltodextrin, and kollicoat protect. Some examples of natural ingredients that have been applied are pomegranate peel extract as an antimalarial, gambir leaf extract as an antidyslipidemia, and probiotics from fermented snake fruit. Conclusion: the formulation of solid preparations coated with natural ingredients provides significant benefits in increasing the effectiveness and stability of pharmaceutical preparations, while utilizing natural ingredients that have biological activity. This study is expected to be a reference in the development of pharmaceutical preparations based on natural ingredients.

Abstract

Nowadays there are many pharmaceutical preparations, one of which is tablet preparation. Tablets are solid preparations containing medicinal ingredients with or without fillers. Modified preparation means that the pharmaceutical formulation has been changed from the standard or original formulation. Modification can be done for several purposes, such as increasing solubility, increasing bioavailability, regulating drug release, increasing stability, or improving other formulation properties. The purpose of this paper is to provide a perspective on the methods used to improve drug solubility, dissolution rate, and stability of active substances. The writing of this review article uses the research journal literature study method. The primary sources used have been published online through Google scholar by entering the keywords modified active substance, solid dispersion, tablet making methods that increase solubility, tablet dissolution. In this review, it was found that there are techniques that can be done such as co-amorphous, co-crystalline, nanoemulsifying, micronization, precipitation, melting, addition of crushing agents and factorial methods of adding binders to be the choice of scientists in developing pharmaceutical preparations with active ingredients that have poor BCS values.
