Abstract

The transformation of the Islamic worldview in Islamic thought in the Western world reflects the dynamic interaction between Islamic traditions and the context of modernity and secularization. This study aims to analyze how the Islamic worldview undergoes transformation within the thoughts of Muslim intellectuals in the Western world. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, this research identifies a paradigm shift from traditional understanding toward the integration of Islamic values into modern discourse. The findings reveal that this transformation involves not only value adaptation but also the recontextualization of Islamic principles to address philosophical, social, and epistemological challenges in the Western world. This transformation opens opportunities for a more harmonious synthesis between Islamic values and the Western context without losing its identity.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping human thought and behavior, as well as determining the future of civilization. The Merdeka Curriculum emerges as an educational policy that grants freedom to schools, teachers, and students to innovate and learn independently. This study aims to analyze the relevance of the Merdeka Curriculum to Ki Hajar Dewantara's educational concept from a philosophical-pedagogical perspective. Through a literature review employing a hermeneutic-philosophical approach, it was found that the Merdeka Curriculum aligns with Ki Hajar Dewantara's views, emphasizing education as an effort to nurture students' natural potential. The concept of "learning is guiding" resonates with the principle of student autonomy, where students are active and independent, while teachers act as guides, facilitators, and motivators. This study concludes that the Merdeka Curriculum is relevant to Ki Hajar Dewantara's educational concept, prioritizing individual uniqueness and the independent development of potential under the supervision of teachers and parents.

Abstract

Mawdu' hadith (false hadith) poses a significant threat to the authenticity of Islamic teachings, potentially leading the Muslim community astray. This study aims to identify the characteristics of mawdu' hadith, analyze the dangers of its spread, and provide recommendations to safeguard the authenticity of the Prophet Muhammad SAW’s hadith. The research employs a literature review method, examining both classical and contemporary texts on hadith sciences, as well as authoritative sources in the field of Qur'anic and hadith studies. The study finds that mawdu' hadith can distort the understanding of Islam, influence worship practices, and cause division within the community. Therefore, systematic efforts are needed to educate the public on the importance of hadith verification and enhance the understanding of hadith sciences. This research contributes to a better understanding of the crucial role of authentic hadith in preserving the purity of Islamic teachings and preventing the spread of teachings that deviate from the Prophet's guidance.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the various administrative burdens faced by Islamic Religious Education teachers and the strategic efforts taken to maintain the effectiveness of the learning process. This study employed a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study method, with five Islamic Religious Education teachers at the elementary school level in Karangpandan District as the research subjects. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation reviews over a period of three months. Data were then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research is conceptually grounded in the theories of teacher professionalism and workload management, which provide a framework for understanding how teachers adapt to administrative pressures while maintaining instructional quality. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers experience a variety of administrative pressures, including developing teaching materials, completing various administrative systems and performance reports, managing school documents, and carrying out additional administrative tasks. This burden has the potential to divert teachers' attention away from developing creative and innovative learning. Nevertheless, Islamic Religious Education teachers implement adaptive strategies such as efficient time management, utilizing digital technology, collaborating with colleagues, and simplifying administrative activities in accordance with school policies. These adaptive strategies help teachers maintain the quality of their teaching while fulfilling their primary function as educators and character builders of students.

Abstract

Islamic education in the global era faces major challenges due to the influence of globalization, the development of digital technology, and rapid sociocultural change, which together create a gap between the ideal of Islamic education as a builder of noble character and the reality of modern education that tends to be secular and materialistic. This study aimed to analyze the key issues confronting Islamic education in the global era and to formulate strengthening strategies to ensure its continued relevance and competitiveness. A qualitative approach was employed using a library research method through the review of books, scholarly journals, and policy documents addressing Islamic education and the challenges of globalization; data were collected using documentation techniques and analyzed through content analysis to identify core relevant themes. The findings indicate that Islamic education faces various critical issues, such as an identity crisis, the dichotomy between religious and general sciences, disparities in educational access, and the threat of radicalism, while at the same time holding strategic opportunities through knowledge integration, the use of digital technology, curriculum reform, and the strengthening of religious moderation. The study concludes that Islamic education needs to develop a new paradigm that is integrative, adaptive, and character-based in order to produce a generation that is faithful, knowledgeable, and globally competitive without losing its spiritual values, with theoretical implications for the development of contemporary Islamic education discourse and practical implications for policymakers and Islamic education providers in designing programs that are responsive to global dynamics.

Abstract

Validity is a fundamental aspect of the measurement process because it determines the extent to which an instrument truly measures the construct it is intended to measure. This paper aims to discuss the concept of measurement validity comprehensively, including its definition, the distinction between validity and reliability, and various types of validity, namely content validity, construct validity, criterion-related validity, and face validity. Through a theoretical review and conceptual analysis of various literature sources, the paper also examines factors that affect validity, originating from the characteristics of the instrument, the respondents, the researcher, and environmental conditions. The discussion is further enriched with an explanation of commonly used validity testing methods, including correlation analysis, factor analysis, and expert judgment. This review emphasizes that validity is not only a technical aspect but also an ethical one in research, as it directly influences data quality, the accuracy of decision-making, and the integrity of research. In the digital era, challenges to instrument validity are becoming increasingly complex, thereby requiring continuous strategies for designing, evaluating, and refining the validity of measurement instruments across diverse research and educational evaluation contexts.
