Abstract

Mathematics learning often faces challenges in helping students understand abstract concepts, which can result in low student motivation and interest. This article discusses the application of graph algorithms, especially Dijkstra's algorithm, in the context of collaborative learning to improve the effectiveness of interactions between students. Through a systematic approach, this study collects and analyzes relevant literature, including journal articles, conference proceedings, and other sources that discuss graph theory and its applications in education. The results of the study indicate that the integration of graph algorithms in collaborative learning methods can improve student engagement and understanding. This study also highlights the importance of technology in supporting the learning process, and provides a comprehensive picture of the effectiveness of Dijkstra's algorithm in optimizing mathematics learning. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of more innovative and effective teaching strategies in mathematics education.

Abstract

This study examines the use of learning media such as probability boards, dice, and interactive multimedia with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach at SMA Negeri 12 Medan. The primary goal is to enhance students' understanding of probability concepts, which are often considered abstract and challenging. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method, with data collected through observations, interviews, student satisfaction surveys, and tests using Student Worksheet (LKPD). The findings indicate that the use of these media significantly improves students' understanding, with 85.71% of students achieving high to very high levels of comprehension. Moreover, most students stated that this method made it easier for them to grasp the material in a clearer, more relevant, and applicable manner. Thus, the application of RME-based learning media has proven effective in enhancing student engagement and understanding of probability concepts.

Abstract

Perkembangan globalisasi dan kemajuan teknologi memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap perilaku generasi muda, termasuk menurunnya nilai-nilai karakter bangsa seperti kejujuran dan tanggung jawab. Dalam konteks pendidikan, pembelajaran matematika tidak hanya berfokus pada penguasaan aspek kognitif, tetapi juga memiliki potensi besar dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan nilai kejujuran dan tanggung jawab dalam pembelajaran matematika yang mempengaruhi pengembangannya pada siswa SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kuis. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif, melibatkan guru dan siswa sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, angket, tes kemampuan, dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan menggunakan triangulasi untuk menjamin keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa telah memahami pentingnya nilai kejujuran dan tanggung jawab dalam pembelajaran telah memahami pentingnya nilai kejujuran dan tanggung jawab namun penerapannya masih memerlukan pembiasaan dan bimbingan dari guru. Guru berperan penting dalam menumbuhkan karakter tersebut melalui keteladanan, pembiasaan positif, serta pemberian konsekuensi yang mendidik. Dengan demikian, integrasi pengembangan karakter melalui pembelajaran matematika mampu menciptakan siswa yang tidak hanya unggul secara akademis, tetapi juga memiliki integritas, tanggung jawab, serat moral yang kuat dalam menjalani tantangan hidup.
