Abstract

This paper highlights the Indonesian's road transportation contexts, namely, angkot, that used in learning and teaching of addition and subtraction in first grade and second grade MIN-2 Palembang. PMRI approach that adopt from RME was used in this design research. From teaching experiment was founded that the student used many strategies when teaching and learning process conducted. In situational level they used their knowledge of experience-base activity, in referential level they use manik-manik (string of beads), and in general level they used number line to solve the problem. From the research was known that the Indonesian's road transportation context helps student to understand basic concept of addition and subtraction. The suggestion to further research this context can be used in design research of multiplication.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) improve the creative thinking skills of prospective teachers, (2) measure the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed electronic book. This type of research is research and development (RD) by applying the ADDIE model. This research was conducted through 5 stages: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The subjects of this study were students (prospective teachers) in the 5th-semester consisting of 55 people in the IT-based learning media course. At the same time, the object of this research was an electronic book developed based on TPACK. Several instruments were used: observation sheets, questionnaires, validation sheets, and essay tests. The results of data analysis indicate that the electronic book has met the requirements of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. In addition, there was a significant increase in the ability to think creatively.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the context of public transportation in Indonesia (i.e. angkot), can be used to build students' reasoning and understanding the basic concepts of addition and subtraction of numbers to elementary students. As a result, design research was selected as an appropriate method to achieve the objectives of this study. In the approach to the research design, the sequence of learning activities are designed and developed based on the investigation of student learning process. 28 students and a teacher in grade 2 elementary schools in Indonesia (i.e. MIN-2 Palembang) involved in this study. The experimental results show that get on and get off of passengers in drama of public transportation, playing angkot-angkotan, can stimulate students to get ideas on number operations. Furthermore, the strategies and tools used by the students in the playing angkot-angkotan can be developed gradually, through modeling appears, the operation of addition and subtraction of integers. In activity-based learning experience for addition and subtraction operations numbers, modeling appears plays an important role in students' reasoning shifts from concrete experience in situational levels to the formal of mathematical concepts

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana konteks transportasi umum di Indonesia (yaitu angkot) , dapat digunakan untuk membangun penalaran siswa dan memahami konsep dasar penjumlahan dan pengurangan angka untuk siswa SD . Akibatnya , penelitian desain terpilih sebagai metode yang tepat untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian ini . Dalam pendekatan desain penelitian , urutan kegiatan pembelajaran yang dirancang dan dikembangkan berdasarkan penyelidikan proses belajar siswa . 28 siswa dan seorang guru di kelas 2 sekolah dasar di Indonesia (yaitu MIN - 2 Palembang) yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini . Eksperimental Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mendapatkan dan turun penumpang di drama angkutan umum , bermain angkot - angkotan , dapat merangsang siswa untuk mendapatkan ide-ide tentang operasi bilangan . Selain itu , strategi dan alat yang digunakan oleh para siswa dalam bermain angkot - angkotan dapat dikembangkan secara bertahap , melalui pemodelan muncul, operasi penambahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat. Dalam pengalaman belajar berbasis aktivitas untuk nomor penjumlahan dan pengurangan operasi, pemodelan muncul memainkan peran penting dalam penalaran pergeseran dari pengalaman konkret dalam tingkat situasional siswa terhadap konsep-konsep matematika formal .

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of mathematical problem-solving skills after applying the realistik mathematics learning assisted by digital media of class VIII students of SMP Dharma Patra Sei Lepan for the 2022/2023 academic year. The subjects in this study were 32 class VIII-A students of Dharma Patra Private Middle School. Data collection techniques used were teacher observation sheets, tests of mathematical problem-solving skills, and documentation. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) which consists of 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 2 meetings. Before taking action, first given the initial test and at the end of each cycle is given a test of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The test results of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities increased from the initial test, cycle I, and cycle II. In the classical pre-test, 3 students (9.38%) passed and the average pre-test ability was 49.12% with a very low level of ability. In the first cycle test, there was an increase classically, 17 students (53.13%) completed and the average ability test obtained 69.01% with the ability level in the medium category. Then the second cycle test also experienced an increase in classically obtained 28 students (87.5%) completed and an average ability obtained 81.05% with a high level of ability category. Thus it can be concluded that the application of realistik mathematics learning assisted by digital media can improve the mathematical problem-solving skills of class VIII students of SMP Dharma Patra Sei Lepan.

Abstract

Belum terdapat buku praktikum yang memenuhi standar kualitas tinggi (valid, praktis dan efektif) yang dapat digunakan sebagai panduan belajar untuk mengembangkan media IT. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan satu buku praktikum media IT yang terintegrasi dengan prinsip-prinsip pembelajaran Team-Based Project yang memenuhi standar. Untuk menghasilkan produk yang diinginkan, maka dilakukan penelitian R&D dengan model 4D yang terdiri dari empat fase: pendefinisian, desain, pengembangan dan penyebarluasan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa calon guru pada matakuliah media pembelajaran berbasis IT yang terdiri dari 63 orang (kelas A dan B). Untuk memperoleh data yang diperlukan, maka digunakan beberapa instrumen: lembar observasi, lembar validasi, lembar kepraktisan, dan lembar keefektifan berupa essay test dan lembar respon mahasiswa, kemudian data dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, buku tersebut memenuhi 3 standar kualitas yang ditentukan, dan terbukti adanya peningkatan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menghasilkan produk media IT yang relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa sebagai yang termasuk pada warga digital. There are no practicum books that are valid, practical, and of good quality that can be utilized as study aids for creating IT media. This study aims to create an IT media practicum book that is integrated with team-based project principles that meet quality standards. R&D research is conducted using a 4D model, which consists of four processes, to produce the desired product: (1) define, (2) design, (3) develop and (4) disseminate. The subjects of this research are students who are prospective mathematics teachers and are taking IT-based learning media courses consisting of 63 people (classes A and B). The research data was obtained through several instruments: (1) observation sheets, (2) validation sheets, (3) practicality sheets, and (4) effectiveness sheets in the form of essay tests and student response sheets, then the data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the research findings, the book has met the three specified quality standards, and it is proven that there is an increase in students' ability to understand development concepts and create IT media that are relevant to the needs of native digital learners.

Abstract

The study aims to improve problem-solving skills with a realistic mathematical approach in the students of the 8th grade of the State High School. This study is a Class Action Research (PTK) that consists of 2 cycles, with each cycle consisting of 2 meetings. The subjects in this study were 32 students of class VIII-3 SMP Negeri 2 Medan. At the classical initial test 1 (3.7%) students are rigorous and the average student initial test in the category is very low. On cycle I experienced an improvement of the classically acquired 23 (71%) students of a rigorous and a student test average of 65.98 with a level of proficiency in the medium category. In the II cycle experienced improvements classically acquired 28 (87,5%) students were rigorous and a student test average of 77.99 with a level of ability in the middle category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of realistic mathematical approaches can improve students' ability to solve math problems.

Abstract

Matematika sering dianggap sebagai salah satu pelajaran yang sukar untuk dipahami. Banyak siswa yang tidak menyukai bahkan takut dengan soal-soal matematika. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil belajar siswa yang dinilai kurang memuaskan. Umumnya, dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal matematika siswa hanya menghapal rumus tanpa memahami konsep. Model pembelajaran yang terkesan monoton sehingga siswa kurang antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui keefektifan penerapan teori belajar Van Hiele berbantuan video animasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) siswa pada materi dimensi tiga. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Subjek pada penelitian kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah sebanyak 15 siswa yang dipilih secara acak. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Keefektifan penerapan teori belajar Van Hiele berbantuan video animasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) siswa SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah pada materi dimensi tiga berada pada kategori sedang. Hal ini berdasarkan hasil perhitungan rata-rata nilai N-Gain sebagai perhitungan statistik untuk melihat keefektifan penerapan teori belajar Van Hiele berbantuan video animasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan HOTS siswa, yang diperoleh sebesar 0,696 atau 69,6%.

Abstract

Geometry, which is a branch of mathematics related to visualization often makes students less motivated. Thus, the ability to think mathematically, which is suitable with Van Hiele's geometric thinking ability, need to be promoted in any interactive mathematics learning. Thus, this research is aimed at examining how students' high order thinking skills through the application of Van Hiele's theory with the help of animated videos.  Van Hiele's geometric thinking stages consist of visualization, analysis, abstraction, deduction, and rigor. To apply it, researchers used the Thiagarajan learning model known as the Four-D Model. Participants involved in this study were eleventh grade students of an Islamic secondary school in Sumatra, Indonesia. The instruments used were learning tests and student worksheets. Results indicates that Van Hiele's theory aided by video animation helps students improve students thinking skills and students experience regarding their ability to solve geometric higher-order thinking skill problems.Keywords: HOTS, Van Hiele, Geometry, Video Animation
