Abstract

Freight rail is one mode of transportation that has a large carrying capacity, making it an ideal choice for transporting massive amounts of goods. However, based on data from the FGD: Portrait of Freight Transportation in Indonesia presented by Djoko Setijowarno on March 15, 2023 at Alila Hotel - Solo, the use of freight trains in Indonesia is still very low, which is only 47.6 million tons/year or 0.26% of the total national freight transportation. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review method to analyze the potential and challenges of freight trains. The results show that freight trains have great potential to become the main choice for businesses in distributing their products economically and on time. In addition, the use of freight trains can also provide benefits to the government, including reducing air pollution, road damage due to ODOL (Over Dimension Over Loading) trucks, waste of subsidized fuel oil (BBM), and the high number of road accidents. Therefore, a joint effort is needed from the government, business actors, and the community to increase the use of freight trains as an efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly mode of transportation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study in general is to find out whether there is a causal relationship or influence on online learning on students' learning motivation in the Automotive Body Design and Formation Technology course. The method used is quantitative method, this method only to find out the results of the research is numeric then inferred using annotations. The population in this study were students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, automotive concentration, class of 2018 who had taken online lectures on automotive body technology design and formation, so a sample of 30 people was obtained. The research instrument based on the variable is online learning as the independent variable and motivational variables as its dependent variable. This study uses a simple linear regression testing to see t counted to determine whether there is a causal link or influence in a linear manner. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive effect between online learning on student learning motivation, with an influence value of 43.1% in large category.

Abstract

Pemborosan (waste) dalam proses operasional kedai kopi dapat menurunkan efisiensi kerja, meningkatkan biaya, dan memengaruhi kepuasan pelanggan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk pemborosan berdasarkan konsep seven waste dan menganalisis penerapan metode 5S sebagai upaya perbaikan di Kedai XYZ. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi langsung, wawancara dengan barista, analisis seven waste, serta klasifikasi aktivitas menjadi Value Added Activity (VAA), Non Value Added Activity (NVA), dan Necessary Non Value Added Activity (NNVA). Hasil penelitian menemukan lima jenis pemborosan utama, yaitu waiting, overproduction, defects, unnecessary motion, dan over-processing, sedangkan transportation dan inventory tidak ditemukan. Penerapan 5S, seperti penataan ulang area kerja dan standarisasi prosedur, terbukti menurunkan rata-rata waktu pembuatan satu cangkir kopi dari 120 detik menjadi 102 detik (penurunan sebesar 15%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa metode 5S efektif membantu meminimalkan pemborosan, memperpendek lead time, dan meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan, sehingga dapat menjadi acuan praktis bagi UMKM kedai kopi dalam meningkatkan daya saing.

Abstract

The automotive and motorcycle industries' transformation through Industry 4.0 technologies demands workforce competencies integrating technical expertise with sophisticated soft skills, yet significant gaps persist between industry requirements and graduate competencies. This systematic literature review provides evidence-based guidance for soft skills integration in automotive-motorcycle vocational education by identifying development models, evaluating comparative effectiveness, and exploring industry-academic collaboration roles. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, comprehensive search across Scopus database covering 2020-2025 employed rigorous inclusion criteria focusing on empirical studies. The search strategy yielded 394 articles, with 42 high-quality studies selected for analysis. Data extraction used standardized forms with inter-rater reliability (κ = 0.87), while analysis integrated bibliometric analysis, systematic thematic analysis, and quantitative content analysis. Results reveal curriculum integration models demonstrate superior effectiveness compared to modular approaches across all competency domains, with advantages in communication skills (24 percentage points) and teamwork competencies (21 percentage points). Industry-academia collaboration emerges as fundamental catalyst, though implementation gaps exist between current practice (47% structured internships) and industry recommendations (85% target). The evidence-based framework provides immediate guidance for curriculum design, instructor preparation, and partnership development.

Abstract

Proyek layanan masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesiapan publik terhadap integrasi Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dalam pendidikan dengan mempromosikan literasi AI dasar di kalangan pendidik dan siswa. Program ini secara khusus berfokus pada upaya mengungkap misteri teknologi AI dan menumbuhkan kesadaran kritis tentang implikasi etis, pedagogis, dan praktisnya dalam lingkungan belajar. Metode ini melibatkan serangkaian lokakarya interaktif dan sesi pelatihan langsung yang ditujukan kepada guru, calon guru, dan siswa sekolah menengah atas. Kegiatan ini dirancang untuk memperkenalkan konsep AI mendasar, mengeksplorasi aplikasi dunia nyata, dan memberikan pengalaman terbimbing dalam menggunakan alat berbasis AI yang mudah diakses untuk tujuan pendidikan. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kesadaran dan pemahaman peserta tentang AI, sebagaimana tecermin dalam survei pra dan pascaprogram. Pendidik melaporkan kepercayaan diri yang lebih besar dalam membahas topik AI di kelas dan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan dalam mengintegrasikan alat berbasis AI ke dalam praktik mengajar. Siswa menunjukkan peningkatan rasa ingin tahu dan pemikiran kritis tentang peran AI dalam masyarakat dan pendidikan. Sebagai kesimpulan, program ini berhasil mencapai tujuannya dengan membekali peserta dengan pengetahuan dasar dan keterampilan praktis yang terkait dengan AI sehingga mempersempit kesenjangan literasi digital di komunitas sasaran. Dampak dari inisiatif ini meluas melampaui peserta langsung karena mendorong efek berantai pemberdayaan teknologi dalam lembaga pendidikan. Hal ini juga berkontribusi pada agenda nasional untuk membina warga negara yang siap menghadapi masa depan yang mampu menavigasi dan membentuk lanskap digital yang terus berkembang dengan perspektif yang etis dan terinformasi.

Abstract

The effectiveness and clarity of food logistics management, especially at BULOG Bandung, present notable challenges that call for the integration of blockchain technology. This research assesses the readiness of BULOG Bandung's workforce for the adoption of blockchain by utilizing the Technology Readiness Index (TRI) 2.0 framework. A quantitative research methodology was applied, which involved structured surveys and statistical analysis using Pearson correlation to evaluate employees' readiness. The results reveal a moderate level of technological readiness with an overall TRI score of 3.12. The dimensions of Optimism (3.42) and Innovativeness (3.25) suggest that employees possess a favorable view of technology, while Discomfort (2.92) and Insecurity (3.27) indicate apprehensions related to digital transformation. Analysis using Pearson correlation demonstrated a significant association between TRI dimensions and the willingness to adopt blockchain (r = 0.38, p < 0.05). These findings underscore the necessity for focused training initiatives, pilot blockchain projects, and technical assistance to boost employee confidence. Future investigations should examine the long-term behavioral adjustments and organizational elements that affect blockchain adoption in the logistics sector.

Abstract

As daily needs and fuel prices continue to rise and non-renewable natural resources diminish, alternatives are needed to replace these energy sources with renewable energy. Data from the National Energy Council shows that in Indonesia, only 16.358 household biogas digester units have been installed, or about 1.6% of the total potential that can be utilized. This research aims to compare the performance of biogas from human feces with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel for water pump engines. The method used is experimental, involving the modification of the carburetor on the water pump engine, followed by direct measurement and analysis of the water pump results using variations of biogas and LPG fuels. A literature review indicates that biogas has great potential as a renewable energy source, but its utilization in Indonesia remains very limited. In this study, the test variables include variations in pump speed at 3800, 5300, and 6600 rpm. The test results show that the mass flow rate of biogas compared to LPG yields the highest discharge at 6600 rpm (0.118: 0.150 m³/s). For both biogas and LPG fuels, the maximum shaft power of the water pump engine reaches 3.9 kW at 6600 rpm. The maximum waterpower generated by the water pump engine using biogas and LPG is 1.26 kW and 1.6 kW at 6600 rpm, respectively, while the maximum efficiency reaches 32% with biogas and 41% with LPG. Therefore, the higher the water pump engine speed, the higher the values of shaft power, engine power, discharge, and efficiency. The efficiency ratio comparison between biogas and LPG at 6600 rpm is 3:4.

Abstract

Along with the development of the increasingly competitive coffee industry, coffee shops must have a business strategy in managing good coffee supplies to increase competitiveness. Time series forecasting is one of the ways that Koromi Sip & Slurp can use because it serves as a basis for company decision making to develop business strategies. This study aims to determine the best time series forecasting method that can be used as a basis for determining business strategies in managing coffee supplies. The data used is weekly sales data of three types of coffee beans from August 2024 to February 2025. The time series forecasting methods used are Single Moving Average (SMA), Weighted Moving Average (WMA), and Single Exponential Smoothing (SES). Evaluation of the method is carried out based on the forecast error value using the MFE, MAD, MSE, and MAPE methods. The results of the analysis show that the SES method provides the smallest error rate for all types of coffee so it was chosen as the best method. Validation using the Moving Range Chart shows that the forecasting results are within the statistical control limits. Forecasting for the 31st period resulted in a total demand for Sweet Coffee 322 cups, Non-Sweet Coffee 72 cups, and Manual Brew 8 cups. The resulting forecasting is expected to be used as a basis for strategic decision making, one of which is the management of coffee inventory at Koromi Sip & Slurp

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis efisiensi energi dan produktivitas unit angkut CAT 789C di PT B, Kalimantan Timur, sebagai respons terhadap tantangan konsumsi bahan bakar yang tinggi yang berdampak pada biaya perusahaan dan emisi karbon1. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui lima tahapan utama: persiapan, pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, analisis data, dan penyusunan laporan akhir. Data primer diperoleh melalui observasi lapangan untuk mengukur cycle time dan jumlah muatan, sedangkan data sekunder meliputi spesifikasi alat, catatan konsumsi bahan bakar, dan kondisi jalan. Data tersebut diolah untuk menentukan rata-rata konsumsi bahan bakar (fuel burn), produktivitas alat, dan perhitungan fuel ratio sebagai indikator efisiensi energi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa unit CAT 789C mencatat rata-rata konsumsi bahan bakar sebesar 135,6 L/jam dan produktivitas sebesar 221,9 BCM/jam, dengan fuel ratio 0,615 L/BCM. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi grade jalan angkut dan parameter operasional sebagai faktor signifikan yang memengaruhi efisiensi bahan bakar dan produktivitas. Disimpulkan bahwa optimalisasi kondisi jalan, peningkatan manajemen operasional, dan pemeliharaan alat secara rutin sangat penting untuk meningkatkan efisiensi energi dan mendukung praktik pertambangan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a simulator of an automotive engine cooling system that serves both as a practical learning tool and an experimental platform to evaluate the effectiveness of three types of coolant fluids: radiator coolant, mineral water, and demineralized water. The simulator was built using an Arduino-based system equipped with temperature sensors, a heating element, a water pump, and a radiator fan. The experiment focused on three key indicators: the time needed to reach engine operating temperature, the temperature difference between radiator inlet and outlet (ΔT). Results showed that mineral and demineralized water outperformed radiator coolant in terms of thermal efficiency, particularly in heat transfer rate and temperature drop. Beyond numerical results, the simulator also enabled learners to directly observe coolant flow and the function of each component, enhancing their conceptual understanding. This study contributes to the development of accessible, practice-based automotive learning media, while also offering experimental insight into alternative coolant fluids in the context of vocational education. Keywords: simulator, engine cooling system, radiator coolant, demineralized water, automotive education Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun sebuah simulator sistem pendingin engine kendaraan ringan yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media pembelajaran praktik, tetapi juga sebagai alat untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas tiga jenis cairan pendingin, yaitu radiator coolant, air mineral, dan air demineralisasi. Simulator dikembangkan dengan menggunakan sistem berbasis Arduino, dilengkapi dengan sensor suhu, elemen pemanas, pompa air, dan kipas radiator. Pengujian dilakukan dengan fokus pada tiga indikator utama: waktu untuk mencapai suhu kerja, perbedaan suhu antara inlet dan outlet radiator (ΔT). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa air mineral dan air demineralisasi memberikan performa pendinginan yang lebih baik dibandingkan radiator coolant, terutama dalam hal efisiensi pelepasan panas dan stabilitas suhu. Selain memberikan data eksperimen, simulator ini juga memungkinkan mahasiswa mengamati langsung aliran cairan pendingin dan cara kerja setiap komponen, sehingga membantu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam menghadirkan media praktik yang aplikatif serta memperkaya referensi eksperimen cairan pendingin dalam lingkungan pendidikan vokasi.
