Abstract

We investigated to find out the BMI of healthy people and the relation to their health environmental habits. We surveyed walking travelers’ participants who had hiking experiences in South Korea. We also analyzed the BMI classification by hand hygiene habits, shoe washing and garbage disposal maintaining for distribution BMI features. The survey was conducted through an online questionnaire. The subjects included 569 adult participants, males and females aged 20 years and older. Box plot visualization and cross-tab test were used for analysis. The results revealed that almost 48.5% of all participants handwash before meals. Statistically, it showed a significant relationship between normal calcified BMI and washing hands before eating (p-val : 0.001) and before eating snacks (p-val : 0.000). The distribution of participants who were in BMI classification of overweight (BMI 24.9~29.9) in a group that had habits of washing hands before meals when traveling showed 10% lower. The lower the number of cleaning frequencies, increasing the higher BMI. However, the impact on shoe care (washing) and waste care was negligible. The result shows that good habits in the environment, especially hand hygiene, influence the BMI. This indicates that certainty about health and some health environmental habits also affect health.

Abstract

Abstract

Early childhood represents a critical developmental stage in which family care and parenting play a fundamental role in shaping children’s health and growth outcomes. In coastal communities, socioeconomic challenges, limited parental supervision, and constrained educational access may influence parenting practices and, consequently, children’s physical growth. To identify the dominant parenting style among coastal families in Semarang City and analyse its association with toddlers’ physical growth. This quantitative cross-sectional study involved 371 families with toddlers aged 1–5 years living in North Semarang District, a coastal area of Semarang City. Samples were selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected through a validated parenting style questionnaire based on Baumrind’s theory and anthropometric measurements following WHO Child Growth Standards. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test (p < 0.05). The permissive parenting style was the most dominant (49.9%), followed by authoritarian (27.5%) and authoritative/democratic (22.6%). Most toddlers (68.2%) showed normal growth, while 31.8% experienced problems such as underweight, stunting, or wasting. A significant association was found between parenting style and toddlers’ physical growth (χ² = 13.21; p = 0.001). Children raised with an authoritative (democratic) style had the highest proportion of normal growth (82.1%). Permissive parenting predominates among coastal families, reflecting socioeconomic constraints and limited parental involvement. Parenting style significantly affects child growth; thus, family-based interventions promoting structured and responsive parenting are essential to prevent growth problems in vulnerable coastal communities.

Abstract

Abstract

Weavers are often restricted from maintaining ergonomic postures due to static work activities and repetitive movements that can cause complaints of low back pain. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of abdominal stretching exercise on reducing low back pain complaints. A quasi-experimental design (one-group pre-posttest) was used in this study with 45 weavers as a research sample, taken by total sampling technique. The Wilcoxon test results indicated a p-value of <0.001, demonstrating a statistically significant decrease in low back pain complaints. After the intervention, the majority of respondents experienced a decrease in pain levels from moderate to mild. This study demonstrates the potential of abdominal stretching exercise as a non-pharmacological approach to managing low back pain in weaving workers; however, additional studies with more robust methodologies are required to substantiate these results.

Abstract

Introduction: Family support is an important factor in helping patients cope with health problems and reducing perceived burdens. In Family-Centered Care (FCC), families are involved in patient care and decision-making together with health professionals. FCC is expected to improve self-efficacy and quality of life in hemodialysis patients. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effect of the Family-Centered Care method on self-efficacy and quality of life among patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test design with a control group. A total of 118 respondents participated in the study. Self-efficacy was measured using the General Self-Efficacy Scale (10 items), while quality of life was measured using the KDQOL SF-36 questionnaire (36 questions). The SF-36 has been validated and widely used to assess health-related quality of life in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis. Reliability testing showed a Cronbach’s α value of 0.78.Results: The intervention group showed a significant improvement in self-efficacy (p = 0.001). Quality of life also improved significantly (p = 0.000). Both results were below the 0.05 significance level, indicating that the FCC intervention had a significant positive effect on hemodialysis patients. Conclusions: Family-Centered Care significantly improved self-efficacy and quality of life in hemodialysis patients and can be recommended as an effective nursing intervention approach.

Abstract

Creative micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) often recognize the value of innovation yet struggle to translate creative ideas into coherent business models because execution requires capabilities beyond creativity itself. This study examines whether perception of creativepreneurship and basic business capability predict creativepreneurship readiness, and whether readiness predicts innovative business model quality among creative and potentially creative MSMEs in Semarang, Indonesia. A cross-sectional survey yielded 102 responses; 78 complete cases met the prespecified eligibility criteria and were analyzed using PLS-SEM in SmartPLS 4 with 2,000 bootstrap subsamples. Basic business capability was strongly associated with readiness (β = 0.631, p < 0.001), while perception showed a smaller but positive directional association (β = 0.213, t = 1.907, one-tailed p = 0.028). Readiness strongly predicted innovative business model quality (β = 0.784, p < 0.001). The model explained 59.7% of readiness variance and 61.5% of business-model variance, with positive Q² values. The findings indicate that favorable perceptions are most useful when supported by practical routines in digital marketing, finance, operations, networking, storytelling, and business-model experimentation. Because the design is cross-sectional and some construct content overlaps, the coefficients are interpreted as predictive associations rather than causal effects.
