Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan tepung Ulva (Ulva lactuca) dan tepung Ekstrak Enzim Kasar Papain sebagai feed additive pada pakan benih ikan lele (Clarias sp.) terhadap kinerja pertumbuhan, FCR, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi Laju Pertumbuhan Harian (LPH), Specific Growth Rate (SGR) berdasarkan bobot (SGR W) dan panjang (SGR L), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), serta Survival Rate (SR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung Ulva dan tepung ekstrak enzim kasar papain memberikan peningkatan signifikan dibandingkan kontrol. Nilai LPH masing-masing adalah 1,58% (kontrol), 2,59% (tepung Ulva), dan 2,55% (tepung EEK Papain). SGR W tercatat sebesar 0,20 (kontrol), 0,30 (tepung Ulva), dan 0,31 (tepung EEK Papain), sedangkan SGR L sebesar 0,08 (kontrol), 0,13 (tepung Ulva), dan 0,12 (tepung EEK Papain). FCR juga menunjukkan perbaikan dengan nilai 1,36 (kontrol), 0,82 (tepung Ulva), dan 0,84 (tepung EEK Papain). Namun, SR mengalami variasi dengan hasil 80% (kontrol), 30% (tepung Ulva), dan 70% (tepung EEK Papain). Dari hasil tersebut, tepung Ulva dan tepung eksrak enzim kasar papain terbukti memiliki potensi sebagai feed additive dalam meningkatkan efisiensi pakan dan pertumbuhan benih ikan lele. Namun, penurunan SR terutama pada perlakuan tepung Ulva memerlukan kajian lebih lanjut untuk memahami penyebabnya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana berbagai jenis pakan dan kedalaman berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan lobster pasir (Panulirus homarus). Studi dilakukan selama 60 hari dengan kerangkeng berdiameter 80 cm dan tinggi 90 cm yang diisi dengan sepuluh ekor benih lobster. Sebanyak 20% dari berat tubuh lobster diberi makan dua kali sehari. Pertumbuhan berat mutIak, Iaju pertumbuhan harian (LPH), rasio konversi pakan (FCR), mortalitas, dan efisiensi pemberian pakan (EPP) adalah semua indikator yang diamati. Pengumpulan sampel dilakukan setiap sepuluh hari untuk mengamati perkembangan, dan secara berkala dilakukan pengukuran kualitas air untuk mengukur salinitas, pH, suhu, dan oksigen terIarut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan C, yang dilakukan pada kedalaman 5 meter dengan pakan ikan rucah, menunjukkan peningkatan bobot mutlak 51,67 g, LPH 1,74%, FCR 6,51, dan EPP 15,42%. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa jenis pakan dan kedalaman lobster berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap pertumbuhannya, dan kualitas air yang baik juga membantu kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan lobster. Untuk mengurangi stres selama molting, disarankan untuk menambah tempat persembunyian di dalam kerangkeng.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the stimulatory effects of natural feed with calcium and phosphorus supplementation on growth and survival via physiological poses of hepatopancreas and intestine in sand lobster (Panulirus homarus). A trial was done with three types of natural feed of shell rich in calcium and phosphorus for lobsters weighing 80 g (initial weight), and that contained different mineral values: shrimp (Acetes), with calcium/phosphorus content (mg/mg) of 757/292, anchovy (Stolephorus sp) with 500/500, and golden apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata) with 129/60. This study was conducted from October 2023 to December 2023 at the KJA of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Universitas Padjadjaran, located on the East Coast of Pangandaran Regency. The parameters measured were survival, growth, histological health of the hepatopancreas and the intestine of the sand lobsters, and water quality. The results showed the highest survival of lobsters in the treatment fed by shrimp at 96%, and the highest specific growth rate of lobsters was found in the anchovy diet at 1.90 0.5117%. Intestinal villus area of lobster was 1857.667 µm2; besides this, the histology of Hepato pancreas and intestine has been described descriptively. Water quality parameters in the research site varied as depth-visibility was from 3.1 m, temperatures of 27 to 29°C, dissolved oxygen was 6.4 to 8.8 mg/L, pH range was 7 to 8, and the salinity range was 34 to 35 ppt

Abstract

Microalgae such as Chlorella sp. are valuable for their potential in sustainable food, feed, and bioenergy production, but their cultivation often relies on costly synthetic nutrients. Exploring alternative nutrient sources, such as liquid organic fertilizers, may offer a more economical and environmentally friendly approach to biomass production. This study aims to evaluate the effect of liquid organic fertilizer application on the growth of Chlorella sp. in a closed culture system. Seven treatments were used: one control without fertilizer (K) and six treatments with increasing fertilizer doses (P1–P6). The observed parameters included initial and final cell density, as well as daily growth rate during a seven-day incubation period. The results showed that fertilizer application had a significant effect on the growth enhancement of Chlorella sp. The highest final cell density was recorded in treatment P6, exceeding 6.3 × 10⁷ cells/ml, while a population decline was observed in the control group. The daily growth rate also increased with higher fertilizer doses, with the highest value (μ = 0.36) observed in P6. Linear regression analysis showed a strong relationship between fertilizer amount and growth rate (r = 0.8493; p = 0.0156; R² = 0.7213), indicating that growth variation could be significantly explained by the amount of fertilizer applied. The conclusion of this study is that liquid organic fertilizer has great potential as an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative for microalgae culture media. Proper dosage formulation can support optimal microalgal biomass production. Further research is needed to identify the dominant nutrient content in the fertilizer and to assess the biomass quality for potential applications in food, feed, or bioenergy sectors.
