Abstract

This study analyzes the strategy of the Nasdem Party in responding to the dominance of major parties in the 2024 election in Tuban Regency. The research background highlights the complexity of local political competition, which is dominated by religion-based parties, as well as the crucial role of community leaders and local identity in shaping voter preferences. This study aims to identify the political strategies employed by the Nasdem Party and to reveal the challenges faced in enhancing electability and vote acquisition. A descriptive qualitative method is utilized, incorporating a data triangulation approach that includes in-depth interviews, document studies, and direct observations of political activities in the field. The findings indicate that the Nasdem Party adopts a strategy based on recruiting high-quality cadres, internal consolidation, and political marketing through the 4P approach (product, price, place, promotion), tailored to the socio-cultural characteristics of Tuban’s society. The primary challenges encountered include the dominance of major parties such as PKB and Golkar, shifts in voter preferences due to local and national issues, and competition among regional political figures. Although there has been an increase in electability at the regency DPRD level, the results have not yet met the targets for the provincial DPRD and national DPR-RI levels. In conclusion, the strategies implemented by the Nasdem Party have led to several positive achievements but still require further evaluation and refinement to address greater challenges in the future. This study provides practical contributions to the development of political strategies and offers recommendations for political parties in navigating elections, particularly in regions with complex political dynamics such as Tuban Regency.

Abstract

This study critically examines the complex relationship between mass media consumption and political literacy in Indonesia as the nation approached its 2024 general election. Employing a qualitative research methodology analysing high-quality secondary data from multiple sources, the study investigates how various media platforms influence citizens' political knowledge, critical thinking skills, and electoral participation readiness. Research findings reveal significant disparities in political literacy across demographic groups, with digital divides reinforcing information asymmetries between urban and rural populations. Social media emerged as a dominant information source for 68% of voters, yet 73% of respondents demonstrated limited ability to identify misinformation. Traditional media retained significant influence among older voters (65+ demographic), while digital platforms dominated youth engagement. The study identified five prevailing patterns of media-influenced political literacy: platform-dependent knowledge variation, algorithmic reinforcement of political polarization, diminished substantive policy discourse, widespread circulation of electoral misinformation, and variable media literacy skills across demographic segments. These dynamics created a fragmented information ecosystem where political literacy was undermined by information overload, partisan media consumption, and digital platform manipulation. The research contributes to media effects theory by proposing a contextually sensitive integrated framework of political literacy development specific to emerging democracies navigating digital transformation. The study recommends coordinated multi-stakeholder approaches to political literacy enhancement, emphasizing critical media consumption skills, platform accountability, and civic education initiatives tailored to Indonesia's unique socio-political context.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kuripan Village, Ciseeng District, Bogor Regency, have significant potential in the local food sector, but face serious marketing challenges, particularly limited digital literacy. This condition makes their products less competitive in the modern market. This community service activity aims to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs by optimizing marketing based on social media and digital platforms. The implementation method is online training via Zoom with an interactive, participatory, and applied approach, covering three main topics: social media ethics, basic product photography techniques, and creating online business accounts. The activity participated in 10 local MSMEs. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding and skills, marked by an average pretest/posttest score that increased from 2.4 to 4.5 in the ethics aspect, from 2.1 to 4.2 in videography skills, and from 1.8 to 4.6 in mastery of digital business accounts. Participant testimonials also indicate a change in mindset and courage to utilize digital media as a promotional tool. Thus, this activity effectively bridges the digital divide of local MSMEs and contributes to strengthening technology-based marketing capacity.
