Abstract

Students at UAD can join various projects offered by their lecturers, including research, internships, assignments, and competitions. These opportunities are typically communicated through research workshops or WhatsApp groups. Currently, more lecturers are getting research projects that require students as technical members, but they need to be sure about the students' sufficient abilities. On the other hand, not all students receive this information, and project monitoring is often done informally via WhatsApp. All students should get projects so they can graduate from project management courses or internships. To address this, lecturers can help speed up the process of students getting projects by inviting students to join their projects. An application was proposed to streamline information dissemination, student selection, and project monitoring. The study employed the double diamond method—Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver —to design the app's UI/UX prototype. Usability and user experience testing showed high success rates for both lecturer and student applications, with 91.81% and 84.54% respectively. The student app scored well on attraction (1.63), clarity (1.45), efficiency (1.70), accuracy (1.70), stimulation (1.95), and novelty (1.40). The lecturer app scored even higher on attraction (2.47), clarity (1.45), efficiency (2.25), accuracy (1.95), stimulation (2.65), and novelty (2.45).

Abstract

The development of information technology requires schools to optimize the system to improve efficiency, including in the process of admitting new students (PPDB). Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta Vocational Highschool still uses manual PPDB methods such as data collection and processing which causes inefficiency in the registration process, data errors, and requires a lot of energy from the school. This research aims to develop a website-based PPDB system that is tailored to the needs of the school. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies, with a prototype method approach that involved schools at every stage of development. System testing using usability tests and User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) with the results of the online PPDB system obtained a positive response with a score of “Excellent” in the aspects of Attractiveness (1.89) and Stimulation (1.81), as well as “Good” in the aspects of Efficiency (1.87), Dependability (1.58), and Novelty (1.57) showing a significant improvement in the quality of the PPDB system of Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta Vocational Highschool.

Abstract

This study examines a community empowerment initiative in Dirgantara Village in Yogyakarta that focuses on producing dry maggots to address challenges in waste management and economic development. The project targets the issue of organic waste by using maggots, specifically the larvae of the Black Soldier Fly, to efficiently decompose organic material. This method not only mitigates environmental pollution but also creates a valuable product that can be sold as animal feed, offering a sustainable income source for the community. The initiative uses a problem-based learning approach, engaging local residents through educational workshops and practical demonstrations to improve their understanding and skills in organic waste management. Results show a significant increase in community members' understanding and awareness of sustainable waste practices. The Dirgantara Village project demonstrates how integrating innovative and sustainable practices can effectively address ecological challenges and enhance economic prospects, serving as a model for other communities facing similar issues.

Abstract

Abstract Fish is a source of animal protein that is good for health. Catfish is a freshwater fishery commodity that produces abundant fish in Karanganyar. However, the consumption rate of fish in Karanganyar Regency is minimal, the diversification of processed catfish is minimal, and there is still a low understanding of the dangers of LPG Gas leakage when processing fishery products. Based on this, the community service team provided a program to partners, namely training on diversification of processed fishery products as an effort to produce fishery products and increase fish consumption rates, and counseling on Occupational Safety and Health (K3) in handling household-scale fires due to LPG gas leaks. The evaluation results of the community service program showed an increase in partners' understanding and skills in training on diversification of processed fishery products and an increase in knowledge in the implementation of the K3 system when experiencing a fire due to an LPG gas leak. Keywords: diversification, catfish, gas leak.

Abstract

Deviant behavior in adolescents is a significant issue in education, particularly in the field of Guidance and Counseling (BK). The paper-based manual recording system makes it difficult for BK teachers to manage data such as case histories, counseling reports, and attendance. This study aims to develop a website-based BK information system using the User-Centered Design (UCD) approach and the Waterfall method. Data was collected through interviews and observations of BK teachers, followed by designing a user-friendly interface, system development, and testing. This system enables BK teachers to manage student data efficiently and allows principals to monitor reports in real time. The results of the System Usability Scale test showed an average score of 80.75 (category B, Good), and the Blackbox test showed appropriate functionality. The system proved effective, efficient, and met user needs in managing BK services in schools thus enabling BK teachers to focus more on quality counseling with data-based decision making.
