Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the school environmental program in raising the awareness of students at SMP Negeri 1 Pardasuka about their environment. The background of this research is the importance of environmental awareness to anticipate environmental changes worldwide. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews with the Student Affairs Representative of SMP Negeri 1 Pardasuka and direct observation. The research results show that school environmental programs such as greening programs, hydroponics, and contextual learning effectively increase students' environmental awareness. The conclusion of this research is that school environmental programs need to be conducted sustainably and systematically to enhance students' environmental awareness. This research contributes to the development of effective and sustainable environmental education strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of khalifah (vicegerent) and amanah (trust) in the Qur’an as the theological foundation for human responsibility in managing and preserving the natural environment. The current ecological crisis reflects human failure to fulfill their divine duty as the stewards of the earth. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this study analyzes Qur’anic verses related to environmental ethics, including Surah Al-Baqarah [2]:30, Al-An‘am [6]:165, Al-A‘raf [7]:56, Ar-Rum [30]:41, and Al-Ahzab [33]:72. Data were obtained from classical and contemporary exegeses, as well as relevant journal articles. The findings indicate that Islam places humans as trustees of Allah to maintain balance (mizan) and prosperity on earth, emphasizing moral, spiritual, and social values in environmental management. The study concludes that by internalizing the Qur’anic concepts of khalifah and amanah, Muslims can develop ecological awareness and environmental ethics rooted in faith, thus contributing to sustainable development based on spiritual values.Keywords: Khalifah, Amanah, Environment.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of environmental education within the framework of Islamic teachings by examining Qur’anic values, prophetic traditions, and the role of Islamic education in strengthening ecological awareness. The research aims to identify core Islamic principles related to environmental preservation such as khalifah (stewardship), amanah (trust), ihsan (excellence), and mizan (balance) and analyze their relevance to modern ecological issues. Using a qualitative library research approach, this study reviews classical and contemporary Islamic literature, as well as scholarly works on eco-Islam and environmental ethics. The findings reveal that Islam provides a comprehensive environmental worldview that emphasizes the responsibility of humans as guardians of the earth, prohibits destructive actions, and encourages sustainable use of natural resources. Furthermore, Islamic education, both formal and non-formal, plays a strategic role in integrating ecological values into learning activities and daily life practices. This study concludes that Islamic environmental education is essential for shaping environmentally conscious behavior and can contribute to the development of sustainable ecological ethics in contemporary society.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Efforts to enhance physical fitness and solidify the character of elementary school students continue to rely significantly on the crucial role of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS). In order to construct a healthy environment within the school premises, instilling a PHBS culture is essential to foster a sense of discipline, responsibility, and ecological awareness. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the PHBS culture in establishing a healthy school environment and developing the character of students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 6 Lampung Selatan. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involved informants comprising the school principal, teachers, School Health Unit (UKS) staff, and students, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman framework. The findings indicate that the realization of the PHBS culture is executed through routine programs, teacher role-modeling, the provision of hygiene facilities, and continuous monitoring. These PHBS activities are implemented via classroom cleaning duties, routine handwashing, maintenance of the school's green environment, and the optimization of the UKS. Consequently, the introduction of a PHBS culture significantly contributes to the conditioning of a healthy environment within the educational institution while constructively shaping the students' character. ABSTRAK Upaya peningkatan kebugaran tubuh serta pemapanan karakter peserta didik pada tingkat sekolah dasar hingga kini dinilai tetap bertumpu pada krusialnya perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). Demi mengonstruksi lingkungan sehat pada lingkup sekolahan, penanaman budaya PHBS dibutuhkan demi memupuk moralitas tertib, rasa kewajiban, serta kepedulian terhadap ekologi sekitar. Kajian ini bertujuan membedah pelaksanaan budaya PHBS dalam mewujudkan lingkungan sehat sekolahan serta mematangkan karakter peserta didik di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 6 Lampung Selatan. Kajian kualitatif deskriptif ini melibatkan narasumber yang mencakup pimpinan lembaga, pengajar, staf UKS, serta subjek didik lewat mekanisme purposive sampling. Penjaringan informasi dilangsungkan lewat pengamatan, tatap muka, serta pengarsipan berkas, sementara pembedahan fakta mengeksploitasi skema Miles dan Huberman. Temuan mengindikasikan bahwa realisasi budaya PHBS dijalankan lewat agenda rutin, percontohan dari pengajar, penyediaan sarana higienitas, serta kontrol yang diselenggarakan secara kontinu. Aktivitas PHBS tersebut diimplementasikan lewat penugasan kebersihan kelas, rutinitas membasuh jemari, pemeliharaan keasrian sekitar, dan pengoptimalan UKS. Karenanya, introduksi budaya PHBS menyumbang dampak besar bagi pengondisian lingkungan sehat di institusi pendidikan sekaligus memahat karakter peserta didik secara konstruktif.
