Abstract

The current environmental issues are part of a global crisis that often becomes a concern of discussion in the world stage. Various approaches have been taken to resolve the crisis, but the results are still debatable. One of the most ideal approaches is to use an Islamic education approach. This research aims to examine the existence of environmental education in Islamic education. This research is a literature research with documentation methods and use content analysis for its analytical techniques. The results of research shows that Islamic education can be used as a means to realize the values of environmental education, because there is a close relationship between environmental education and Islamic education, such as from the material, methods and goals aspects that ultimately achieve the goal of forming awareness of each individual to the environment issues.

Abstract

Linking the theme of the study of leadership and ulama (clerics) from a sociological perspective is an interesting matter. Because, the theme of leadership and ulama (clerics) is a multidisciplinary field. On the other hand, ulama (clerics) have an important role in people's lives. Ulama (clerics) have a role in the context of rapid social, political, and economic change. Ulama—especially in Indonesia—is used to denote someone who has a deep knowledge of Islam and is a religious figure and occupies an important and strategic position in the social world. This article will discuss the Ulama (cleric) from the perspective of the sociology of leadership. The discussion in this article uses Max Weber's theory of charisma. As it is known, charisma is pinned on certain qualities of an individual's personality that are different from ordinary people, and he is treated as someone who has blessings from the supernatural, superhuman, or at least, specifically has extraordinary powers or qualities. Therefore, Max Weber's concept of charisma is used to analyze the charismatic scholars from Turkey and Indonesia. This charismatic cleric (ulama) is addressed to the figures of Badiuzzaman Said Nursi, Fethullah Gullen, KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, and KH. Ahmad Dahlan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Adiwiyata Program in increasing environmental awareness among students at SMP Negeri 1 Pardasuka. The Adiwiyata Program, which focuses on waste management, greening, and energy efficiency, aims to form an environmentally conscious character through education that integrates environmental values ​​into the curriculum. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type, where data is collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. Data analysis was carried out using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing methods. The results of the study indicate that despite challenges in terms of school commitment and active student participation, the Adiwiyata Program has succeeded in increasing students' environmental awareness, especially in waste management and greening. This study is expected to provide recommendations to optimize program implementation, as well as support the development of environmental education that is in line with Islamic teachings on preserving nature as part of worship to Allah SWT.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the development of the green campus at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. This is due to the fact that sustainable campus development is very important to support sustainable development and reduce the negative impact it has on the environment. One of the data collection methods used in this qualitative research is interviews with informants involved in the development of the Green Campus. The results show that UIN Raden Intan Lampung has developed a Green Campus strategy through the "Six in One" program and has achieved a ranking of 18th nationally and 71st globally in the UI Green Metric. The main obstacles faced are the limited human resources and public awareness. In conclusion, the green campus of UIN Raden Intan Lampung has shown significant progress. To ensure the sustainable development of the campus, more human resources and increased public awareness are needed.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the school environmental program in raising the awareness of students at SMP Negeri 1 Pardasuka about their environment. The background of this research is the importance of environmental awareness to anticipate environmental changes worldwide. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews with the Student Affairs Representative of SMP Negeri 1 Pardasuka and direct observation. The research results show that school environmental programs such as greening programs, hydroponics, and contextual learning effectively increase students' environmental awareness. The conclusion of this research is that school environmental programs need to be conducted sustainably and systematically to enhance students' environmental awareness. This research contributes to the development of effective and sustainable environmental education strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of khalifah (vicegerent) and amanah (trust) in the Qur’an as the theological foundation for human responsibility in managing and preserving the natural environment. The current ecological crisis reflects human failure to fulfill their divine duty as the stewards of the earth. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this study analyzes Qur’anic verses related to environmental ethics, including Surah Al-Baqarah [2]:30, Al-An‘am [6]:165, Al-A‘raf [7]:56, Ar-Rum [30]:41, and Al-Ahzab [33]:72. Data were obtained from classical and contemporary exegeses, as well as relevant journal articles. The findings indicate that Islam places humans as trustees of Allah to maintain balance (mizan) and prosperity on earth, emphasizing moral, spiritual, and social values in environmental management. The study concludes that by internalizing the Qur’anic concepts of khalifah and amanah, Muslims can develop ecological awareness and environmental ethics rooted in faith, thus contributing to sustainable development based on spiritual values.Keywords: Khalifah, Amanah, Environment.

Abstract

Environmental issues are becoming more complex, yet integrating environmental education into the school curriculum remains challenging. Many schools struggle to implement sustainable practices due to limited resources and a lack of awareness among stakeholders. This study analyzes the implementation of the eco-environment concept at Bintang Madani Qur'an Nature Elementary School, focusing on the integration of environmental programs in the curriculum and school activities, challenges faced, and the solutions applied. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the school has implemented eco-environmental principles by engaging in greening initiatives, managing waste effectively, and utilizing environmentally friendly energy programs. The program's challenges include limited funds and facilities, resource constraints, limited understanding of the green school concept, and inconsistencies in program implementation. To address these challenges, the school, in cooperation with external institutions, provides training for teachers and students, involves the community in sustainability programs, and strengthens institutional management. This study has implications for the development of environmental education theory and practice based on local and religious values. It is the basis for formulating more contextual and applicable environmental education policies at the regional and national levels.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly transformed the learning ecosystem of Islamic Religious Education (IRE), particularly in terms of access to and distribution of religious information among students. This study aims to analyze and synthesize various research findings related to Islamic Religious Education teachers strategies in responding to the dominance of digital religious information, focusing on digital literacy, pedagogical strategies, and the use of digital media in learning. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method and content analysis techniques. Data were collected from various scientific journal articles, books, and academic publications published within the last ten years. The findings indicate that the dominance of digital religious information has led to a shift in knowledge authority, variations in students understanding, and potential misconceptions in interpreting religious teachings. In response, Islamic Religious Education teachers implement strategies such as strengthening digital literacy, applying pedagogical approaches including critical discussion and clarification, and utilizing digital media as a learning tool and value reinforcement medium. The synthesis reveals that these three aspects are interconnected and need to be integrated into a comprehensive learning framework. This study emphasizes that Islamic Religious Education teachers play a crucial role as facilitators, mediators, and guides in developing critical, contextual, and value-based religious understanding in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between Islamic Religious Education and students’ digital ethics. This research employs a correlational method. The population of the study consists of students from the 2024 cohort of the Islamic Religious Education program at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. The sample includes students from classes C to L of the 2024 cohort in the same program. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. Data were collected using non-test instruments. Data analysis was conducted using the rank spearman correlation test. The results of the study indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between Islamic Religious Education and students’ digital ethics. This is evidenced by the rank spearman correlation test, which produced a correlation coefficient of 0.527. This value indicates that the relationship between the two variables falls into the strong category.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the anomaly problem of the speed gap of students in mastering the Daqu Rules method, even though they study in the ecosystem and use the same curriculum. This duration inequality is strongly indicated to be disrupted by a psychological determinant variable, namely learning motivation. Therefore, this study aims to investigate and analyze the dynamics of students' learning motivation in mastering the Daqu Rules at the Tahfizh Daarul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School Tegineneng Pesawaran. The research applied a qualitative method of case study design using purposive sampling on fast, medium, and slow student groups, and collected holistic data through observation, interview, and documentation study techniques. The findings of the research prove that students who are dominated by intrinsic motivations such as theological awareness and independent goals show very rigid discipline, proactive participation, and much faster learning acceleration. On the other hand, students who are extrinsically motivated because of the demands of their parents or simply the rules of the pesantren are prone to experiencing sporadic demotivation, boredom, and stagnation in completing material up to more than one semester. As a concrete recommendation, educators (asatidz) are required to carry out systemic reorientation by not only acting as mechanical pedagogical instructors, but are obliged to transform into emotional architects who proactively engineer a supportive environment to maintain the intrinsic motivation of students.
