Abstract

Edge detection is the first step to cover information in the image. The edges characterize the boundaries of objects and therefore edges are useful for the process of segmentation and identification in the image. The purpose of edge detection is to increase the appearance of the boundary line of the object in the image. The sobel method is a method that uses two kernels measuring 3x3 pixels for gradient calculations so that the estimate gradient is right in the middle of the window. Digital image processing aims to manipulate image data and analyze an image with the help of a computer. Matlab is made to facilitate the use of two collections of subroutines in the fortran library, linpack and eispack, in handling matrix computing, and develops into an interactive system as a programming language. Experimental results from the input image research, namely the flower image have different MSE values because each input image has a different pixel value

Abstract

A "final assignment repository" is a medium or place for storing final assignments and theses in the form of PDF files (Portable Document Format). At the end of each semester, students must receive a final assignment course for the D3 level. In each university, the final assignment system is often different, but most still use the manual method. When a student's thesis trial and final assignment are printed, it is used as a book as proof that they have completed the thesis or final assignment. For the collection of thesis books, students are required to collect them in the library; often, other students look for study references and assignments in the reading room. For that reason, the author's problem is trying to design a website-based final project repository application using the Laravel framework. This application was built to store student final assignments. In this case, students can easily save the final project file. In this application, the reading room admin plays the role of manager of the final assignment file if students who have submitted it validate that the student has collected it. Majoring students can use this application to access applications that can be used as learning tools or references for their final project. A computerized system is expected to provide convenience and produce applications as expected.

Abstract

Advances in science and technology have become the idea of a tool for the development of oyster mushroom cultivation which has increased following the large market demand. Cultivating oyster mushrooms in areas with high temperatures requires special care techniques. Current technological developments make it easier to maintain oyster mushroom cultivation, namely by automatically regulating the temperature and humidity in the cultivation room. With automatic temperature control, it can make maintenance easier and reduce failure in oyster mushroom production. To realize the simulation of automatic temperature and humidity control, several pieces of hardware are needed, namely temperature and humidity sensors, DC fan, LCD, power supply, and Arduino Uno as the processor. which are then combined into a system. The growth of oyster mushrooms is greatly influenced by the surrounding environmental conditions. Therefore, we must know the conditions that are suitable for growth before we cultivate oyster mushrooms. Usually, the growth of oyster mushrooms will be optimal throughout the year if the cultivation location is by its natural habitat, namely in a mountainous area with an altitude of between 400 - 800 meters above sea level and an air temperature of around 21 - 29 oC with a humidity level of around 60 - 80%. In general, farmers cultivate natural mushrooms in a room to obtain environmental conditions suitable for growth. Because mushrooms are very sensitive to temperature and humidity, it is necessary to monitor the temperature and humidity in the growing room.

Abstract

The thermal Image Classification Method has been widely used for significant applications in many fields, including thermal images of the face. This study presents a method for thermal facial classification in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Children with ASD have a neurological disorder that affects communication skills essential in daily life and often causes difficulties in social situations. As we know, the diagnosis of ASD currently still relies on human methods and does not yet have definite biological markers. Early diagnosis of ASD has a significant positive impact, especially in children. Deep learning techniques, especially in facial medical image analysis, have become a new research focus in ASD detection. Initial screening using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model with a transfer learning approach offers great potential for early diagnosis of ASD. The use of thermal imaging as a passive method to analyze ASD-related physiological signals has been proposed. In previous research, a deep learning model was developed to classify the faces of autistic children using thermal images. Therefore, this study aims to create a new Thermal Image Classification model for Autistic Children Using Res-Net Architecture. The architectures applied are ResNet-18, ResNet-34, and ResNet-50. As a comparison system, several of the same parameter values are used: epoch 100, batch size 2, SGD, Cross-entropy, learning rate 0.001, and momentum 0.9. The study test results show that the results of ResNet-18 are 97.22%, ResNet-34 99.22%, and ResNet-50 99.41%. Based on these results, ResNet-50 has the highest value.

Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that significantly impacts communication, social interaction, and behavior in children, often leading to withdrawal, repetitive behaviors, and difficulties with eye contact. Traditional diagnostic methods primarily relied on behavioral assessments, which have proven insufficient in accuracy. This study aims to enhance ASD diagnosis by employing Electroencephalography (EEG) as an objective marker to differentiate between individuals with ASD and neurotypical individuals. Utilizing a dataset from King Abdulaziz University comprising 16 children—4 neurotypical and 12 with ASD—this research implements preprocessing techniques such as Independent Component Analysis (ICA) to eliminate noise and artifacts from EEG signals. Following this, Wavelet Packet Decomposition (WPD) is applied at three levels to improve signal resolution. Statistical features including mean, variance, skewness, and kurtosis are extracted for classification purposes. The Random Forest (RF) method is then employed for classification, achieving an accuracy of 76.8%. However, classification errors predominantly arise from the imbalance in the dataset, with more data available for ASD subjects compared to neurotypical subjects. The findings reveal significant differences in statistical features between the two groups, indicating the potential of EEG technology and computational algorithms in developing a more accurate and objective ASD diagnosis system. This research contributes valuable insights for early intervention strategies and future studies aimed at improving diagnostic methodologies for children with autism.
